Chapter 126 Receiving the Iron Man Armor as a Gift?
"Should we bring it along? He seems a bit restless when he sleeps!" Willow was holding a sleeping bag, contemplating.
When Henry, accompanied by Mila and Ellie, arrived at the private warehouse, they saw Willow packing. Several boxes were already on the floor.
"Willow, I'm only going away for two days. You don't need to bring so much," Henry said.
Henry crouched down, looking through the boxes. The more he looked, the more embarrassed he felt. Was he supposed to be away for months?
Willow was startled by a sudden sound behind her. She turned to Henry, patted her chest, and scolded, "Henry, you scared me again."
"It's better to bring these things. You never know when they might come in handy," Willow said, stuffing the sleeping bag into an empty box and labeling it.
Henry looked at Willow's seriousness. It was her way of showing care. So, he agreed. After all, it would be reassuring to have them on the ship.
"Alright, let's bring them." Henry said.
He then walked into the private warehouse and approached a large cabinet with a lock. He turned to Willow and said, "Willow, can you open this?"
"Okay!" Willow quickly took out the key, unlocked the cabinet, and stepped aside.
"Finally, have a chance to use it!" Henry chuckled, opening the cabinet to reveal four sets of armor: red, blue, pure black, and silver.
These four sets of armor were custom-made by Henry on Earth, tailored to his size, using special lightweight steel. There were fish scale armor, plate armor, heavy armor, and leather armor.
As a lord of a territory, such equipment was necessary. In reality, it was just Henry who liked to collect cold weapons.
"Wow! They're so cool!" Ellie's eyes sparkled as she touched the armor. These four sets were even more noble than the one displayed outside.
"Which one should I choose?" Henry rubbed his chin. All four sets were carefully crafted for ergonomics, safety, and protection, but they were quite expensive.
There was a studio on Earth specializing in armor. Henry was found it by accident. Unexpectedly, these studios had some connections. Well, it should be said that they were run by a group of rich second-generation who were enthusiasts of medieval weapons. They used the best materials, after all, money was not a problem.
Henry thought about the Iron Man suit in that studio, which was made of the latest materials. It had everything except the ability to fly, shoot lasers from the palms, fire missiles, and an AI system. Indeed, it was just a suit of armor.
Henry had been eyeing that suit for a long time, but its price reached up to millions of dollars, made him reconsider. He decided to wait until he found ginseng – a kind of rare medicinal herbs, then he would go and get the Iron Man suit, and put it in his study, which would probably scare a lot of people, right?
"Henry?" Mila poked Henry's belly with her finger. Henry had been lost in thought, with drool at the corner of his mouth.
Henry coughed lightly. Men just liked all kinds of medieval weapons and armor. It was normal to have such thoughts.
"Henry, how about choosing the fish scale armor?" Mila suggested, giving Henry's belly another poke.
Henry gently patted her playful hand. "Sure, let's go with the fish scale armor."
Willow and Mila immediately went to the cabinet and took out the fish scale armor. It was a modified set, exquisitely crafted, and once worn, one would resemble a legendary warrior.
"Bring the compound bow as well," Henry said to Ellie. He wouldn't forget about this powerful weapon.
"Okay!" Ellie nodded. She knew the significance of the compound hunting bow.
Henry carefully selected a few more items from the private warehouse, finalizing what they would bring on their journey, and then had them carried onto the ship.
During lunch, Emily, who had just returned from school, heard that Henry was going to the battlefield. She was filled with worry and tried to dissuade him, but her efforts were in vain.
"Please take care of yourself, my lord!" Emily said, her face serious, as if Henry was heading into a dangerous place.
"It's just a group of bandits. I'll solve them and be back soon," Henry said confidently.
Emily nodded, her mouth opened, but in the end, she remained silent. Some things were better left unsaid for now.
"Is there something you want to say?" Henry looked at the Bunny Girl, who seemed to have something on her mind, and asked, "Go ahead, I'll do my best to help."
Emily shook her head, her voice soft, "I'll tell you when you return in triumph."
Henry was about to say something when David burst in.
"Henry, everyone is ready to go. We can depart at the moment," David said, dressed in knight armor, a combination of fish scale armor and plate armor produced by the research department.
"Great, please be patient for a few days, and I'll be back victorious! You can tell me then." Henry said.
Henry got up and quickly left with Mila. It wasn't the time for long goodbyes.
"Let's go!"
Emily watched Henry's departure, her lips curling slightly. Perhaps she could find redemption here. Thinking of the mischievous bear cubs in the class and the serious way they listened to her stories, those were her most relaxing days.
"You should have brought it up earlier." Ellie said softly, "Now that Henry is going to battle, we're a bit short-handed."
"I've waited for so many days, a few more won't make a difference."
Emily shook her head. She had already decided to stay in Eldoria. The verification had been confirmed. When Henry returned, she would go back to the tribe and bring other orcs to Eldoria for the winter to find work.
Neither of them went to see him off, not even Willow. They didn't want Henry to see their sad faces. Confidence should be the theme of a departure, not sadness and loss.
"I'm going to the study," Ellie suddenly turned and ran to the study.
"I'll go too!" Willow followed.
Emily was left bewildered. What was this about? Running away? Crying in the study?
"No." Emily frowned slightly and understood!
The study was the tallest building in the entire Eldoria. So from the window of the study, they could see Henry.
"Can orcs really marry human nobles? Even if the lord doesn't discriminate against orcs, and he is a great noble, but..."
"The strange looks of the world and the dirty rumors are the invisible shackles, which was the most frightening!"
"Mila, Ellie, and me?"
