Chapter 11 The Valiant Catgirl
When Henry opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the study, and it was already dark outside.
He checked his watch. "It was already 8 p.m. What did I forget?" he wondered.
The sound of knocking made Henry immediately think of Mila. He thought, 'Is she hungry?'
As he opened the door, he was met with a pair of blue eyes of Mila's, filled with a hint of complaint. It made him feel a bit guilty, as if he had done something wrong. This catgirl really knew how to use her cute appearance to attract him.
"I knocked for a while, and you didn't respond. I thought you had been assassinated," Mila said, rolling her eyes. Her behavior of rolling her eyes, combined with her shirt, sparking endless imagination.
He cleared his throat, "I accidentally fell asleep." Henry changed the subject. "Are you hungry?"
Mila's stomach growled. She only had grits for lunch, and it had already been digested.
Mila nodded, her cheeks slightly blushing, which surprised Henry.
Henry was pleased that Mila could let her guard down so quickly. It was something to be proud of when a girl believed in him.
In fact, it was what happened at noon made Mila let her guard down. Mila thought that someone who could care for the people was worth trusting.
Henry took Mila to the dining room. After a few minutes, he brought out some hot hamburgers from a hidden place.
His internal space was static, so things he put in there remained the same when he removed them, like the three hamburgers he removed.
"Enjoy it!" Henry pushed two hamburgers in front of Mila and unwrapped one, taking a big bite.
Mila wrinkled her nose, smelling the meat, her eyes sparkling. She quickly followed Henry's lead, unwrapping her burger and taking a big bite.
"Ah, delicious," Mila mumbled with a mouthful of burger.
Henry smiled. Having tasted interstellar food, he knew how delicious the Earth's food could be.
Mila's appetite had been proven at noon when she finished two bowls of grits. Now, she was fixing her eyes on the hamburgers in Henry's hands.
"You eat so fast," Henry said, handing over the half-eaten burger.
Mila's eyes lit up, but then she shook her head and licked her lips. "I'm already at half full."
"Go ahead!" Henry offered the burger again. "I'm not hungry now."
In fact, he had already eaten before the time travel, but seeing the burger made him crave it again.
"Can I have it?" Mila, with a slightly red face, took the half-eaten burger and took a big bite.
For Mila, who was used to skipping meals, having something to eat was already satisfying, let alone such a delicious burger.
"Do you have anywhere to go?" Henry asked, watching the catgirl devour her food.
"What?" Mila was taken aback, opening her eyes with surprise.
"Here, have some water!" Henry poured a glass of water and said, "If you have nowhere to go, do you want to help me with something?"
He needed help, and he observed that this catgirl was quite capable.
Mila finished her burger and drank the water, taking a deep breath. "Are you serious?"
"I am really serious!" Henry nodded.
Mila hesitated for a moment, then lowered her head and said in a low voice, "But... I can only kill others."
"Oh?" Henry's eyes lit up, and he quickly said, "That's great! Are you skilled in assassinating?"
Mila playfully pointed at her chin, wiggled her ears, and said, "Hmm, I can defeat twenty people like you."
Henry sprayed the water he had just drunk, and in the next moment, Mila's body quickly retreated six feet, avoiding the water.
Then, Henry saw Mila agilely climb onto the beam and disappear from his sight with a few swift movements. He searched carefully with his eyes, but he couldn't find Mila's shadow.
"Hey! Are you looking for me?"
Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind Henry. His shoulder was tapped, making his heart jump. He quickly turned around and saw Mila standing playfully behind him.
"Amazing!"
Henry praised her with a thumbs up, "You're amazing, a skilled assassin."
You can imagine an assassin who can silently stand behind you with a sharp military knife and then slit your throat silently. It was chilling just to think about it.
Mila raised her chin proudly and said, "I am a great warrior of the cat orc."
"Helping me with something," Henry said seriously. "Don't worry, I won't ask you to kill for no reason. You just need to stay by my side."
Mila's blue eyes stared at Henry's black pupils for a while before she turned her slightly blushing face away and said softly, "I need to eat a bowl of rice porridge every day, and if I want to leave, you can't stop me."
"No problem."
Henry agreed. Eating rice porridge was a small matter. This catgirl foodie would find it hard to leave after he reproduced all the delicious food from Earth here.
