Chapter 12 More Noble Than the Nobility
Early in the morning, Henry woke up feeling watched. He turned his head and saw a pair of light blue eyes, instantly snapping out of his drowsiness.
Mila greeted him with a playful smile, "Good morning, Henry. Are you awake?"
"How did you get in here?" Henry raised his eyebrows, appreciating Mila's attire. "That outfit suits you well."
The dress Mila was wearing was something Henry had bought for her. It resembling a maid costume, it surprisingly fit in Catgirl.
"It looks good, but it's a bit inconvenient. I prefer my armor," Mila said, not entirely satisfied, as she swayed the dress's hem.
Though the dress was more beautiful than what noble ladies wore, Mila's duty was to protect Henry, not covet beauty.
Henry sat up and gestured, "You can wear the dress in the castle. I'll get you some armor next time."
"I'll need weapons too," Mila nodded, having lost her weapons already.
"What kind of weapon do you like?" Henry asked curiously, glancing at Mila's slender arms.
"A dagger, it is better to give me five," Mila replied, her eyes gleaming, unintentionally licking her lips.
"Hey, don't engage in imaginative behaviors. I'll get you the daggers after a while, but please, go out first," Henry said, pointing at the door with a wry smile.
"You should consider getting some maids." Mila joked.
Mila's face turned slightly red as she glanced at a certain part of Henry's body, her cat ears twitching, and she left the room with indifference.
"What a different morning!" Henry exclaimed.
Henry yawned, stretching lazily, before retrieving a black robe from his space.
"Let's talk to the maids later," Henry said.
Yes, a robe. He didn't have the clothes of the nobles here, and now he was a nobleman. How could he not have a set of clothes that fit his status?
Actually, he just found the clothes here too ugly, especially those of the nobles, which he found ridiculous.
After putting on the robe, Henry took out a mirror from his space and looked at himself. "Very good. Next time, I'll grow my hair and wear a crown. That would be perfect."
As he walked out of the room, he saw Mila staring at him with open eyes. "Henry, are you a prince from another country?"
Henry smiled gently, "This is the attire in my homeland."
"You are the noblest person I have ever seen, more like a nobleman than those dukes. You are completely a prince," Mila exclaimed.
Henry smiled. That was exactly what he wanted. In this world, the power of the nobility was immense. If the behavior of the nobility was not proper, their authority would be questioned.
He traveled between two worlds, completely unaware of the behavior of the nobility in this world. So Henry directly created his own, or rather, brought some ancient European rituals over.
Even Mila, who had seen many nobles, praised him as being like a nobleman so the other nobles would not dare to look down on him.
"Here you are; this is the dagger you wanted," Henry said, taking a box out of his robe.
One advantage of the robe was its long sleeves, which could block people's view, allowing Henry to take things out of his space.
Mila eagerly took the box and opened it, exclaiming in delight, "Wow! What a cool dagger."
"This is a military knife!" Henry said helplessly. The short knives in this world were incomparable with it.
"So sharp!" Mila held the military knife and delicately ran her slender fingers over it, her expression growing more and more pleased.
She found that the gorgeous short knives she had obtained from the great nobles before were not as good as the military knife she had now. This was a real weapon for killing.
Mila swung her hands, and the five military knives were instantly thrown out, nailing themselves into a pillar more than 30 feet away, forming a cross.
"I find a trump card," Henry said, looking at the catgirl who was about to draw her sword. He was impressed by her throwing knife skills.
He took the catgirl to the study, put a document in her hand, and said with a smile, "This is a contract to employ you. If there are no problems, go ahead and sign it."
Mila knew about contracts. The nobles all had these, but now she looked blankly at the contract with black-and-white words in her hand. For the first time, she discovered that there was such a thing as a blank piece of paper that could be written on.
"Henry, what is this?" Mila asked, trembling, holding up the blank paper.
"This is paper used for writing in my homeland. It's much better than parchment scrolls," Henry chuckled.
What do you mean much better? Even if Mila had never used it, she knew that this white paper was better than the yellow parchment scrolls.
Mila had encountered a lot of shocks this morning, the extremely sharp military knife, and now the white paper for writing, all of which she had never seen before.
She could guarantee that she had been to many big cities and sneaked into the study of many nobles, but she had never seen these things.
She knew the value of these things. Many people will make all efforts to obtain these two things.
Mila said to Henry seriously, "Henry, don't reveal these things for now, or it will attract the attention of many people."
