Chapter 98 Mila Was the Real Winner in Life
The luxurious carriage was a result of Henry's painful experience riding a horse, which left his thighs scraped. To avoid further discomfort, he acquired this noble vehicle.
Riding could be learned, but the enjoyment of life should be completed on time.
Henry climbed the small ladder on the side of the carriage. Once inside, he saw Mila blankly staring at the carriage's decor. He knew instantly what she was thinking. According to the mindset of the catgirls, this carriage could be sold for a few dozen gold coins.
"How do you like it?" Henry sat on a cushion, looking at the dazed Mila. "What are you waiting for? Take a seat; we're leaving."
Mila scratched her cheek, her sky-blue eyes were a bit mysterious, not daring to meet Henry's gaze. She always felt something was different today, making her feel a bit uneasy.
At some point, she had been spending less and less time alone with Henry. Any sudden alone time could make her feel different, maybe it was a different state of mind.
Mila sat a bit stiffly next to Henry. She thought to herself, 'What's happening to me today? Could it be due to a lack of sleep last night? But I've gone without sleep for two days before, and it wasn't a big problem, was it?'
Henry pulled a rope on the side of the carriage, which was tied to a bell on the frame, a kind that would only ring if activated from the inside.
Outside, David quickly picked up the signal to drive the carriage. David and others had all come today for a military operation, or perhaps it would be more appropriate to call it a drill.
The carriage didn't shake much. Henry nodded in satisfaction, indicating that the shock absorbers he bought from the auto repair shop were quite good.
Henry lifted the curtain and looked at the slowly receding houses. Riding in a carriage was a novel experience.
The atmosphere was silent; neither of them spoke, much like when they were in the study. Of course, Mila was somewhat different; she could feel her heart beating faster, and her eyes inadvertently glanced at Henry, who was looking out the window.
Mila thought, 'Henry's profile looks really good. I want to kiss it.'
Mila was startled by her thoughts, her heart suddenly beating faster. These thoughts were unlike any she had had before yesterday, and they had emerged unconsciously today.
Mila's hands fidgeted together, and the scene of Ellie kissing Henry emerged in her mind. Indeed, she couldn't forget that scene from yesterday, or perhaps she was unwilling to.
Mila was thinking, 'In the enclosed carriage, there's only Henry and me. Am I expecting something? After all, Willow and Ellie don't come along today.'
Henry looked at the receding houses for a while, then, finding it a bit boring, he lowered the curtain and turned to look at Mila, meeting a pair of blue eyes.
For a moment, Henry was entranced. They were very beautiful eyes, like a pure blue pond.
"Henry!" Mila softly called out, like a timid kitten. She had never been stared at by Henry like this; her blue eyes dodged left and right, and finally, she blushed and lowered her head.
Henry curled his mouth slightly, looking at the shy Mila. This was a beautiful sight he had rarely seen before, especially with Ellie, Mila rarely calmed down.
Was Mila beautiful? In Henry's opinion, she was more beautiful than the most beautiful actress on Earth, not to mention her natural cat ears, which added quite a few points.
Today, Mila's black hair wasn't tied into a ponytail. As she hung her head, her hair slowly slipped down, covering her fair cheeks.
This made Henry unable to help but reach out and pinch her hair, slowly pulling it back for her. This revealed Mila's delicate face, which was now a shade of pink, her long eyelashes trembling.
This scene made Henry's heart beat faster, and the atmosphere gradually became ambiguous. His throat moved, and he felt like he should do something.
"Mila." Henry gently called out, his hand that was holding her hair slowly sliding to Mila's cheek.
"Henry." Mila turned her head, her sky-blue eyes full of tears, and her eyelashes trembling. She had never been this nervous before, even when she killed someone for the first time.
Her state of mind was chaotic. She looked at Henry's black eyes like a helpless kitten, the two of them staring at each other at close range.
They were both oblivious to everything around them, only seeing each other. As Henry slowly approached, Mila's cheeks turned redder, her cat ears drooped down, and her cat tail stopped swinging. Finally, she closed her eyes in anticipation.
Henry smelled the faint scent coming from Mila and gently kissed her lips.
The soft touch was immersive; two beginners who had never kissed before were awkwardly exploring.
They didn't know how long it had been before they separated, panting, a clear thread hanging between them.
What it felt like to kiss, Henry only knew at this moment how wonderful it was, perhaps because it was a kiss with mutual affection.
Henry looked at Mila, her cheeks flushed, and couldn't help but lower his head again. They kissed again, Mila's hands wrapping around Henry's neck.
Henry's hands slowly circled Mila's slender waist...
Willow and Ellie never expected that Mila would have Henry's first kiss.
It was a wonderful, yet awkward, first kiss.
