Chapter 72 Relying on Him
"Don't worry, Queenie!" Manley readily responded, "I informed them of Leo's plan in advance and encouraged them to pack their bags and find a way to make a living elsewhere."
"Is it okay for them to go somewhere else?"
"It should be fine. Leo's uncle works in the West District's police station. Leo had the courage to act so arrogantly because his uncle's people won't catch him.”
“Once we leave the West District, he will be much more obedient. The bodyguards understand this as well. When they realized that the person they beat up was Leo, they quickly vented their anger and left the West District along with him."
Queenie nodded her head. "Mr. Foster, you've worked hard."
"It was no trouble, Queenie... about my three-thousand-word self-criticism letter?" Manley looked at Queenie with hopeful eyes.
"No need to write it," Queenie said with a gentle smile. She didn't have the habit of tormenting Manley.
Manley smiled, realizing that he would have to rely on Queenie more in the future.
"Mr. Foster is a good person and doesn't need to write a self-criticism letter. Unlike some people who are dishonest."
Queenie finished speaking and glanced at Benoit.
A dishonest and unreliable student.
Manley wanted to cry in that instant.
Queenie, maybe I should still write that self-criticism letter.
Please don't say anything. If you provoke Benoit again, I might have to go to Africa to mine coal.
Queenie finished breakfast and went to school. When she arrived at the office, she saw Sarah's sister packing up her things in a way that made it look like she had been fired.
Queenie found it a bit strange, but she wasn't one to pry, so she didn't ask anything.
Ella, seeing Queenie's indifferent appearance, couldn't help but become angry. She threw down the notebook she was holding and walked over to confront Queenie.
But just as she had walked halfway, she suddenly looked strange and swallowed her protest, returning to her seat and continuing to sulk while tidying up her desk.
She remembered the warning from a man named Mr. Foster: "If Queenie finds out about this, Ella won't be going to an ordinary school anymore."
Sarah's sister angrily finished packing her things and left.
As soon as she left, the teachers in the office started gossiping.
"I heard that Ella got transferred to Riverside School."
"What? Why would she be transferred to such a remote primary school?"
"I don't know. They said it was a routine job transfer, for the teachers of the two schools to exchange experiences."
"You've got to be kidding me. Our Experimental Primary School is one of the first-tier key schools. How can we interact with those seventh or eighth-tier schools?"
"Where is it? Anyway, it's good that they didn't ask us to go. Scared me!"
"Exactly!"
After listening to the gossip, Queenie raised an eyebrow and didn't take it to heart.
Meanwhile, Ella finished packing her things and walked out of the school, getting angrier the more she thought about it!
She was not willing to be transferred from Experimental Primary School like this.
The Experimental Primary School she was in was the best elementary school in the entire Coast City.
Some well-off men preferred to marry teachers from this school so that their children could attend this school.
It could be said that the school was her golden ticket to marrying a high-quality man.
She couldn't give up!
Ella gritted her teeth and entered a women's clothing store on the street, selecting a suit and a pencil skirt that matched Queenie's usual style of dress. She changed into black stockings and asked Sarah for Benoit Company's location before hailing a cab directly there.
When she arrived at Benoit's office, Ella walked in, nervously twisting her bag in her hands and said hesitantly,
"Mr. Clancy, I've come to apologize."
Benoit looked up at her, his eyes slightly brightening, then he continued looking at his documents.
Ella's face tensed.
She knew very well what that kind of gaze from a man meant!
Benoit glanced at the documents in his hands disinterestedly and asked, "Ella, what are you apologizing for?"
"Mr. Clancy, what do you think I should apologize for? I'm sorry for doing something inappropriate. I hope Mr. Lou can give me another chance." Ella took a few steps forward.
She thought of how her younger sister had exaggerated the man's power and influence in front of her, and she suddenly felt a bit tempted, so she went all out.
"If Mr. Clancy thinks I'm not suitable for working at Queenie's company, then I'm willing to accept a position at Coast City Middle School. As long as Mr. Clancy spares me this time and doesn't make me go to a remote primary school, I'm willing to do anything."
Benoit paused as he heard her words, his hand signing the document froze.
He looked up and glanced coldly at Sarah's sister.
"Ella."
His lips curled with a smile, but there was a coldness in his eyes that was completely detached. "Calling you a teacher is a sign of respect, but...don't treat yourself like a prostitute."
With a simple sentence, it felt like a sudden, sharp slap, making Ella's face instantly pale. She hurriedly grabbed her bag and fled in a panic.
But she couldn't just let it go!
She believed that her knowledge and charisma were much better than Sarah's.
She thought that as an intellectual teacher, Benoit would fall for her act.
Moreover, just now, his gaze clearly showed that he was interested in her!
Ella held onto the door frame and turned her head, unwilling to give up. "May I ask, where did things go wrong? When I entered the room just now, Mr. Clancy's eyes indicated that he liked."
"Smile for me, please," Benoit raised his gaze, suddenly playful and smirking, "If you don't mind, can you tell me where you bought that dress? The moment you walked in, it reminded me of a dress Queenie would look stunning in."
Especially those black stockings, they must have a great texture when ripped.
Ella's face turned even paler, that low, teasing smirk made her feel choked up, her embarrassment reaching its peak, so she could only turn her head and leave directly.
After signing the documents, Benoit stood up and said to Manley, "Get ready, I'm going to check on Daniel."
"Alright," Manley responded, making the necessary preparations to accompany Benoit to the detention center to visit Daniel.
The staff brought Daniel into the visitation room and had him sit on one side of a large table.
Manley pushed Benoit in and sat across from Daniel.
The staff glanced at Benoit and said, "Mr. Clancy, would you like someone to stay behind?"
"No need. Manley is enough," Benoit replied calmly.
One Manley could handle ten regular police officers.
After all, Manley had gone through special training, truly exceptional.
The staff nodded and said, "Alright, Mr. Clancy, I'll be outside. Call me if you need anything."
After speaking, the staff closed the door.
Daniel looked at the staff treating Benoit with respect and a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes, but he still sarcastically joked, "It seems Mr. Clancy hasn't lost his power. No matter where he goes, he can still save face."
"That's right," Benoit chuckled, a smile playing at the corner of his mouth, "All I have left is this bit of reputation, more than enough to ruin you."
As his voice fell, Daniel's expression stiffened and he couldn't force a smile.
"Mr. Clancy, what do you mean? Why? Are you not satisfied with having brought me here?"
No lawyer in all of Coast City dared to take his case, so he could only wait for trial here.
All the evidence was there; he would be lucky if he only got ten years!
Did Benoit still not feel satisfied?
Suddenly, Daniel seemed to understand something and sneered, "Well, I'm responsible for my own actions! Mr. Clancy, don't expect me to betray my aunt!"
"You misunderstood," Benoit's smile deepened, "I am a kind-hearted person. Seeing you like this, I couldn't help but tell you who exactly ruined your company."
Manley: ...
Benoit, your CT scan must show that your heart and conscience are black.
