Chapter 142 Canned Fish as a Gift

Mila and Tess spent a good half hour washing up, their figures similar at around five feet tall.

"Mila, this outfit is so tight!" Tess tugged at her top, accustomed to loose clothing, finding the fit a bit snug.

Mila glanced at Tess's ample assets, her lips twitching. "Just bear with it for now. I'll have a few sets tailored for you once we're back to the castle."

Mila contemplated whether to give Tess some of Ellie's clothes, but they might only cover half. The thought of Ellie's frustration brought a smile to Mila's face.

"Mila, I feel like you're thinking something about me." Tess, with her purple eyes, focused on Mila's mischievous expression.

"No, not at all!" Mila tossed her wet black hair and sashayed out.

"Really?" Tess caught up, her tight outfit accentuating her curves as if they might burst at any moment.

"No! You're overthinking." Mila suppressed a laugh.

"But your expression was like a cat that stole fish." Tess pointed at her chin.

"Do you know fish?" Mila's eyes widened in surprise.

"Yeah! My sis caught some for me. It's just that they're hard to catch, so she always had to jump into the water. Fish is so delicious," Tess licked her lips.

"Yeah, really tasty. Henry knows how to cook fish. He caught a lot yesterday." Mila's mouth watered.

"Wow! That's great! Are there any fish left?" Tess's throat gulped.

"Well... Maybe." Mila said cautiously, "Those are for Henry's experiments, not for eating."

"Mila, why are you so nervous?" Tess leaned in, squinting. "Are you afraid I'll eat them all?"

"No, I'm not afraid!" Mila's blue eyes averted.

"Then I'll eat a lot of fish."

"No, those are all for me!"

"You admitted it!"

"I didn't..."

The two bickered as they reached the dining hall in the cabin, where Henry had also finished showering and was drying his hair.

"It smells good!" Tess wrinkled her nose, her eyes sparkling at the steaming bread on the table.

"All done?" Henry looked up and, seeing Tess, he paused. She looked really good after cleaning up.

Tess had waist-length purple hair, a slightly chubby face, and a figure that Henry found to be the most voluptuous among the girls he had seen. Those small horns on her head especially added a touch of exotic charm.

"Can I eat this, Lord Henry?" Tess's eyes were fixed on the bread.

"Yes! It's all for you!" Henry nodded. It was a ten-person portion of bread.

From his experience, good-looking female beastmen were all big eaters, capable of finishing a ten-person meal on their own.

"Wow! You're amazing, Henry."

Tess jumped up, her chest heaving, and in three or two steps, she was at the table, looking at the golden bread in the plate, with red strips on top, as well as several large pieces of meat and eggs.

"Go ahead! Bread tastes best when it's hot." Henry chuckled.

Tess picked up the fork next to her and asked, pointing at the red strips. "Henry, what is this red thing?"

"Sausage, made of chicken." Henry replied.

"Chicken!" Tess was satisfied as long as it was meat, so she stuffed the sausage into her mouth. Her purple eyes widened, and her mouth chewed unconsciously.

After swallowing, Tess came back to her senses, her eyes staring at the sausage, muttering, "This is the most delicious thing I've ever eaten, a hundred times better than the fish my sister makes."

"Will the bread be as delicious?" Tess picked up the golden bread and put it in her mouth, only to take two bites before putting another piece in her mouth.

"It's so delicious, really... very, very delicious." Tess was too busy eating to say more, focusing on the bread. Every bite of the meat and egg made her excited.

"Henry! Let me help you." Mila came up behind Henry and took the towel to help dry his hair.

"What should we bring to the banquet tonight?" Henry asked with a smile. "How about some canned fish?"

When attending a noble banquet, it was customary to bring a small gift, even if it was just a bouquet of flowers, as it signified that one was there for more than just food and drink.

"I'll listen to you, Henry." Mila said softly.

"Then let's bring some snacks!"

Henry nodded. He never had high expectations for noble banquets. It was better to bring his own food, although it was a bit impolite, but it won't make him suffer.

"Should we bring some drinks?" Mila asked in a low voice. She knew that Henry was not used to oat wine or wormwood tea.

"Bring some coffee, and I remember there's a coffee with a milky flavor in the box." Henry thought of the wormwood tea and shuddered.

"Okay!" Mila went to prepare things with a light step.

Henry leaned on his chin, watching Tess eat with great enthusiasm, her mouth never stopping, chewing and shaking her head, feeling like she was having a great time eating.

"Lord Henry, the Lord of Hyratos sent a carriage." Leo's voice came from outside.

"Let them wait." Henry replied softly.

After five minutes!

"Henry! We're ready!" Mila came out with a backpack carrying two cans of fish.

"Let's go!" Henry took the cans of fish and was greeted by Leo when he arrived at the door.

"Leo! You'll accompany me tonight." Henry said as he got on the carriage.

Leo was taken aback, then immediately nodded. "Yes!"

In addition to bringing a female companion to a noble banquet, one or two knights were also required in case of any accidents. Of course, the knights couldn't enter the main hall, they could only eat in the outer hall, or flirt with the maids and gather some information.

Leo could clearly feel the envy of his companions. Being able to accompany Henry to the banquet was a recognition of his abilities.

He wondered what the noble banquet was like. Would the food be even better than the cafeteria's meals?
