Chapter 128 A Gathering of Three People
Upon seeing Pollard, Lilith cried out with excitement, desperately calling, "Son, save me! Hurry and save me! Queenie, this wicked woman, reported to the police and had your mother arrested."
Hearing this, Pollard, in a daze, dropped his luggage at the entrance and hurriedly stepped into the living room, reproaching Queenie. "What's going on here?"
Queenie felt a pang of pain in her heart, her disappointment barely concealed.
There was no joyful reunion after a long separation, only an unmistakable sense of disappointment.
Seeing Queenie's silence, Pollard anxiously looked at the police officers and asked, "Officers, is there a misunderstanding here? These two are my girlfriend and my mother. It should be an internal family conflict."
The police officers performed their duty and said, "This is no longer considered an internal family conflict; it's a crime. As for whether it's a misunderstanding, we will investigate and clarify later on. We will neither tolerate a bad person nor falsely accuse a good person! However, the current evidence points to Mrs. Lilith deliberately framing and incriminating Mrs. Queenie, so the arrest has been approved. Here is the arrest warrant."
Upon speaking, the police officers presented the document.
Pollard carefully examined the document and realized it was genuine. His face turned pale, and he stumbled backward a few steps.
The police officer glanced at Pollard and said, "Please step aside."
Frantically, Pollard held onto the police officer's hand and pleaded, "Comrade, can we resolve this privately?"
The police officer looked at Queenie and asked, "As the involved party, do you agree to a resolution?"
"I do not agree," Queenie insisted.
Lilith felt embarrassed and resentful. She had never been arrested before and now found herself in such a predicament.
Hearing Queenie's continued opposition, she stomped her feet in anger.
"Son, look at this! Look at what a good daughter-in-law you've chosen! She wishes for my death! Can't we handle family matters privately? Must we involve the police? Son, now you can see her true nature clearly, right? Never marry such a wicked woman!"
Queenie thought about the conditions she had set for Lilith and couldn't help but sneer.
How could someone like this ever confess to the things she had done?
She probably would never repent even until death!
Upon hearing Queenie's tone, Pollard's eyes turned red with anger. He rushed in front of her and sternly commanded, "Queenie, I order you to reconcile immediately."
"Why should I? On what grounds can you make such a demand?" Queenie's eyes were filled with deep disappointment towards Pollard.
"I'm sorry, the arrest warrant has been issued, and we must take Mrs. Lilith with us now. As for your internal matters, you'll have to discuss it amongst yourselves."
Saying that, the police officers motioned to take Lilith away.
Emily, the junior martial sister, had been waiting outside for too long and rushed in. Upon seeing the situation, she asked, "Senior brother, what happened?"
Seeing his younger martial sister, Pollard was reminded of the matter of returning to Coast City this time.
He awkwardly walked up to Lilith and lowered his voice to ask, "Mom, where did you put my bonus card?"
Lilith immediately became cautious and asked, "Why are you asking about that?"
With an uncomfortable expression, Pollard whispered, "Something happened to my little martial sister's family, and I promised to lend her money. Mom, just tell me where my bonus card is."
Lilith, upon hearing this, suddenly laughed and looked at Queenie before deliberately speaking loudly.
"So, you came back for your little martial sister! Alright then, your bonus card is in the second drawer of the bedside table in my room, and the password is the one I mentioned to you before."
With these words, Pollard found it difficult to meet Queenie's gaze.
At this moment, Benoit was pushed in by Manley, lightly laughing and asking, "Why is it so lively here?"
