Chapter 76 The Bubbling Beverage
Today was a good day for the commoners of Eldoria, as a portion of the houses had been completed and were ready for inspection before they can move in.
Henry was here to inspect the houses. He designed them as a residential community with trees, although currently, only the withered branches were visible.
The cement houses, simply coated with a layer of cement, have a simple and minimalist appearance, which excites many commoners.
These houses were several times better than the crude adobe houses the commoners used to live in. Stone houses were rare in Eldoria, except for the Lord's Manor.
Henry randomly chose a house and walked in. Before he could even push the wooden door open, Mila had already entered, cautiously scanning the entire house. Only after confirming that everything was in order did she allow Henry to enter.
"Take it easy, you're too tense." Henry gently patted Mila's head and reassured her, "The War Wolf Battle Squad has already searched the place in advance, so you can rest assured."
Mila let out a sigh of relief and nodded, but only she knew whether she had truly taken Henry's words to heart.
Henry walked into the house and found that the layout was very similar to his design plan. It was a four-bedroom house with a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen, totaling 1291.67 square feet. This spacious layout easily accommodated a family of six without any issues.
"It's so small!" Ellie exclaimed in surprise. The house was much smaller than her own room.
For an apartment, the rooms were not very large, but for the average person, they were quite satisfactory.
In fact, there were apartments available with varying numbers of rooms based on individual needs, ranging from two-bedroom to three-bedroom and even four-bedroom units, each with a living room.
As for the decoration, even a simple cement room was enough to satisfy the commoners, and the extent of the decoration depended on their needs.
Henry had actually provided many options, but it seemed that the commoners weren't very enthusiastic about the decorations, except for a few wealthy families who inquired.
It was easy to understand. The commoners didn't have extra money at hand to consider decoration. As long as the doors and windows were in place, they were already content.
"It seems we need to ensure they have surplus food first. Otherwise, they won't be able to afford it."
Henry closed the door and continued to inspect seven or eight more houses, but he found no major issues.
Just as he was about to move on to the next one, he saw Vincent's family moving their belongings.
"Hello, Lord Henry!" Vincent's family quickly greeted him. They hadn't expected to meet Henry at their doorway.
"Is your house?" Henry was a bit surprised, as this was the set of houses he was planning to inspect.
"Yes, my Lord!"
Vincent's face lit up with a brilliant smile because the house he was assigned was a spacious 2152.78 square feet, a benefit of working for the official department.
"Let's go and take a look. I remember you had some decorations done."
Henry chuckled. Vincent was one of the few who had asked him about decoration ideas.
"Please, follow me." Vincent hurriedly led the way.
Those who worked for the Lord's Manor had their perks, such as Vincent's 2152.78 square feet, of which there were only a few.
Upon entering, it was completely different from the other rooms. The walls were finely plastered with cement, smooth to the touch, and the floor was covered with wooden boards, with simple tables and chairs inside.
The room had only a bed, but this simple layout surprised and pleased Mila, Ellie, and Willow. It was comfortable and cozy.
"Vincent, you've only done half of the decoration, right? There are still many things to be done." Henry curiously remarked. He remembered giving many suggestions, such as cabinets to be mounted on the walls.
"Henry, this is enough. It's much better than the house I used to live in." Vincent sighed. Just over twenty days ago, he couldn't have imagined such a life or such a good house.
"It will only get better in the future!" Henry nodded, understanding the sentiment. They had all experienced difficult times in the past, so any improvement now was greatly satisfying.
"Please, have a seat, Lord Henry." Vincent quickly brought a chair and kicked his son, Kyle, saying, "Hurry up and get some water for Lord Henry."
Willow softly intervened, "No need, I have some drinks here."
She had a backpack, a delicate and lovely one that Henry had given her, and all the girls had received one.
Today was Willow's first time going out with the backpack. She took out a small box from it, opened it, and carefully placed a glass on the table. Then, she took out a red metal canister with exquisite patterns on it.
Willow pressed the switch on the canister, and a hissing sound was heard as she carefully poured the black liquid, which was still bubbling, into the glass.
"Give Vincent a glass!" Henry happened to see Mila and Ellie licking their lips, and he couldn't help but smile wryly. The two of them had already had some.
It was only after they had a drink that Mila and Ellie realized that there was such a magical beverage in the world, and they were amazed.
"Go back and get a can from the private storage room," Henry said, feeling a bit helpless. The girls never actively asked him for anything; they would just look at him with longing eyes.
"Henry is the best man," Ellie exclaimed, jumping up in joy.
"I want the one with white bubbles." Mila said, her eyes full of delight.
Willow simply nodded with a gentle smile. She would go back and get it for the two of them. In fact, she also liked this sweet and fizzy drink.
