Chapter 156 The Woman I've Set My Eyes On
Hearing the woman's voice, Barbara felt like she was struck by lightning. "Who is she?"
Simms had never had any other woman by his side! To some extent, Simms, like Mr. Clancy, was resistant to women.
Simms continued flipping through the company documents, expressionless, and without looking up, he said, "It was sent by your mother."
"My mom?" Barbara's voice raised a few notches.
"Yeah, she sent it yesterday. Thank her for me," Simms replied with a cold and detached voice.
Barbara's heart sank. "My mom arranged for me to be engaged to you and sent that woman to you?"
"Yeah," Simms put down the documents and looked into Barbara's pale face with no emotions.
She could barely stand and stepped back. "So you couldn't come because of her?"
"No," Simms raised his gaze. "You know it. No one can force me into something I don't want."
"Then why?" Barbara's heart felt like it was being torn apart, and her tears couldn't stop. "If you don't like me, why did you help me delete negative news online?"
"For you, I am Benoit's niece, that's all," Simms spoke with honesty.
"That's all?" Barbara shook her head, rushing forward to grab Simms' clothes. "No, I don't believe it! Is it because I'm too young? You're saying you don't want a younger generation?"
"No, Barbara, I am not like Mr. Clancy," Simms frowned, prying Barbara's hand off. "Mr. Clancy is patient and restrained when it comes to Queenie. I'm different. The women I desire, regardless of age or status, I would do anything to have them. It just so happens that I haven't desired you in these past years."
"So, you simply don't love me, is that right?"
"Yes, I have never loved you," Simms stood up swiftly, looking towards the woman next to him. "Come, I'll take you to buy clothes."
"Alright, Simms was so annoying last night, ripping my clothes apart."
The woman walked over enticingly, aiming to hold Simms' hand, but his gaze was too intimidating, causing her to retract her hand reluctantly.
With that woman, Simms got into the car while Barbara stumbled out of the Romero family mansion.
The sky unleashed heavy rain, pouring down on Barbara, cold as a blade, cutting through her heart.
She walked on the road, completely lost.
Simms' car slowly passed by her.
Barbara looked and saw the woman in the car, smiling brilliantly.
And all the while, Simms never once glanced at her.
Barbara chuckled, feeling as if her heart had fallen onto a field of broken glass, rolling back and forth.
Years of love, it turned out to be her own wishful thinking.
She recalled the fantasies she had before.
A man kicking the door open, raising his fist to hit the man who was about to harm her, raining blow after blow upon him, then tightly holding her in his arms and saying, "I will never let you suffer again."
Now thinking about it, it was truly painful!
Inside the car, Simms made a call to Benoit. "Barbara is getting drenched in the rain outside of my house."
"Does it hurt your heart?"
"No, just informing you. And she probably won't bother me anymore."
Upon hearing this, Benoit knew what means Simms had used, and replied, "Thank you."
Not loving someone and letting them give up, having no fantasies, is the best course of action.
"Okay," Simms responded casually, hanging up the phone and writing a check for the woman in the car.
"Understand what should be said and what shouldn't, got it?"
"I understand, I understand." This woman was sent by Lilith to drug Simms and seduce him.
But she was sensible, having done nothing last night, she immediately confessed.
Simms didn't touch her either.
"Also, do me one more favor."
"What favor?" The woman paused for a moment, then quickly understood. "Do you want me to provoke that woman again?"
"No need. My people will secretly send you to Lilith's father's bed, and you will be in charge of seducing him. If you get caught, you can say that I forced you to do it and that you had no choice."
Simms glanced at the woman and said, "Lilith provoked me, it's just a matter of etiquette."
These words were also meant to rebuke her.
The woman's heart trembled with fear, and she quickly nodded in agreement.
Simms found it boring and ordered the bodyguard to take the person to Lilith's father. He himself got off the car.
It began to rain heavily.
Simms took shelter in a bus shelter.
The bodyguard shouted at him, "Master, I'll have the driver come pick you up."
"Okay," Simms replied indifferently.
In the next instant, a slender woman hurriedly ran into the bus shelter.
