Chapter 65 A Slightly Cunning Willow
Henry and the others returned to the castle just in time for lunch.
Today's meal was hamburgers, each served in a large bowl with a few smaller bowls of side dishes. Of course, the size of each person's bowl varied. The two beast girls had large soup bowls, while Henry and Willow had slightly larger than normal bowls.
Now, all six eyes were fixed on Henry, observing how to eat spaghetti. It was the first attempt for the beast girls and Willow.
"Let's begin. Just follow my lead," Henry said.
"Okay!" the three girls replied.
"I'll be watching you, Henry."
"I bet I can do it better than Mila!"
Henry tried to look serious, and the three women also followed suit, suppressing the urge to laugh.
"Firstly..." Henry began to teach, but then he grabbed a forkful of spaghetti and took a big bite.
"Henry? Is that it?" they all exclaimed in unison.
The three women blinked their eyes, looking puzzled.
"Well, what else?" Henry's smile couldn't be hidden, the mischievous glint in his eyes giving him away.
"It's so simple; I could have figured it out without your lesson." Ellie pouted, secretly amused by Henry's antics.
"Delicious, simple things are always the best," Mila remarked as she continued eating.
"Henry is getting more mischievous," Willow said, twirling her spaghetti slowly.
Midway through their meal, Wyatt entered the room, looking serious and anxious as he leaned in to whisper to Henry.
Henry said, "Is Carter showing up now? It looks like the market's impact is starting already."
Henry set down his fork and chuckled, "Let them wait a bit. Wyatt, why don't you try the spaghetti as well?"
Willow, on the side, offered Wyatt a plate of spaghetti. Willow said, "We have four or five sauces here. Choose one that suits your taste."
Wyatt glanced at the cat-eared girl, contemplating whether eating there would cause any issues.
"Eat up; we're all family here," Henry reassured him.
"Alright!" Wyatt wasn't one to fuss, so he mixed the spaghetti and dug in.
When Carter and Nathan finally met Henry in the living room, half an hour had passed.
"Mr. Carter, it's good to see you again. What brings you here?" Henry greeted with a smile.
"I'm getting old, always longing for familiar places. After a few days in Solanis, I started missing Eldoria's castle." Carter replied.
Solanis was Baron Omar's city, one of the top ten most prosperous cities nearby.
"I understand. People always miss their hometowns and the places they used to live." Henry nodded.
"Mr. Carter, have you found a new home? How did you design this castle? It's very comfortable." Henry inquired.
Carter and Nathan's expressions twitched. How could they be comfortable? The previous owner of this castle was a duke. It was only by chance that Carter got to benefit from it.
Carter coughed, feigning a sad tone, "To be honest, ever since I left the castle, I've had trouble eating and sleeping. I don't know how much longer I can endure."
Was he seeking sympathy or testing Henry's reaction?
A hint of mockery flashed in Henry's eyes. "How could that be? I know there's a witch doctor in the south of Eldoria who specializes in sleep disorders."
Nathan's face darkened. He wanted to curse. The so-called witch doctor in the south was just someone who collected bodies for the dead.
Carter coughed and glanced at Nathan, not wanting a confrontation.
'If I could, I would have left you long ago.' Nathan thought, cursing Henry.
If it weren't for the fact that they didn't bring their guards, and they couldn't bring them in, did they not see the familiar Catgirl playing with a dagger in the corner?
Mila's sharp gaze was fixed on the hearts and necks of the two, the ones who had imprisoned her in the dungeon. If it weren't for Henry's instructions not to act rashly, she would have already attacked them.
'It's not the time yet. Henry said that old man's life is mine to take.' Mila thought, her icy gaze sending chills down her spine.
"Mr. Henry," Carter began, his smile growing warmer despite the darkness in his eyes, "When I traded five crystal goblets for your land last time, each goblet was valued at eighteen gold coins, triple the current price."
"Is that so? Congratulations, Mr. Carter." Henry pretended to be surprised.
"I can use four..." Carter was about to say that he could use four crystal goblets to exchange for the territory, but he couldn't know it now.
Willow approached with a tray containing crystal goblets, also known as highball glasses, filled with a swaying red liquid.
Willow arranged this. Despite her quiet demeanor, she could be very scheming when it came to Henry. These shameless people actually dared to come and vie for Henry's territory.
"Henry, here's the wine you wanted," Willow said softly.
Henry picked up the highball glass and looked at Carter, his curiosity piqued. "Mr. Carter, you were saying something about using four of what?"
If Wyatt had seen this scene, he would have definitely said that Willow's scheming had probably been learned from Henry.
"It's nothing. Sorry for the disturbance." Carter forced a stiff smile.
Without waiting for Henry's response, he dragged the dazed Nathan out of the castle.
Henry thought, 'Since he's being so shameless, he shouldn't blame me for resorting to other means.'
