Chapter 155 Imagined Crush Kicks Open the Door

"We're here to visit the patient, of course!" Gilda raised the fancy fruit basket in her hand and walked in without even knocking on the door.

Barbara, who was resting at first, sat up when she heard the commotion.

Instantly, Gilda put on an expression of pity. "Barbara, my poor little thing, how did you get hurt like this? It breaks my heart to see you like this."

Queenie stood by, sneering.

She had never heard Gilda show such concern for herself before.

But the last time they met, she had cut off all ties with Gilda as her mother.

She couldn't be bothered now.

Barbara furrowed her brow and looked at Gilda and Monica. "How did you know I got injured?"

"It's all over the internet!" Gilda blurted out without hesitation.

Monica chimed in, "You didn't know? The rumors have gone wild. There were even articles by public accounts, saying Mr. Brown abused you, that he's into crazy things like playing with whips in bed... Reporters even captured the two of you leaving the hotel room one after another!"

As she finished speaking, Lilith burst in and glared at Gilda and her daughter.

"Why did you two tell her all this!"

Barbara's face had turned pale, and she quickly tremblingly took out her phone, wanting to check the news that Gilda and Monica mentioned.

Queenie hurriedly grabbed her hand. "No need to look. Mr. Clancy and Simms arranged for people to delete it right away."

"Simms?" Barbara raised her gaze and looked at Queenie.

Queenie nodded. "He should have helped. That's what I heard."

Barbara stood frozen in place.

Seeing this, Gilda quickly incited, "Barbara, please don't be like this. I really feel sorry for you."

Lilith felt annoyed and interrupted Gilda, "Are you done with your act? Finish up and leave!"

"Not yet..." Gilda sighed, not even finishing her sentence.

She took a deep breath and said, "Actually, I'm here to give you all a warning."

She looked at Queenie and continued, "This person is a disaster. If something happens to Barbara, my good girl, it's not unrelated to my eldest daughter, here."

Queenie couldn't help but laugh at the statement. "Gilda, what are you trying to say!"

When Gilda heard Queenie call her by name, she exploded.

"Queenie, you dare to call your mother by name! And don't you understand what I'm saying? It's because of you that things are bad, no matter who is with you, they won't have a good life! You always influence the people around you! Barbara is a perfect example!"

Monica whispered in agreement.

"Yeah, Barbara, you should stay away from my sister. I slept with her once when I was little, and the next day, I broke my leg. The kitten I raised, she touched it, and the next day, it died. My sister... she's really not good news." Gilda pushed Monica forward as she spoke. "But Monica is a lucky star in our family. When she was born, we received a big order. Believe me, sometimes, you just can't ignore metaphysics! Besides, you're the same age as Monica, spending more time together won't hurt."

Lilith seemed persuaded and nodded. "That's right, Barbara. Listen to them. This plan didn't originally turn out this way; it's all because of this unlucky Queenie. Otherwise, you wouldn't be in such a miserable state."

"Shut up, all of you!" Barbara stood up straight, picked up her clothes, and walked out.

Lilith grabbed her. "Barbara, you're still injured! Where are you going?"

"I'm going to find Simms. I want to ask him. Ask him why he didn't come to save me last night..."

Last night was completely different from what she had imagined! She thought her crush would kick the door open in a heroic manner to beat up that scoundrel. But no! He had no idea how desperate she felt as she was whipped again and again.

Barbara broke free from Lilith's grip and, with a pale face, stormed out of the hospital and hailed a cab straight to the Romero family mansion. As soon as she walked in, she saw Simms sitting in the living room, as if he knew she would come.

In tears, Barbara looked at Simms, the face she had loved for many years. "Simms, why didn't you come to save me?"

Before Simms could answer, a woman in revealing pajamas came downstairs, calling out in a sweet voice, "Simms."
