Chapter 190 Let her Work in the Castle
"No, if I eat without paying, maybe I won't be allowed in next time." Elisa immediately vetoed the idea of dining and dashing.
"Are you here for a job interview?" Willow asked softly.
Elisa turned her head abruptly and found herself being curiously observed by a group of five or six people.
Elisa blinked her green eyes in confusion. What was going on? How did all these people end up walking beside her without her noticing? Has her vigilance really deteriorated to this extent? Was it because her current life was too comfortable, or did she believe there's no danger in this city?
"What's wrong?" Willow looked at the dazed girl and asked gently. "Do you have any questions?"
Elisa snapped back to reality and quickly shook her head, whispering, "I'm here for the job."
"Then come in." Willow took out the keys from her pocket, opened the shop door, and let Henry enter first before allowing the others in.
"This place is quite good." Henry looked around in surprise at the pizzeria's decor, which was a bit different from what he expected. Although it had a feminine touch, it was also simple and elegant.
"It's all based on the design Henry provided, with some additions that everyone likes," Willow said with a smile.
"I can see that." Henry nodded, especially noticing the huge lollipop pattern on the wall, which was clearly Ellie's handiwork.
And then there were the large bull horns used as hangers at the counter, which, although practical, were quite large. This should be Tess's contribution.
As for the tables, they were all adorned with pairs of cat eyes, with a gaze that could be described as 'bewildered,' which seemed to be Mila's design, given the small fish patterns as well.
And finally, there were the ceramic cups with a pair of rabbit ears on the rim. What kind of design was this? It made Henry's mouth twitch. Bunny Girl had always been unique.
"Henry, do you think the lollipop pattern is beautiful? I drew it myself," Ellie said, pulling Henry over to the huge lollipop pattern, looking for his praise.
"It's great, everyone will love it," Henry said, patting Ellie's head and praising her. "Next time, you can draw one in your own room."
"Really?" Ellie's brown eyes lit up.
"Yes, next year the castle is going to be renovated, and you can design your own room then," Henry said with a light laugh.
He was planning to introduce some facilities to the castle, at least there should be running water. He didn't want to have to fetch water every time he needed to wash his hands.
It's too late for this year. Winter was coming, and the running water would freeze, so many things would have to wait until next spring.
"Yeah!" Ellie jumped up happily, then found a table and took out a notebook to jot down some design inspirations, like the lollipop pattern.
Henry sat across from Ellie, pulled out a chair next to him, and waved to Mila, who obediently sat next to him, everything looked so natural.
Tess sat next to Ellie, and the three of them watched Ellie draw and paint, leaving Elisa looking confused.
What's going on? Elisa felt like she was being ignored. She also recognized Henry as the lord of Eldoria.
Elisa felt that this young noble was quite special. He could actually get along harmoniously with orcs, which was a bit unexpected.
Elisa now understood the reason behind the strange name of this shop. It was run by these several orc girls, including two female orcs, one of whom she had followed to the bank last time.
Now Elisa remembered that she still had a banknote with her, which contained more than nine hundred copper coins. Should she go and withdraw it to spend?
Elisa sighed. She decided not to. The banknote was beautiful, and it would be better to keep the copper coins for future use.
"What's your name?" Willow turned and asked.
Elisa replied, "I'm Elisa."
"I'm Willow, one of the managers. Please follow me to the kitchen. I need to test your abilities." Willow led Elisa to the kitchen.
"Okay!" Elisa followed.
After a while, Elisa came out wearing an apron, carrying a tray with four cups of water.
"Please enjoy the water," Elisa said elegantly, placing the four cups of water from the tray, then nodded politely and went back into the kitchen.
"This girl is not simple!" Mila's blue eyes narrowed slightly as she sensed something unusual. In front of Henry, an ordinary person would not be able to remain so calm and composed.
"There are many extraordinary people. Perhaps she just wants to find a job. Let her be, but keep an eye on her in private," Henry said lightly.
Originally, there were traps on the recruitment form, such as requirements for literacy and etiquette. No matter how you looked at it, it was not something a simple person would meet. They were either nobles or some kind of special talent.
In fact, Willow would not recruit according to the requirements on the recruitment form, after all, it was a matter of clutching at some last hope. If they couldn't find anyone, they would just transfer a few people from the castle, but they didn't expect that someone would actually come.
"Understood." Mila understood Henry's meaning, which was not to startle her and to keep a close watch.
Henry instructed, "Observe for a few months, and if there are no problems, let her work in the castle."
Henry said to Ellie, "There are too few literate people in the castle, and it will only get busier in the future. You have the opportunity to get in touch with her and see what her character is like."
"Understood!" Ellie knew that Henry was finding her an assistant. Recently, she had indeed been a bit overwhelmed.
Of course, except for yesterday. After learning how to play Texas Hold'em Poker, she and Tess spent the whole day playing in Willow's room, forgetting about their official duties. She was busy today.
Elisa had no idea that her identity had already been partially exposed. Now, she was very interested in following Willow to make pizza and knead the dough.
"Don't add too much water... You put too much flour..." Willow instructed while kneading the dough.
"Yes!" Elisa wiped her nose, leaving a white mark, and then earnestly rolled out the dough.
Willow praised, "Very good, you did well with this. But next time, don't put too much meat."
"I will try my best." Elisa was completely immersed in the joy of making pizza.
After half an hour of hard work, the pizza was ready. With a rich aroma of dough and the scent of meat, which hit Elisa's nostrils and taste buds, making her almost drool.
This fragrance made Elisa decide to work in this shop...
