Chapter 97 Barbara Clancy Was Shocked
"If it's nonsense, you can just ask Mr. Clancy and find out," Anastasia raised an eyebrow, looked at Benoit, and got up with a taunting smile.
"I am old, and it’s uncomfortable to sit for too long. I’ll let you young folks have a gathering."
Having said that, she glanced at the woman still kneeling on the ground and said, "You worthless thing, help me up!"
The woman realized what Anastasia meant and quickly got up, supporting Anastasia as she left.
At this moment, Barbara Clancy thought of Queenie living with Mr. Clancy and the things they had been saying these days. Her face turned even paler.
She hurriedly walked towards Queenie, gripping her arms tightly, as if a person on the verge of death was holding onto a piece of driftwood.
"Queenie, tell me! This isn't true! None of this is true! It's just the old lady's nonsense!"
"Let her go." Benoit frowned, his displeasure evident, and sternly reprimanded, "You’re hurting Queenie. If there's something you want to know, come to me. I'll tell you everything."
Barbara Clancy realized Mr. Clancy's attitude and trembled as if struck by electricity. She released Queenie's arms and turned to him, unable to believe it.
"So...is it all true?"
"Yes. It's all my fault." Benoit willingly took the blame.
But Queenie couldn't bear it any longer and interjected, "It was your mother who gave me to Mr. Clancy.
"Do it. On the day of the incident, I hit Gerald on the head and ran to your brother for help. Ignoring my plea, your brother chose to go on a business trip and handed me over to your mother, saying that she would protect me. I believed him! Because of that trust, I drank the glass of milk your mother handed me. When I woke up, I was lying on Mr. Clancy's bed."
Queenie's face was filled with anger and embarrassment, but she didn't want Benoit to take all the blame.
"I can't deny that both Mr. Clancy and I hold some responsibility, but the instigator of this whole thing is your mother, Barbara Clancy. We didn't want to deceive you. In the beginning, we didn't know how to explain this humiliating and complicated relationship to you. But later on, we admitted it, and yet you didn't believe us."
Barbara Clancy's heart trembled. Her eyes turned red, and she shook her head continuously.
"No... How could my mother... do such a thing?"
Almost roaring, Barbara Clancy uttered her last sentence.
Although Queenie hadn't married her brother, after three years of being together, she had always considered her as family!
Barbara Clancy looked at Benoit as if she had been struck by a huge blow.
And Benoit nodded heavily in response to her.
"Pushing Queenie onto my bed and then telling Grandfather about this matter. I'm a complete failure in this family. After behaving immorally under the influence of alcohol, Grandfather will never hand over the management rights of Clancy Group to me."
Barbara Clancy's body trembled, and her face turned extremely pale.
Upon hearing about the management rights of Clancy Group, she suddenly understood everything.
"So, to seize control, my mother didn't hesitate to sacrifice Queenie, is that it?" Barbara Clancy was in so much pain that she could hardly speak.
"No, your mother never had any interest in me. She has already planned the next step for your brother."
"That's impossible!" Barbara Clancy almost asserted. "My mother always treated you as her daughter-in-law."
Queenie sneered, "Can a daughter-in-law be pushed onto someone else's bed?"
Barbara Clancy choked but still shook her head with red-rimmed eyes.
"No, I still don't believe it! I can't believe my mother would do this to you. I need to go and ask her!"
Saying that, Barbara Clancy ran out of the Romero family's villa in a state of confusion.
Queenie was originally worried about Barbara Clancy's condition and wanted to catch up, but Benoit stopped her.
"She will find out sooner or later. She's not a child anymore. She needs to learn how to face the truth."
With those words, Benoit arranged for someone to secretly follow Barbara Clancy, protecting her all the way to Clancy Villa.
Barbara Clancy got out of the car and rushed straight into her mother's bedroom.
