Chapter 197 Emerald Cloud Pharmacy.
"Clap, clap!"
"Whew... All done!"
Henry clapped his hands, looking at the clean and tidy bedroom. He stretched and thought about how he was now on Earth, getting ready to sell ginseng.
He needed to plan some things carefully. It was time to leave this city and find a more stable place.
Today was the day he was moving out. Henry had already chosen his new place; he just needed the money to buy it.
"Time to go, even though I haven't stayed here long."
Henry scanned the room, making sure he hadn't left any clues behind. He grabbed his prepared backpack and headed out the door.
"Bang!"
The door closed. Henry needed to get everything done today. If he didn't show up for too long, Mila and Ellie would start to worry.
He had just used the excuse of taking a nap to slip into the room and travel over. He only had four or five hours and needed to be back before dinner.
Henry handed the keys to the landlord, exchanged a few polite words, and left. He put on a hat and mask, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for the largest pharmacy in the city.
Half an hour later, he arrived, paid the fare, and got out.
"Emerald Cloud Pharmacy!"
Henry looked at the traditionally decorated pharmacy. It was a private shop that specialized in traditional Chinese medicine, not the kind that sold pills.
Emerald Cloud Pharmacy sold only herbal medicine. Henry had heard that the practitioners there were from a long line of traditional Chinese medicine doctors, now in their third generation.
He had also heard that people from other cities came here for treatment, and many wealthy individuals invited the doctors from Emerald Cloud Pharmacy to their homes. It was a well-known and reputable pharmacy.
This was one of the reasons Henry chose to sell his ginseng to Emerald Cloud Pharmacy. A reputable shop meant less chance of being cheated, and more importantly, they had money.
"Quite a crowd!" Henry noticed the line of people extending outside the door.
Waiting in line was not an option for Henry. He wasn't there for treatment; he was there to sell medicine.
Ignoring the murderous looks from the people around him, Henry stepped into the pharmacy. As soon as he entered, he smelled the scent of herbs, which was not overpowering but rather mild and pleasant.
The pharmacy looked like something out of a 90s movie, with a strong sense of history. Henry was even more satisfied.
"Sir, are you here for a consultation? If so, please get in line," a deep, magnetic voice said.
Spencer looked at the young man who had just entered and was glancing around. However, Spencer was surprised by the young man's demeanor.
Henry turned and saw a man in his forties, dressed in a modified traditional Chinese outfit that made him look very elegant, with a small tuft of beard below his chin.
"Are you Dr. Spencer?" Henry asked softly.
"Yes, and you are?" Spencer could tell that this young man wasn't here for treatment. He looked healthy.
"My name is Henry. Dr. Spencer, do you buy wild ginseng here?" Henry asked directly.
"Uh..." Spencer was momentarily stunned, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes. He nodded, "If it's ordinary wild ginseng, we don't buy it."
"Hey, coming to 'Emerald Cloud Pharmacy' means my wild ginseng is not ordinary. Dr. Spencer, would you like to appraise it?" Henry said confidently, with a smile on his face. "It shouldn't take too long."
"Well... alright, follow me." Spencer nodded. Such a confident young man was rare.
Henry followed Spencer to the inner hall. After they sat down, Henry didn't say much. He took a box out of his backpack and pushed it in front of Spencer.
"Dr. Spencer, please appraise it." Henry said calmly. He had done some research before coming here, and as long as the price wasn't too low, he would sell it.
"Alright!" Spencer opened the box and was stunned, staring blankly at the ginseng inside. He was a bit dumbfounded and said in a hoarse voice, "Is this freshly dug ginseng?"
"Yes! I'm an outdoor survival enthusiast. I dug up this ginseng by chance." Henry lied effortlessly.
"Wait a moment!" Spencer quickly stood up and rushed to the back hall. He needed to get his father. He didn't have much experience appraising freshly dug wild ginseng.
No, to be precise, he wasn't confident in appraising it. The wild ginseng Henry brought out was not small. Based on his experience, it was at least 150 years old.
"You're almost fifty, yet you still act so rashly." Soon, an elderly voice scolded.
"Dad, you'll understand when you see it." Spencer helped an old man out.
"Sorry to trouble you." Henry stood up and used a respectful tone.
"What a handsome young man, with such a good demeanor. You're quite extraordinary." Ryan praised Henry as soon as he saw him.
With over seventy years of life experience, it was the first time Ryan had seen a young man with such a presence.
Spencer looked at Henry in surprise. It was the first time he had heard his father praise a stranger so highly, especially someone so young.
"..." Henry didn't know how to respond, so he just smiled politely.
"Let me take a look." Ryan sat down, picked up a magnifying glass, and began examining the ginseng in the box.
After a while, Ryan's expression became serious. He muttered, "This is top quality, simply top quality."
"Whew, whew..."
After a while, Ryan was breathing heavily. Spencer nervously stepped forward to massage his chest, worriedly saying, "Dad, don't rush, take deep breaths..."
In this day and age, it's rare to find wild ginseng over a hundred years old. Now that he had encountered one, how could he not be excited?
"Alright, I'm fine."
After a while, Ryan waved his hand, still breathing heavily, and said seriously, "This is wild ginseng, freshly dug within the last ten days, and it's about 200 years old."
Spencer weighed the ginseng and reported a number, "Fresh weight, 352 grams!"
"Alright!" Ryan nodded and said to Henry seriously, "If you want to sell it, based on the last auction price, this ginseng is worth about 3.5 million."
Henry did some quick calculations and compared it to the information he had found. The price was fair and reasonable.
"Okay, 3.5 million it is!"
Henry nodded with a smile, then his tone changed, "But, I have another one for you to appraise!"
"What?"
"Dad, take deep breaths..."
