Chapter 164 Mr. Clancy Discovered the Relationship Between Mr. Clancy and Queenie!
As David spoke, he led Scarlett back into the house.
David and Scarlett's room was spacious, with a separate area for receiving guests and a bedroom.
At this moment, David sat with Scarlett on the central sofa.
Queenie pushed Benoit into the room as well.
Upon seeing Benoit, Scarlett immediately stood up with a start, lowering her head and sincerely apologized, "I was wrong. Please don't tell Dad about this, okay? The food Queenie ate by mistake was something I bought from the black market."
Benoit raised an eyebrow, his tone carrying a hint of severity, "What's the point of buying that kind of thing, sister-in-law? You know very well it's the kind of thing Dad hates the most!"
Scarlett, in her forties, was being scolded like a child.
She hung her head, explaining in a pitiful tone, "Benoit is not married yet, naturally he doesn't understand the pleasure that comes with it. I just bought some trinkets from an acquaintance, pretended to be poisoned, and then let my husband save me. Besides, I'm currently writing a script, and I wanted to personally verify this plot... I... I didn't buy it to harm anyone. I'm sorry."
After speaking, Scarlett gave a deep bow.
Queenie froze, never expecting Mrs. Clancy to be so unpretentious.
With teary eyes, Scarlett looked at her husband, "What should we do? I've created an affair with my own hands."
David embraced his wife, comforting her in a gentle voice, "It's alright."
"Maybe not," Benoit groped the armrest of the sofa and spoke in a casual tone, "Dad despises bringing these things home. Unless he doesn't know about this..."
Before Benoit could finish his words, David kicked him directly, "Still not finished? Scaring Scarlett, huh?"
Benoit raised an eyebrow, "Brother, I think I want to drink your bottle of wine. Maybe after drinking it, my mood will improve and I'll forget about this matter."
After speaking, he glanced at Queenie and whispered, "Brother's wine is really good, limited edition nationwide, worth millions per bottle."
Queenie was speechless.
David kicked him once again, "You think you can drink my wine with your attitude like that? You're dreaming!"
That being said, David turned to Scarlett and ordered, "Go get my wine and wine glasses."
Scarlett brought over the wine glasses and poured for everyone.
Just as she lifted the glass to take a sip, she heard David ask with utmost certainty, "Tell me, when did you two get involved with each other?"
Scarlett almost sprayed out the wine.
Realizing her loss of composure, she glared at her husband, "What are you talking about?"
Benoit raised an eyebrow, "Can Big Brother be any more refined?"
"You've got no shame!" David glanced at Benoit, "You really think I'm blind?"
Scarlett nudged her husband's elbow, lowering her voice.
"Husband, if you want to help me, don't help so obviously! Queenie is Benoit's almost niece-in-law. By saying that, aren't you comparing Benoit to a beast?" Scarlett said.
David chuckled lightly, "Didn't you see their interactions? Just by looking, you can tell it's not the first time!"
Normal people would panic in such a situation.
Look at these two, so composed and calm!
As he spoke, David raised his foot to scold his brother again.
But just as his foot was raised, Queenie became a little angry and said, "Don't kick my husband again! He had a leg injury from a car accident."
David smirked and laughed, "Queenie, sorry, I got used to kicking students at school."
Just as he finished speaking, David's pupils suddenly dilated, and his voice raised a few notches, "What did you just call him? Husband?"
Scarlett was also excited and continuously pinched David.
Both of them were scared to death.
