Chapter 137 Pollard's Father Found Something

Pollard's heart raced as he got up and noticed a stain of blood on the white sheets, confirming some of his suspicions.

Staggering out of the room, he asked, "Where's Emily?"

Emily's brother hesitated, wearing a look of wanting to speak but choosing not to. Ultimately, he murmured, "What do you want with my sister?"

Pollard turned pale, unable to say anything.

Just then, Emily walked out of the room with an unfavorable complexion, limping towards Pollard and forcing a forced smile.

"Pollard, what do you need me for?"

Seeing Emily's walking posture, Pollard's heart sank.

He grabbed Emily's hand and walked outside, asking, "Last night... last night..."

Emily's eyes were teary as she smiled and said, "Pollard, nothing happened last night!"

In an instant, it felt as if something had exploded in Pollard's mind.

His face turned pale, and he took a step back, muttering to himself, "That's a relief. I... I need to go find Queenie."

Upon hearing this, Emily's face turned even paler, feeling as if a knife had stabbed her in the chest.

She never expected that she and her brother's implications were so obvious, yet Pollard would still mention Queenie at this time.

Although she intended to frame Pollard, she truly loved him! She had changed her major in college for him and had followed him into archaeology. She had loved him for so many years!

Although he didn't take her virginity last night, she had done artificial insemination for him, sacrificing her virginity to conceive his child. Wasn't this equivalent to him taking her first night away?

How could he say such hurtful words!

Pollard hurriedly packed his things, stumbling as he dragged his luggage away.

Emily's brother became anxious, "Why didn't you tell him the truth? We paid that old man fifty thousand dollars for this! How can we spend so much money without telling him?"

Emily clenched her teeth, "Trust me, it won't have much effect if we tell him now. It's best to wait until I'm pregnant. And besides, I..."

Playing mind games with Pollard is all about making him feel guilty. The more guilt he feels now, the better he will treat me in the future, and the more money he will give to our family," Emily's brother nodded, acknowledging the logic, "It's different when you've been to college!"

On the other hand, Lilith's husband, Brandon, first went to the police station and talked to acquaintances to find out what happened. He asked, "Is the evidence conclusive?"

"It's very solid evidence."

"Is there any possibility of a misunderstanding or something else?" Brandon inquired.

The other party shook their head.

"Alright, I understand." Brandon wrapped his coat tightly around him and had his acquaintance arrange a visit.

When Lilith saw Brandon, her hair was disheveled, and she was emotionally distraught.

"Husband, save me! That wicked Queenie is trying to kill me!"

Brandon remained calm, sitting down without a word, silently staring at Lilith.

After Lilith had ranted about Queenie for a long time with no response, she became increasingly anxious.

"Why are you looking at me like that, husband?"

Leaning against the back of the chair, Brandon exuded a hint of the dominance that came with being from a wealthy family and calmly spoke, "If this is how you plan to talk to me, there's no need to continue. Lilith, I'm not foolish."

Lilith was left stunned, her face growing increasingly embarrassed.

It felt as if all her complaints just now had been a one-woman show.

"Why are you doing this? Queenie is our future daughter-in-law. She is a good person, and our two children have a good relationship. Why do you want to frame her?"

"Because she can't have children!" Lilith stated confidently.

Brandon frowned, "That's not a reason. Whether to break up or not should be decided by the two children, not us meddling."

Lilith quickly grabbed Brandon's hand, "Husband, please help me. I don't want to go to jail."

"If you want me to help, you must do as I say," Brandon's eyes were deeply mysterious.

Lilith hastily replied, "I'll listen to you, I'll do whatever you say."

"Good. First, you have to apologize to Queenie in person."

Before Brandon could finish his sentence, Lilith exclaimed in shock, "As an elder, I have to apologize to her?"

Brandon swiftly got up, intending to leave.

Lilith's expression changed, and she quickly changed her tune, "Husband, I'll do as you say!"

"Alright. I'm going to find Queenie now."

Brandon left the police station and asked his assistant, "Find out where Queenie is now. Prepare a gift for me to bring."

Soon, the assistant located Queenie's whereabouts and led Brandon to Bund Bay.

Standing in front of the familiar apartment door, Brandon frowned and looked at his assistant, "Are you sure Queenie is here?"

Before the assistant could respond, Benoit voluntarily opened the door, "Second brother, welcome."
