Chapter 115 Spinning Machine and Loom

This morning, they had a Grilled Chicken Salad, every bite bursting with savory juices, leaving a lingering taste in my mouth.
"So delicious! No wonder Emily took ten portions to school, saying she'd eat while walking," Ellie remarked with a mouthful of Grilled Chicken Salad, her lips glistening with juice, which she wiped with her thumb.
Willow, her cheeks slightly flushed, looked at Henry and softly said, "Emily woke up early and made the Grilled Chicken Salad for me. She took her own portion to school."
"Oh? What a cunning girl! I wanted to taste Emily's Grilled Chicken Salad," Ellie pouted, a hint of regret in her voice. "I've been eating Willow's cooking, but I occasionally try something different."
"Is Miss Ellie implying that my culinary skills are subpar?" Willow's eyes narrowed into tiny slits, her gray orbs darting towards Ellie's fox ears, "Or perhaps you've simply grown weary of my cooking?"
"No," Willow replied, her eyes narrowing slightly. "I just wanted to know what others' cooking tastes like."
"I see," Willow said, thinking about the Grilled Chicken Salad Emily made this morning, which turned out dry and tasteless.
She chuckled, "Ellie, you can have Emily's breakfast tomorrow."
"Really?" Ellie's eyes lit up with anticipation. "Emily has been cooking with Willow for a few days, so she should be able to make something delicious."
"Yes!" Willow nodded, then turned to Mila and asked in a gentle voice, "Mila, would you like to have Emily's breakfast too?"
Mila, with a Hamburger halfway to her mouth, mechanically shook her head. "No, thanks. I'll stick with Willow's cooking. Emily is going to be a teacher, and she's busy."
Mila knew how Emily's cooking turned out. Everything she made would end up being hard and tasteless.
"So, I'll be the only one having Emily's breakfast? I'm looking forward to it!" Ellie quickly opened her notebook and started writing about delicious food in the section.
Henry sighed and looked at Ellie with pity. She had fallen into Willow's trap, and he could already imagine the scene at breakfast tomorrow.
"Henry, what's wrong?" Ellie asked, tilting her head in confusion.
"Nothing," Henry shook his head and wiped his mouth with a clean cloth.
"Oh, Henry, the sales of items in the market have been decreasing day by day except wheat and salt," Ellie reported, flipping through her notebook. "And the sales of lollipops have actually increased."
Henry nodded. It was expected. The market was saturated, and items like ceramics and wooden spoons would last a long time. People would only buy new ones if they broke or if they had coins to exchange. Otherwise, few commoners would make purchases in a short period.
"Make sure everyone's production doesn't decrease. Zachary should be back in a day or two. Hopefully, he'll bring back some good news."
If Zachary couldn't bring good news from Hyratos, Henry would have to think of another solution or immediately organize a caravan to go to another city.
"Yes! The research department sent a message yesterday saying that the spinning machine and loom you wanted have been manufactured. Do you want to have a look?" Ellie continued.
Ellie didn't know what a spinning machine was, but she could tell from the name what a loom was. She was also looking forward to it, as most of the clothes she and Mila wore before were made of animal skins.
"Great."
Henry immediately got up and said, "Let's go and have a look."
The spinning machine and loom, these two tools, could greatly solve the problem of this era, which clothes were expensive and scarce.
It was also the first and most crucial step that Henry took to make Eldoria prosperous. What attracts merchants the most? Of course, it's goods that are cheaper and more exquisite than others.
"I'll go prepare the carriage!" Mila ran out with two Grilled Chicken Salads in her mouth.
"Wait for me!" Ellie chased after her with a Grilled Chicken Salad in her hand.
"Henry, the renovation of a restaurant on the commercial street has been completed. When will you go and have a look?" Willow followed behind Henry.
"Oh? So fast?" Henry was surprised.
"Just a few key areas waiting for your decision," Willow said, flipping through her notebook.
"Alright! I'll go later." Henry nodded. That restaurant was also a key place that needed his attention.
Henry had already completed most of the initial layout, and now it was just a matter of attracting business. The plan for attracting business would start to take effect in a few days, and everything was just waiting for the right opportunity.
Soon, Henry and Willow got on the carriage. As soon as Henry entered the carriage, he saw Ellie rolling on the cushion, and Mila's cheeks were slightly red as she glanced at him, making his heart skip a beat. Both of them were thinking about that day.
Henry coughed lightly, pulled the rope of the carriage, and soon the carriage set off, escorted by the War Wolf Battle Squad, heading towards the research department.
"By the way, Ellie, have you issued the construction plan for the dock?" Henry thought of a concerning issue, which was the dock that could accommodate large ships.
Ellie took out a lollipop from her backpack, unwrapped the paper, and said, "Hmm! I saw the dock construction plan on the desk this morning, and I saw that you had already signed it, so I passed it on."
The lollipop she ate was bought from the big market. Those lollipops that Henry gave her, she couldn't bear to eat it, and she hadn't eaten a single one until now.
"Tell them to postpone the construction of the houses. The dock is more important. Build a small section of the dock that can accommodate large ships first." Henry held Ellie's hand and put the lollipop that hadn't been put in her mouth into his own mouth.
"Okay." Ellie nodded quickly, glanced triumphantly at Mila, and even stuck out her tongue.
Mila's forehead twitched. This cunning girl.
Henry still felt that there were few people. It would be great if there were tens of thousands of people to serve him, but some basic construction measures were very labor-intensive. After all, it was not the era of large trucks and excavators.
