Chapter 123 Black Stockings Torn By Husband
"Macy, how dare you insult people? Don't go too far. I am your superior," May lectured with Ms. Wilson's air.
"Did I insult you? Ms. Wilson, you misunderstood! I was cursing that troublemaker, the gossipmonger!" Macy said playfully.
"We all know Queenie's character, right? I just said it's nonsense! It was about the person who accused Queenie of stealing. Whoever said it, I cursed them! So, you said Melissa said it, that's why I cursed her!"
May's face flushed with anger, unable to speak.
At this moment, Queenie realized what happened and became calm.
She smiled calmly and gratefully nodded at Macy and Miss White.
It wasn't easy for someone to speak up for her in this situation, especially when it could offend the petty superior, May.
She pulled Macy behind her and looked at May with calm eyes.
"Ms. Wilson, firstly, I didn't steal anything from Nathan's house. The case is still under investigation, and you're already asking me to explain the crime. Aren't you subtly telling everyone that I've already committed a crime? Ms. Wilson, saying this can constitute defamation against me!"
May's pores contracted upon hearing this.
She knew Queenie's husband was wealthy, and the thought of being sued for defamation by the other party's lawyer made her face turn pale.
Queenie admired her embarrassed state and smiled.
"Second, it was Nathan's dog that tore my stockings, and Melissa specially gave me a new pair. At that time, I didn't know the black stockings were so expensive. I even offered to pay, but Melissa insisted they were worthless and refused multiple times. Also, it was Melissa who asked me to go to the master bedroom to change the stockings, but I refused. In the end, I only went to the bathroom in the living room to change. That's the truth."
May's expression became unnatural. "Do you have any evidence to support your claims?"
Queenie smiled lightly. "I have logical evidence. Let me ask Ms. Wilson first. Can an ordinary person guess that a pair of black stockings is worth over three thousand dollars?"
The teachers around shook their heads.
Someone whispered, "I don't know if it's true or not."
"Yeah, it's just a pair of stockings. I wouldn't believe they're worth that much even if you killed me."
Queenie raised an eyebrow at May. "You see, this is the majority's reaction. Besides, stockings like these are usually kept in a drawer. So, how could I have noticed Melissa's black stockings? And, stockings are nothing special. Even if Melissa randomly put them in the living room, why would I be foolish enough to not take anything valuable and only ask for a pair of stockings?"
Macy added at the right moment, "Right! We need to investigate thoroughly! Stockings worth over three thousand dollars! I don't believe it! We should find out if they're really worth that much, and if not, it’s ridiculous to accuse her like that!”
"Queenie, inform those parents of defamation!"
Upon hearing this, Queenie's face slightly changed.
As expected, a female colleague from the police asked, "Then may I ask where those black stockings are now? Please hand them over as they are important evidence."
As the words fell, Queenie suddenly stiffened, her expression becoming unnatural.
Could she tell the police comrade that her husband had torn those black stockings into shreds?
The more Queenie thought about it, the angrier she became, all because of that dog Benoit!
"Comrade police... I might not be able to hand them over. The stockings were damaged, so I threw them away."
At this moment, the teacher who had just been scolded by Miss White couldn't hold back and spoke up.
"Did you throw them away or sell them? Can a pair of branded stockings worth over three thousand dollars be destroyed in an instant?"
Someone chimed in, and the emotions and thoughts of the others were stirred as well.
Queenie noticed that many colleagues were secretly nodding.
The female police officer's gaze sharpened a bit. "From last night until now, not much time has passed. Even if you threw them away, we can find them in the trash bin. Where did you throw them?"
