Chapter 139 Just Need a Showing Up!

Tess wondered, 'Everyone has the right to choose?' Then she was puzzled and asked, "Am I at liberty to select anything I desire?"

"Of course not!" Henry rolled his eyes and said, "It's about choosing life goals or preferences."

It's impossible to select all choices. In fact, there are many things in life that cannot be chosen, such as family, parents, siblings, and so on.

Tess was a little confused. She still felt that she didn't quite understand and asked, "What kind of choices are right for me?"

"What do you like to do? Or what are your hobbies?" Henry turned his head and looked at Tess, who looked like a curious girl. He was also curious about what this silly girl liked.

"I like to go around and see new things, have endless food to eat, find a handsome husband to marry, and then have a lot of babies."

As Tess spoke, her eyes lit up, and she took out a scroll from her arms. After unfolding it, she exclaimed, "I've written it all down. The husband should be a very capable person, able to have plenty of wheat, not let me go hungry, especially the babies."

Henry and Mila glanced at each other and shrugged helplessly. The girl had already fantasized about her life after getting married.

Along the way, Henry listened to Tess rambling about a bunch of fantasies, occasionally nodding and pointing out a few things that were not right.

For example, Tess demanded that her husband be stronger than her, a requirement that Henry seriously doubted, as few could surpass this violent female orc.

"Oh! Then I'll change it. At least he should be able to beat me!" Tess muttered.

This requirement wasn't that difficult, as Tess only had strength and not much skill!

In the midst of their conversation, they arrived at Hyratos.

As soon as they entered the city gates, Henry was taken aback. There were people everywhere, commoners and merchants, all of them looking at Henry gratefully.

"Lord Henry, Thank you for saving us."

"Long live Lord Henry."

What's going on? He hasn't even started his speech, and everyone already knows him?

Suddenly, a person squeezed out of the crowd and rushed towards Henry. However, before he could get close, Mila held a military knife to his neck. If the man hadn't spoken quickly, his throat might have been slit.

"Lord, I'm Hayden, Zachary's subordinate!"

"Hayden?" Henry had a vague impression as if Zachary had mentioned him before. He waved his hand, signaling for Mila to put away the knife and let Hayden come closer.

"Why didn't you bring people to evacuate Hyratos in advance?" Henry asked in confusion.

Hayden awkwardly touched his nose, changed the subject, and said in a low voice. "Lord, there are many people willing to go to Eldoria. Just a moment, I received more than a hundred requests."

"After the bandits came in, are you still recruiting people?" Henry was a little surprised.

Hayden chuckled and scratched his head, saying in a low voice, "The task wasn't completed yet!"

Henry looked at the surrounding commoners and asked in a low voice, "Did you spread the recruitment for Eldoria?"

"Yes, this morning, when the curfew in Hyratos began, many people didn't believe us, but now everyone believes they are waiting for you to show up." Hayden said seriously.

Henry slightly opened his mouth and finally smiled easily. Someone had already done all the things he wanted to do, and now it was just a matter of showing up.

"Well done!" Henry patted Hayden on the shoulder and said, "I'll reward your contribution when we get back."

"Thank you, my lord!" Hayden said excitedly.

"Go and take care of the finishing work, tell them that we will set off for Eldoria tomorrow morning, and those who want to go should pack up." Henry ordered.

"Yes!" Hayden nodded seriously and then ran off.

As soon as Hayden entered the crowd, he was surrounded by the commoners of Hyratos. Previously, they didn't believe Hayden and the others, but now they all believed, especially since Hayden had spoken with Henry, the nobleman.

"Hayden, is it true that in Eldoria we can have a house to live in for just a few copper coins?"

"Depending on the size of the house, the rent for a large house is more than a dozen copper coins a month." Hayden patiently replied. He had answered this question dozens of times already.

"I heard that the minimum monthly salary is fifty copper coins?"

"Yes, the minimum monthly income is fifty copper coins, and if you know how to read, the salary is increased by twenty percent." Hayden continued to answer, and this question was asked the most frequently.

"I want to sign up, my whole family wants to go to Eldoria."

"My family also wants to go, and I heard that Lord Henry is a very good nobleman."

"Of course, Lord Henry is willing to send troops to support us, which is great proof."

Henry smiled upon hearing those comments. After seeing Henry, more and more commoners and merchants believed that Henry was a good nobleman, and no one would doubt the authenticity if his identity.

There was no need for Henry to go out and recruit people, this was the best choice. After all, getting population resources in other people's cities, those with good temperaments, would have to curse.

Of course, even if the Lord of Hyratos had this idea, he would not dare now, but it would arouse the vigilance of the nobles of other cities.

Henry never underestimated the nobles of this era. When it came to their interests, they might restrict the commoners in their territory and not let them leave.

What Henry wanted was for Eldoria to attract people from all over to come and work, which was a positive development, rather than actively going out to recruit people.

"Henry, today's events will spread, and everyone will praise your virtues." Mila said softly.

"I hope so!" Henry didn't dare to have too much hope, and those nobles had quite a few tricks up their sleeves.

A knight ran quickly towards Henry, and when he was about 25 feet away, he slowed down, and respectfully said, "Lord Henry, we invite you to move to the castle, where a banquet has been prepared."

"Okay!" Henry nodded and smiled lightly. "But we have to go back and clean up. After all, the smell of sin is not very pleasant."

"Yes! I will tell my lord!" The knight bowed again and then ran away.

"Let's go! Let's go back and get something, or we'll be hungry tonight." Henry thought of the delicacies of the nobles in this era and couldn't help but shudder.

"Okay!" Mila also nodded, looking very agreeable.

"Is there something delicious?" Tess said belatedly.
