Chapter 193 Is This the Life of Nobility?
Leo just came out of the study, and the more he thought about it, the more he felt he had been reckless. How could he think of giving a beast cub to Henry? At the very least, he should have hunted a tiger.
"Wyatt, do you think Henry will like the pet I gave him?" Leo quietly asked Wyatt for advice.
"Don't do such things again," Wyatt said calmly, trying to stop the trend of giving Henry gifts. "Henry doesn't really like people giving him gifts in private."
"Got it." Leo's heart lifted slightly as he cautiously asked, "So, does Henry like the beast cub?"
"Smack!"
Wyatt slapped Leo on the back and scolded with a smile, "You already know the answer. Now get lost!"
"Hehehe... I'm off then!" Leo grinned and quickly ran to the front yard of the castle, where the other three were waiting for his news.
As soon as he reached the front yard, Leo saw Number Two, Number Five, and Number Eight pacing anxiously. They were worried that the grass roots they had collected were not the mission target.
"Hey! The captain's out," Number Two shouted.
Leo put on a serious face and approached the three, which made their hearts jump and their bright eyes dim.
"Attention!"
The three immediately stood up straight, chests out, eyes forward.
"The mission..." Leo said seriously, taking a deep breath, "is complete!"
Before the three could cheer, Leo said coldly, "The mission details are top secret. Keep your mouths shut!"
"Yes!" The three shouted in unison, their voices deep and powerful.
"I don't need to teach or say it again. The mission details, after this moment, no one is allowed to mention them. Otherwise, even if Henry doesn't do it, I will kill them myself." Leo's eyes flashed with cold light, exuding a chilling aura.
"Starting tonight for seven days, I'll keep a cloth in my mouth," Number Two said solemnly. Number Five and Number Eight nodded simultaneously. They were all trained, and they wouldn't leak secrets even if it meant death.
"Phew..." Leo exhaled lightly. After all, it was his first time executing a top-secret mission, and the pressure was immense.
Although he didn't know why Henry valued those grass roots so much, he knew one thing: Henry's orders were above all else.
"So, how did it go? What did Henry say?" Number Two suddenly stepped forward, winking.
Leo rolled his eyes and grinned, "Points reward increased by fifty percent, and we get two days off."
"Yeah!" The three cheered and high-fived each other.
"What about the little beast cub? Does Henry like it, or did he have it slaughtered for meat?" Number Eight asked curiously.
"Hehe... Henry really likes the beast cub, but Wyatt said not to do such things again, fearing it might have a bad influence," Leo seriously advised.
"Phew... As long as Henry likes it!" The three sighed in relief.
"Next time? There won't be a next time. Do you think Henry lacks anything? The only reason we gave the beast cub this time was because it was cute," Number Two chuckled.
"That's exactly it!" Leo nodded. Henry doesn't lack anything.
"By the way, Henry also rewarded us with something." Leo took out some chocolate from his pocket and said, "This is edible. How should we divide it?"
"This..."
"Let's sell it!" Number Five suddenly suggested. "There's a rumor outside that anything Henry rewards with is a rare delicacy. Many people are willing to pay a high price to taste it."
"Huh? Sell it?" Number Eight was shocked and hesitated. "Isn't that inappropriate? After all, it's a reward from Henry."
"It's not a big deal. Henry isn't that petty," Leo shook his head and looked at Number Five. "Are you sure? Will anyone buy it? It's just a piece of food; it's hard to sell it for a high price."
"No, you're all wrong." Number Five smiled mysteriously and lowered his voice. "You know Miss Ellie loves lollipops, right?"
"Of course, every kid in town knows that," the three responded.
Number Five's lips curled up. "Well, Miss Ellie has a limited edition lollipop rewarded by Henry. It's said there are only twelve of them. Guess how much it could sell for?"
"Uh... thirty copper coins?" Number Two hesitated.
"No, no, since it's a reward from Henry, I'd guess one hundred and twenty copper coins," Number Eight said seriously.
"Three hundred copper coins," Leo said, surprising Number Two and Number Eight. Then the three stared at Number Five, waiting for him to reveal the answer.
"You're all underestimating it," Number Five said, leaving the three stunned. "One lollipop was offered twenty silver coins by a merchant."
"What? Are you kidding?" Leo's eyes widened. "One? Not twelve?"
Twenty silver coins? What kind of concept is that? Their monthly salary was only one silver coin. A year's salary couldn't even compare to one lollipop?
This is too extravagant. Is this what noble life is like?
"Of course, it's one lollipop," Number Five confirmed with a nod. He was in charge of gathering intelligence, and the first time he heard this information, it shocked him too.
But it was true that a merchant had offered a high price for Miss Ellie's limited edition lollipop, but it was ultimately refused.
And that merchant, Number Five found out, was a big merchant from Royal City named Soro. It was said he wanted to buy the limited edition lollipop as a birthday gift for his daughter.
Of course, they wouldn't understand the world of the rich. The main thing now was that they had also received a reward.
"So what do we do now? We don't even know how much this can sell for," Leo carefully held the chocolate, afraid of damaging it.
"Just try and find out," Number Five raised an eyebrow.
"Are you sure? We don't even know what this thing tastes like," Number Eight hesitated.
"How about we just eat it ourselves?" Number Two licked his lips.
"No way, this is a big opportunity given by Henry. It would be a waste if we ate it," Number Five quickly stopped him.
"Do we have a target buyer?" Leo asked seriously.
Eating it was out of the question for him. Just thinking about biting into something worth copper coins made him worry he wouldn't sleep well at night.
"Yes, that big merchant Soro. I believe if he hears this comes from the Lord's mansion, he'll definitely buy it," Number Five said confidently.
"Alright, if it's less than one silver coin, we won't sell it. We'll eat it ourselves," Leo decided.
