Chapter 158 Ellie's Joke
The carriage had just entered the castle when Henry stepped out. Before he could even settle, a figure rushed toward him. His instincts didn't warn him, indicating no danger. He caught the person and quickly recognized who it was.
"Welcome home, Henry." Ellie buried her head in his chest, her voice soft and sweet. Her fox ears twitched, and her tail swayed.
"I'm back." Henry nodded, gently caressing Ellie's head. He now realized how petite Ellie was, her height only reaching his chest, making her look so cute.
"Henry, I've become ugly." Ellie held onto his waist, her cheek pressed against his chest, although it hard to breathe for her. "Will you still like me?"
"Ugly?" Henry was taken aback. Had he been away that long? Did Ellie's genes suddenly go awry?
Henry shook off his thoughts, his fingers gently pinching Ellie's fox ear. He chuckled, "How ugly did you become? Let me see."
"Don't make fun of me," Ellie said softly, "You have to promise."
"Alright! I promise not to make fun of you." Henry's lips curled. Interesting things were already happening as soon as he returned home, completely dispelling the five days of separation, as if he had left the castle only five hours ago.
"Well, then... Look!" Ellie left Henry's embrace, took a step back, and then suddenly looked up.
A face covered in white flour, innocent eyes blinking, and a thick layer of flour slowly falling off her cheeks.
Mila's laughter came from behind. She was standing on the carriage, pointing at Ellie's face, tears of laughter streaming down her face.
"Is this a clown?" Tess also laughed loudly, holding onto Mila, then they laughed together.
Henry's lips trembled, trying hard not to burst into laughter. His face turned slightly red, and he slowly turned his head, his shoulders shaking a few times...
"You... You..." Ellie's face stiffened, pouting, "Henry, did you laugh?"
"No, no... I didn't laugh!" Henry quickly turned his head, his thumb wiping the tears of laughter, trying to hold back his laughter when he saw Ellie's appearance.
Ellie squinted her brown eyes, scanning Henry's face, and her squinting made another piece of flour fall from her face.
Mila's laughter resounded again. "It's so funny, my stomach hurts from laughing."
"Damn, why don't you just die laughing!" Ellie exclaimed in frustration.
"Ellie, your welcome ceremony is really something." Mila collapsed on the carriage, one hand covering her stomach, the other wiping away tears of laughter.
Tess's laughter was trembling. Especially when she saw pieces of flour falling from Ellie's face from time to time, she was laughing so hard that she was almost out of breath.
"You..." Ellie looked at Tess, her brown eyes widened, and the only thing left in her mind was the image of Tess's huge chest.
"So big, even bigger than Mila's." Ellie looked at Tess's horns, her mouth pouting, and then at her own chest, she said with a hint of jealousy, "Damn! This big cow has such a big chest!"
A sly smile appeared on Mila's face. She knew Ellie well, and now Ellie's pouted mouth unhappily.
Ellie looked at Henry with a look of grievance, pouting, "Henry, they're making fun of me..."
"I will spank their butts." Henry responded with a light laugh, holding Ellie's face in his hands, gently removing the pieces of flour from her face.
"No, spanking is not good." Ellie refused, thinking that they would still benefit from a spanking.
"How did you come up with the idea of putting flour on your face? Who taught you?" Henry chuckled, reminded of the art of makeup from the other side of the world.
"Last time, when Henry was giving a lecture to the War Wolf Battle Squad, I heard that you can apply powder on your face and become much more beautiful," Ellie said, tilting her head, "Did I get it wrong?"
Henry was speechless. He remembered giving a lecture on camouflage techniques to the War Wolf Battle Squad, but in the end, it was still his fault.
"Well! It's not entirely wrong, just using the wrong thing."
Henry removed the last piece of flour and looked at Ellie's powdery face. At first glance, he saw a pimple on her cheek and immediately understood what was going on.
"What should I use then?" Ellie touched her cheek, feeling that the pimple made her look ugly.
"You don't need that stuff, you're already beautiful, using it will only make you ugly." Henry pinched Ellie's face and said, "Now you're beautiful, having a pimple means you're still young and growing."
"Really?" Ellie's eyes widened. "I'm really not ugly? But the pimple is so unsightly."
"It will disappear on its own in a day or two," Henry reassured, "You haven't been sleeping well lately, maybe it will be gone when you wake up tomorrow."
Ellie breathed a sigh of relief and patted her chest, "That's good."
In this era, if a girl had pimples on her face, especially a noble girl, she would hide in her room until the pimples were gone before leaving again.
"Go wash your face." Henry patted Ellie's head.
"Okay!" Ellie's mouth curved into a smile, but when she glanced in Tess, her face turned sullen again, feeling that life was not easy now.
"Let's go! It's time for lunch." Henry led the way to the dining hall, thinking that Willow had already prepared lunch.
Sure enough, as soon as they entered the dining hall, they saw Willow's busy figure. Henry felt a deep sense of pity for her. Willow was always silent and self-sacrificing.
Willow heard the footsteps, turned her head, and saw Henry. Her gray eyes were full of joy, and she smiled, saying softly, "Welcome home, it's just in time for lunch."
"You've worked hard!" Henry patted Willow's head.
"Not at all, Ellie is the one who's been working hard. She hasn't slept well these past few days"
"Is it because of those merchants?" Henry raised an eyebrow, thinking of the merchants at the castle gate, uttering, "Are they here to request to open a shop? Or are they complaining about the lack of goods?"
