Chapter 153 Mr. Clancy's Unfortunate Words

Was this still the same woman who had just administered a particularly harsh beating? How did she change her tune so quickly?

"Don't be afraid," Benoit reassured Queenie, patting her hand gently. He turned to Mr. Brown, his voice as cold as a corpse, and spoke, "No need to fear. Just let my husband kill him."

Queenie leaned toward Benoit's ear and whispered the details of what happened.

Benoit's face darkened as he turned to Barbara for her input. "What do you want Mr. Clancy to do for you?"

Before Barbara could respond, Lilith yelled, "Benoit, spare us your pretense! My people told me that Mary just gave you an ultimatum: save either Queenie or Barbara. Without any hesitation, you chose Queenie!"

If not for that, she wouldn't have worried and gone to collect the room key, wanting to come up and check on things.

Who could have known things would go wrong!

Ignoring her mother's provocation, Barbara looked at Mr. Clancy with a menacing gaze. "Have your people strip him of his shirt and pants, just leave his underwear on. I want to thrash him! Give him a taste of what he gave me!"

"Alright!"

As Benoit's voice fell, Manley and Kate immediately stripped Mr. Brown and restrained him on the bed.

With one hand supporting Queenie's shoulder and the other brandishing a whip, Barbara began lashing Mr. Brown.

Whip after whip!

She didn't stop until Mr. Brown's appearance matched her twisted one.

Throwing away the whip, Barbara nearly passed out. Queenie and Benoit hurriedly took her to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the director immediately arranged a rest room for Benoit and appointed the best doctor for Barbara's confidential treatment.

After the director left, the only ones remaining in the rest room's sofa were Queenie and Benoit.

Exhausted, Queenie rubbed her temples, and Benoit pulled her into his embrace.

Resting in his familiar warmth, Queenie couldn't help but recall Lilith's earlier words and asked, "Did Mary really give you an ultimatum?"

"Mm," Benoit confirmed, not hiding the truth.

"You chose me?" Queenie raised her eyes, filled with astonishment.

"Yes," Benoit nodded firmly.

In an instant, a wave of shock and disbelief surged through Queenie's heart.

Throughout her life, whenever something happened, she was always the one sacrificed.

Just like during the house fire, her own family didn't hesitate to abandon her.

Whenever something good happened, everyone would immediately think of Monica.

Yet, between Barbara and her, Benoit chose her without hesitation. How could she not feel moved?

Queenie clasped her hands tightly.

Climbing onto Benoit's neck, Queenie couldn't resist giving him a sweet peck and asked, "Why?"

"There's no why? You're the most important person in my heart! You're my wife, and I have to save you."

"But Barbara is your niece," Queenie's lips curved even more.

"That's only a niece!" Benoit looked at Queenie steadfastly.

Queenie felt overjoyed in her heart, but a hint of surprise flashed across her face. "Then, if something happened to me and your brother, who would you save?"

"You!" Benoit didn't hesitate.

Queenie's lips couldn't help but curl up again, and her voice became more coquettish. "You're not lying to me, right?"

"No."

"In that case, between me and your older brother, who would you choose?"

"You!" Benoit lowered his head and playfully nipped her, "I choose you!"

Benoit could tell that Queenie was in a good mood.

He couldn't understand why she was so happy.

Saving his own wife, wasn't that normal?

He couldn't help but flick Queenie's nose lightly. "But Queenie, don't ask me anymore, if you and my mom both fell into the water, who would I save?"

Queenie blinked her eyes and mischievously curved her lips.

"Well, let's assume that neither me nor your mom knows how to swim, and both of us fell into the water at the same time, and you don't have a lifebuoy or someone else to ask for help. Who would you save?"

Could the hypothetical situation be any more detailed?
