Chapter 89 The Error in Intelligence

The servant's question caught Riley's attention, causing him to furrow his brows. Combining the carriage business with the steel coins he possessed was indeed a lucrative opportunity. Whoever came up with this idea was truly a genius.
Along the way, Riley observed numerous commoners carrying wood and stones, their faces beaming with smiles. Such smiles were usually seen only during bountiful harvests, yet here they were, evident even during labor. It surprised him.
This curiosity dispelled his initial resentment. After all, staying in Solanis meant enduring ostracism, so taking a break seemed like a good idea.
He touched the letter in his pocket, a message from Baron Omar to a noble in Eldoria named Carter.
The noble who had stayed in Solanis for almost half a month and then returned to Eldoria. He couldn't help but wonder about this nobleman named Carter. He thought, 'Don't he sell off his title and estate? How does he manage to return to Eldoria? Does he regain his lands and title?'
Due to the backwardness of information dissemination and the secretive nature of the actions of the Cater and his son, coupled with the handling capabilities of the War Wolf Battle Squad, news of the deaths of Carter and his son has not been circulated.
Baron Omar, of course, would assume that Carter and his son have returned to Eldoria and regained their noble status, especially considering Carter's knightly prowess. If it hadn't been for encountering Henry, they could have easily reclaimed their lands and titles.
As Riley's carriage entered Eldoria, he was so taken aback by the scene that he leaped off the carriage, his mouth agape.
"Have I arrived in the Royal City?" Riley muttered to himself.
An avenue, 65.6 feet in width, teeming with lively crowds, bordered by meticulously built houses. Despite their wooden frame supports, the structures exuded a sense of order and neatness.
Riley had only seen such houses in the Royal City, but they took over a decade to build. The current scene wasn't the result of a decade's effort.
"Sir, are you getting off here?" the coachman shouted. Jumping off a moving carriage was against Henry's rules.
"Yes, here is fine." Riley apologized with a smile, nodding repeatedly.
As they watched the carriage depart, they felt a bit lost, unsure of their next destination.
"Sir, should we go see the Lord now?" the servant asked curiously.
"Yes! Let's complete the task first, then we can explore." Riley nodded, understanding the importance of priorities.
He suddenly felt that Eldoria was not as bad as he had imagined. He would see what he could find while exploring and buy something as an apology gift for Victoria.
He had learned from a novel called 'The Love Notes of a Noble Girl' written by Scarlett. If a girl gets angry, the best way to make amends is to buy her a valuable gift.
Riley felt that if he had the chance to meet Scarlett, he would definitely thank her. By following the methods in the novel, he managed to win Victoria's heart.
Riley chuckled to himself. That day, he sang songs at Victoria's door for a long time, and eventually, he managed to impress her.
Victoria and her family were all moved to tears. They didn't want him to sing anymore, fearing that he would strain his voice. They were indeed a thoughtful family.
The two walked along the avenue and soon arrived at the castle. After reporting to the guards, Henry quickly summoned them.
When Riley saw the nobles of Eldoria, he noticed that they were already seated, and their attire demanded respect.
"My Lord, I am Riley from Solanis, here on behalf of Baron Omar." Riley said with respect, his noble etiquette impeccable.
The atmosphere was filled with Henry's noble aura. His wide sleeves and the patterns on his clothes were grand as if he came from a prestigious family.
"Riley, please have a seat," Henry said with a light smile. Henry thought, 'this is the second emissary sent by Solanis. Hyratos have brought him cattle, sheep, horses, and a lot of wheat.'
'And those wheat merchants who were hanged, their background seemed to be related to Baron Omar, right? Now they actually sent an emissary. What kind of conspiracy is this?'
Riley bowed respectfully once again and immediately took out a scroll from his pocket, handing it to Wyatt. "This is a letter from Baron Omar to you!"
He dared not be careless. Even the butler's attire was better than what Baron Omar wore, which made him break out in a cold sweat.
Riley pondered, 'Who is this individual exactly? Perhaps a descendant of a duke sent here for learning?'
Wyatt carefully opened the scroll, checked it, and then handed it to Henry. He didn't read the contents; he just observed for any hidden poison or the like.
This scene made Riley's heart sink. He shouted in his mind, 'This is the caution and means that only the great nobles possess.'
He thought, 'But why? Carter has such power that he doesn't need to sell his land and title at all. Could it be a misunderstanding by others?'
The intelligence was wrong. Riley had just arrived in Eldoria and had always thought that Henry was Carter.
From the beginning, Baron Omar said that the noble in Eldoria was named Carter, and Riley never doubted it.
Such things happened from time to time in this era. After all, it was an era of message delivery by horses, coupled with the fact that Eldoria was a remote place.
"Interesting, very interesting."
Henry's smile became colder as he read the scroll. After finishing it, he remained silent, staring at Riley with a strange expression.
"My Lord, do you have any orders for me?" Riley asked, feeling that something was amiss, a strong sense of crisis washing over him.
"It's really sad. Are you just a man being pushed out to die?" Henry's voice was cold, and the contents of the scroll had truly surprised him.
"I, I don't know what you mean."
Riley's heart sank completely, cold sweat forming on his forehead. Especially when he saw the beautiful female orc, a blade suddenly appeared in her hand, which made him take a step back in fear.
"See for yourself!" Henry threw the scroll forward.
