Chapter 117 Mr. Clancy's Reason for Not Holding the Wedding
Compared to Lilith's anxiety, Benoit appeared calm and unhurried. He smiled and replied, "No rush. I will definitely give Queenie the recognition she deserves. As for the wedding, it will be grand. But there are some matters I need to attend to first."
Benoit's response was ambiguous, but Lilith continued to press on, being assertive.
"Now that your second brother is taking care of the company's affairs, what else could you be busy with, Benoit? Don't blame Queenie for being nosy. But are you perhaps not willing to marry her?"
"Don't worry about marrying Queenie Queenie herself isn’t worried." Benoit then mentioned several names in succession. "Ryan, Eric... Do you know these troublemakers? They frightened Queenie yesterday."
Lilith's complexion immediately changed.
"The reason I came to Clancy Villa today was actually to see my second brother. I heard that he has connections in the North District Police Station, and I wanted to ask him for help in finding the mastermind behind these troublemakers."
Lilith's body went cold as she was caught off guard by this sudden revelation.
At that moment, a servant entered the living room and said to Prescott, "Young Master just called and said he can't make it. He couldn't reach you on your phone, so he asked me to pass on the message."
"Very well." Prescott waved his hand, signaling the servant to leave.
Lilith visibly sighed in relief.
She wanted to say something more, but Prescott Clancy gave her a piercing glance, making her shut her mouth in annoyance.
"Benoit, come upstairs with me. I have a few questions to ask you."
Saying that, Manley pushed Benoit along with Prescott up the stairs.
Once inside the study, Prescott Clancy asked directly, "Benoit, what do you mean? What else could you possibly have on your plate? Why haven't you had the wedding with Queenie yet?"
When the topic of the wedding came up, Benoit's expression darkened.
"Just a little longer."
Prescott stomped his cane in frustration. "What are you waiting for? Queenie is sensitive, and I'm worried she's overthinking things."
"Dad, Queenie and I have officially registered our marriage. We are legally husband and wife now. As for the wedding, we'll have to wait a bit longer."
"How long?" Prescott Clancy focused his sharp gaze on him.
Benoit sighed softly. "At least until she resolves things with Pollard and has completely moved on from him. Only then can she walk down the aisle with me. I want the day she marries me to be the day she has eyes and heart only for me. Besides, I also want to wait until I can stand on my own before we have the wedding. I don't want her to become a joke in Coast City."
Prescott Clancy glanced at Benoit's legs, his eyes darkening. "They haven't found out yet?"
"No," Benoit replied lightly.
Prescott stroked his beard, nodding. "If the Black Gang still has remnants, then it's indeed troublesome."
It would also affect Queenie's safety.
Keeping it a secret was a way to protect her.
"Alright! I don't have any more questions. You and your sister-in-law have given me a headache and raised my blood pressure."
"Then I'll leave." Benoit pushed his wheelchair and suddenly turned to look at Prescott. "Was it you who told my brother not to come back?"
Prescott didn't answer. "His birthday is coming up in a few days, and he has to know."
Benoit gave Prescott a meaningful look. "I'm afraid that my sister-in-law might act desperately before that."
Prescott Clancy remained silent.
Benoit left it at that, going downstairs to leave with Queenie.
Before leaving, Benoit looked at Lilith. "It's quite entertaining to see you rushing into confessing every time!"
Lilith's expression changed upon hearing that. "Benoit, what did you just tell Prescott?"
"Telling Prescott? Wasn't it your own slip-up?" Benoit gazed at Lilith with a smirk.
"Me? What did I tell him?" Lilith was completely baffled.
