Chapter 171 Barbara Tells Pollard
Pollard's body jerked, but in the end, he didn't say anything and followed Lilith out.
During the journey, Pollard remained silent.
When they were close to Clancy Villa, Lilith couldn't help but speak, "Pollard..."
With a bitter smile, Lilith asked, "Mom, do you really hate Queenie so much? Enough to get involved with the Blair family."
"That's not true, Mom," Lilith defended herself cunningly.
Pollard sighed and rubbed his forehead, exhausted. "Mom, I'm not a child anymore. I've pursued my graduate studies too. Do you really think I have no brain at all?"
Lilith's lips trembled, wanting to argue, but then heard the gritted teeth of Pollard's voice.
"I hate people from the Blair family!"
Lilith froze, as if she didn't expect Pollard to say such words.
Pollard got out of the car and stood at the entrance of Clancy Villa, looking at Lilith with some resentment.
"I know exactly what happened back then! I witnessed how the Blair family twisted the truth, ruining a female student's life! Mom, I didn't let Queenie get involved in all this because I was incapable! I didn't have what it takes to protect her, to ensure her safe escape from this matter, instead of supporting the idea that the Blair family is right! The Blair family, Leo is a beast! How could you...how could you collaborate with them!"
Pollard's eyes were filled with disappointment, a hint of tears forming in the corners, as he shook his head in agony.
"Just now, you intentionally let Leo distract Queenie, right? Just to give Monica and me some alone time?" Pollard smiled bitterly. "Mom, you're ridiculous!"
With these words, Pollard walked straight into Clancy Villa and knocked on Barbara's door.
Barbara, who had been deeply affected by Mr. Brown and harshly rejected by Simms, was now drinking alone in her room.
Startled to see Pollard lightly knocking twice before entering, she quickly tightened the neckline of her nightgown.
"What's wrong, brother?"
Pollard walked over, took the wine bottle from Barbara's hand, and poured himself a glass.
"I'm troubled inside. I wanted to talk to you. This time I came back, I found Mom to be incredibly unfamiliar."
Upon hearing this, Barbara sarcastically chuckled.
"Brother, let me tell you, when I came back this time, I felt like she wasn't our mother at all, as if someone had taken control of her. You know?"
"Barbara!" Pollard's voice grew louder. "Don't speak about Mom like that. I do have my grievances, but she is still our mother. As her children, we shouldn't go too far!"
Barbara shrugged. "Whatever, it doesn't matter. Let's raise our glasses to our heartbreaks."
"I didn't have a heartbreak." Pollard refused to clink glasses with Barbara. After a pause, he asked, "Barbara... if I got drunk and accidentally slept with Emily without being conscious about it, do you think Queenie would forgive me if I confessed?"
Barbara glanced at him sideways.
Pollard glanced at Benoit and said, "Bro, you don't have to say 'what if'. Hasn't this already happened? I'm not surprised, given Emily's impure thoughts."
"Don't interrupt. Just tell me, would Queenie mind?" Barbara's expression darkened slightly.
"Impossible!" Pollard replied firmly.
"What if I said it was unavoidable? What if someone manipulated the situation and drugged her, and the person who slept with her was Mr. Clancy? How would you react?" Barbara asked cautiously.
Pollard smiled and shook his head, hands on his hips as he looked at Barbara. "You guys believe the rumors from Coast City and come to talk to me about this. Do you really think I would believe that? Barbara, I unconditionally trust that Queenie would never betray me. Forget it, I won't talk to you about this. I'm going to call Mr. Clancy."
With that, Pollard dialed Benoit's phone number.
At this moment, Benoit was in a private room dealing with Leo's matters.
Seeing that it was Pollard calling, Benoit calmly answered in front of Queenie.
On the other end of the phone, Pollard's voice came through.
"Mr. Clancy, it's me."
"Yes," Benoit replied lightly, reaching out to hold Queenie's hand and caress it in his palm.
There was silence for a while on the other end of the phone before Pollard spoke again.
"Is Queenie still there?"
"She is," Benoit answered in a flat tone, not revealing any hint of strangeness.
"Mr. Clancy, can I ask you for a favor?" Pollard's voice sounded.
"Go ahead."
"Please protect Queenie for me and don't let Leo hurt her. If possible, also help that girl. She's very pitiful. Later, I'll trouble you to bring Queenie back."
Benoit glanced at Queenie and his eyes were filled with tenderness. "Don't worry, I will naturally protect Queenie."
After saying that, Benoit hung up the phone and confessed to Queenie, "Pollard asked me to protect you."
Seeing this scene, Leo couldn't help but burst out. "Weren't you with that nerd? How...how did you end up with Benoit?"
Leo glanced at their linked hands and continued, "Ms. Lorente, you actually crawled into Mr. Clancy's bed, no wonder you don't care about me."
Queenie took the opportunity to sit on Benoit's lap and said arrogantly, "Now that you know, I won't hide it from you anymore. After all, Mr. Clancy will definitely handle my affairs. Whoever I want to protect, he will also protect."
With that, Queenie glanced uncertainly at Benoit and asked, "Is that right?"
"Everything you said is true," Benoit responded with a face full of indulgence.
"Leo, don't bother Jennifer! She's a good student and about to take the SAT early for excellent grades. If you dare to bully her again, I won't let you off! I am no longer the Ms. Lorente you used to know!"
Leo sat on the ground, too hurt to stand up, but still clapped arrogantly.
"Oh, impressive! But you don't know, Mr. Clancy is crippled and losing his power. Do you really think he can protect you?"
Upon hearing this, Kate clenched her fist and glanced at Benoit. "Mr. Clancy, let me finish him off, eliminating any future troubles for you!"
Benoit gave her a stern look, and Kate reluctantly put her hand down.
Leo became even more smug. "Ms. Lorente, Benoit is a coward, afraid to finish me off..."
Benoit patted Queenie's leg, signaling her to stand up.
Only when Queenie stood up did he slowly push the wheelchair towards the corner of the wall. Without hesitation, he grabbed Leo's hair, lifted his head, and forcefully slammed it against the white wall.
Instantly, a splash of blood bloomed on the wall, a horrifying sight.
The impact made Leo's head ache as if it had been split open. In his ears, Benoit's calm voice rang out.
"I won't kill you, as I don't want to dirty my hands with scum like you. One life lost for you, it's not worth it."
Saying this, Benoit looked at Kate.
Kate's eyes instantly turned bloodshot as she tightly clenched her fist.
Manley lifted Leo's head and slapped him a few more times.
"A kid like you, calling Benoit's name, huh!?"
After being released, Leo slumped against the wall, but his arrogance remained.
"You dare to beat me! You're dead! Once my dad comes, you're done for!"
Benoit nodded. "Alright, I'll call Charlie to pick you up."
As he finished speaking, Benoit signaled to Manley with his eyes.
Manley immediately dialed Charlie's number.
Queenie couldn't quite grasp Benoit's intentions. She had dealt with Charlie before, and he was someone extremely biased towards his own son. He would never speak justly!
Manley hung up the phone and motioned to his subordinates.
At that moment, several henchmen surrounded them.
Leo also couldn't figure out Benoit's plan and became nervous. "What...what are you guys trying to do?"
