Chapter 179 The Beast-Eared Girl is Hanging on a Tree!

The sound of a broken branch echoed. Emily sighed, watching Mila leading the way ahead. Despite her efforts to tread lightly, she couldn't help but make noise. She had caused Mila quite a bit of trouble on this journey. Even though Mila didn't mind, she's still a bit embarrassed.

This time, she was truly grateful that Mila had come with her. Otherwise, she might not have survived long after entering the Azure Peak Range. On their first day in the range, shortly after parting ways with the War Wolf Battle Squad, they encountered a bear. If it weren't for Mila's experience, she would have been killed.

Throughout the journey, they encountered all sorts of dangers, from poisonous insects to wild beasts, but Mila's keen perception and rich experience helped them through.

"It's getting dark. Let's take a break," Mila's figure appeared, her back carrying a compound bow given to her by Henry for protection.

"Okay! We're very close to the tribe. We'll be there by tomorrow afternoon," Emily said softly, her light red eyes filled with anticipation.

"The people of the tribe will be so happy to see you back," Mila said softly.

"Thank you for coming with me, Mila," Emily expressed her gratitude.

Mila shook her head, her blue eyes filled with a smile. "You're my friend, and you're a bit silly. I have to make sure you don't get into trouble."

"I'm not silly," Emily pouted, wondering why everyone called her a silly rabbit. She hadn't done anything foolish, had she?

"Alright, I've found a suitable place ahead to set up camp," Mila said.

She walked ahead, and Emily quickly followed, arriving at a large tree.

"Are we sleeping in the trees again tonight?" Emily blinked.

"Yes, it's safer up there," Mila said softly. She skillfully climbed up the branches, tied a rope from her backpack, and threw it down to Emily.

Emily took a deep breath, then slowly climbed up the rope, and Mila pulled her up onto the branch by her collar.

"You sit tight, and I'll secure the sleeping bags," Mila said. She took out the sleeping bags from her backpack, then a few large iron nails, and hammered them into the tree trunk with the handle of a military knife. She then hung up the sleeping bags and tied them securely.

"Okay!" Emily replied.

Emily held onto the branch, watching Mila's busyness. She finally understood why Henry favored Mila. In addition to being the first orc that the Henry had encountered, Mila was really capable and knowledgeable.

"All done!" Mila easily hung up the two sleeping bags. These were given to them by Henry, and she had never expected such things. In the past, she would just climb a tree to cut a few branches and make a bed out of them.

Emily slowly moved to the edge of the sleeping bag, and then with Mila's help, she slowly climbed into it. It was at this moment that she finally relaxed.

"Henry really have a lot of magical things. I'm always amazed when I see them," Emily exclaimed.

"Indeed, Henry is like a bottomless pit that makes people want to know more about him," Mila said with a gentle smile.

She took out a small transparent bottle from her pocket and sprayed it around the sleeping bag. She heard Henry say that it was for repelling mosquitoes and bugs, and indeed, there were no mosquitoes or insects bothering them after using it last night.

Mila then pulled out a rope from her backpack. The rope was covered with sharp triangular iron spikes, and she wrapped it around the main trunk of the tree to prevent nocturnal attacks by tree-climbing beasts.

After finishing these tasks, Mila crawled into the sleeping bag and took out a small bag of dried fish from her backpack, handing it to Emily, saying, "Have some dried fish."

"Aren't you saving some for later? It seems there's not much left," Emily knew that it was given to Mila by Henry and hesitated, "Let's eat something else. Didn't the Henry give us those small biscuits?"

"That's called compressed biscuits, they don't have much taste. It's better to eat them with dried fish," Mila said, stuffing the dried fish into Emily's hand and chuckled, "I still have three packs!"

Mila then took out the compressed biscuits, which were not very large, and even she would be full after eating a few pieces. The only downside was that they didn't have much flavor.

The two of them, hanging in the tree, ate the compressed biscuits, accompanied by the dried fish, and took a few sips of water. This was their dinner.

As the sky darkened, the distant roar of wild beasts made Emily slightly nervous. She quickly covered the sleeping bag with its curtain, which had a mesh that allowed for breathing and also protected against mosquito bites.

Mila didn't pay any attention. She had heard this kind of sound many times before, but now she was starting to miss the soft and gentle bed in the castle.

"Mila, I have a question for you," Emily's voice sounded, a little too quiet for her to bear.

"Okay! Go ahead," Mila said casually.

"Mila, do you think Henry would marry a female orc?" Emily's words were astonishing. "Or, would Henry marry you?"

"What are you talking about!" Mila blushed, her blue eyes filled with shyness.

"I was just curious, you don't have to answer," Emily said slowly. She didn't know why she wanted to ask this question, maybe out of curiosity. As for whether she would like Henry, she didn't know, but she did have a good impression of him!

The atmosphere quieted down again, except for the distant roar of wild beasts, disturbing the peaceful night.

"I don't have an answer to that question," Mila suddenly broke the silence, a smile playing at the corner of her mouth, "Actually, I'm also curious. Although there is a glimmer of hope in my heart, but..."

Emily knew what Mila didn't say, because they were both orcs. If a noble were to marry a female orc, it would indeed invite the disdain of many nobles.

"But Henry said that he might marry a female orc," Mila said softly, "I have sometimes fantasized that Henry would marry me, even if I'm not his only wife, I don't want to leave Henry."

"Yes, Henry have fulfilled all the promises, so it's possible that he will really marry a female orc!"

Emily's eyes flashed with surprise as she looked at the dark night, her tone a bit light. "After all, Henry is a special noble! Then, Mrs. Mila, please take care of me in the future!"

"What are you talking about? Maybe you will also become Mrs. Emily."

"Really?"

"No!""
