Chapter 137 Are You a Prince?

Three long arrows flew out of the woods, instantly piercing the necks of three horse bandits, who fell to the ground, clutching their throats.

A figure dashed out of the woods, leaping onto a tree branch and diving into the group of bandits. With two military knives in hand, the figure swiftly dispatched the bandits, either slashing their throats or piercing their hearts.

Mila moved gracefully, her cat ears twitching occasionally. The bandits who came close to her were swiftly dealt with, each falling with a single strike.

Arrows continued to fly out of the woods, each finding its mark and taking down a bandit. In less than ten seconds, more than twenty bandits had been eliminated.

The sound of hurried footsteps echoed as the War Wolf Battle Squad charged out of the woods, firing a few crossbow bolts along the way.

Swords were unsheathed, their blades reflecting a white light that quickly turned red.

Tess felt a bit dizzy. What was happening? They had been in danger earlier, and then all the enemies had been defeated.

"Now is not the time to be lost in thought." Henry said.

A voice suddenly came from behind, startling Tess, who jumped about 6 feet away before turning around, only to be left dumbfounded.

"You? Are you a prince?" Tess asked, almost involuntarily. The person in front of her resembled the prince described in the Love Notes of a Noble Girl.

Tess thought, 'He was handsome and heroic, just like a prince.'

Henry's mouth twitched. Was this girl an airhead? Nobody thought she could ask this question in this situation.

But do I really look like a prince? Wait a minute. How did the conversation get derailed like this?

In the woods, he saw this girl suddenly stand up from the group of orcs, say some cringeworthy and embarrassing things, and then put on a show of tearing off the orc skin, followed by a brutal beating of the bandits.

Of course, it was cool, but also kind of silly, or rather, this person was just too naive!

"On your right!"

Henry suddenly shouted, lunging forward with his right hand already on the hilt of his sword in Tess's dazed eyes.

The blade passed by her neck, cutting off a few strands of purple hair, followed by a muffled grunt from behind!

Tess immediately dodged, and when she turned her head, she saw a bandit standing where she had been, now dead, propped up only by the blade, with the fatal wound being a pierced eye.

Henry pulled out his sword, sending the lifeless body to the ground.

What does it feel like to kill someone for the first time? He couldn't describe it, but it was definitely a visual shock that made him burn with righteous indignation.

It was also his first time seeing blood, and it was given to this bovine orc.

Speaking of which, it was even more spectacular than Mila's, fortunately Ellie didn't come. Otherwise, Henry could imagine the envious words Ellie would say!

With a final scream, the battle ended. Eleven people against fifty bandits, it was easy. Henry simply killed one person, and the battle was over.

"Henry, are you okay?"

Mila's figure quickly appeared in front of Henry. Her blue eyes filled with worry, she looked left and right and even wanted to lift Henry's clothes to check.

"I'm fine. No need to check."

Henry reached out and gently pinched the catgirl's cat ears, immediately causing Mila's cheeks to turn red. She obediently stood by.

Tess's purple eyes widened slightly. This handsome human and this cat orc? Their relationship seemed quite good!

Huh? Don't humans hate orcs? Tess immediately thought of her experiences over the past few days, where the ugly side of those humans was fully displayed before her.

The actions of the bandits today especially made Tess feel even more disgusted. But just now, this very handsome human, like a prince, saved her life!

Are there good humans in the world? Or are they all bad? Like that unlucky merchant who deceived her at the beginning?

"So annoying!" Tess exclaimed as she covered her forehead, and her straightforward mind seemed unable to grasp such complicated matters!

Henry and Mila exchanged a glance, unexpectedly finding this bovine orc a bit silly.

"Henry, there is not a single one left alive after checking." Leo reported, his face splattered with blood.

"Get ready to move out and prepare for interception!" Henry immediately issued new orders.

"Yes!"

The War Wolf Battle Squad immediately retrieved their crossbow bolts and wiped off the blood, and the pure steel bolts could be reused for a second or third time.

"Henry, what about these orcs?" Mila's blue eyes flickered, there were some things she didn't say, she didn't want to influence Henry's decision or judgment.

"It's up to them to choose!" Henry said calmly.

"Choose?" Mila tilted her head. What was there to choose?

Henry stepped forward to the more than four hundred orcs and said, "You are slaves, and I have two choices for you."

Before the orcs could react, Henry continued. "The first is your freedom. Those who want to leave can leave."

The orcs' numb eyes showed a slight fluctuation, but they remained crouched on the ground without any reaction.

"The second is to work for me. I will pay you a salary, and I will not restrict your freedom." Henry quickly stated the second choice.

As soon as these words were spoken, the numb eyes of the orcs flickered with a longing emotion, freedom, and the salary that represented the ability to fill their bellies, which was what they had always longed for.

"I will arrange for someone to come over later. If you are willing to work for me, just follow along at that time. If you are not willing, you can leave now."

After Henry finished speaking, he turned and walked towards the edge of the forest, and the real interception was just beginning.

Slaves never created as much benefit as free citizens. What he wanted was a group of commoners who worked hard for a better life, and not slaves who only worked when whipped.

People like the bandits were good slaves, but they should no longer be called people, they were a group of greedy demons, and the mining area was their good place to go.

"Henry, some of the bandits have started to flee." Leo immediately ran over to report.
