Chapter 80 The Plan of the Hospital in the Otherworldly World
Willow's delicate hand took the pill, her eyes sparkling with curiosity as she observed the colorful medication.
"Henry, will this make her better?" Ellie licked her lips, tempted to taste the medicine despite its pungent smell.
"Let's leave it to fate," Henry replied. He wasn't a medical professional, but he had acquired some knowledge online.
The three women were taken aback by his response; leaving it to fate seemed like a step into hell.
Henry felt helpless. The virus had taken hold of the Bunny Girl, evidenced by her fever.
"Administer the medicine; there's a 60% chance it might help." Henry urged.
He then cleaned her wounds, removed the infected tissue, applied medication, and bandaged her up.
The Bunny Girl winced in pain, her body involuntarily convulsing.
Henry, covered in sweat, looked at the now calm Bunny Girl. Her delicate face, usually so vibrant, was now pale. He had done all he could, but he wasn't sure if she would survive.
He had no idea about the immunity of beings from other realms to diseases or if the virus had properties similar to those on Earth. In a world where even orcs existed, anything was possible.
If one day he saw extinct dinosaurs from Earth in this world, he wouldn't be surprised. He would happily take a picture and post it on social media with the caption: [Hey! I'm right here at the scene in the Jurassic World!]
Well, that was just his wild imagination. If he did see dinosaurs, he would probably rush to call all the beast folk girls, grab his gear, capture the dinosaurs, and start a zoo, charging a silver coin for entry.
"Let her rest quietly. Willow, please bring some grits and feed her a little." Henry instructed.
"Of course!" Willow softly replied.
Mila, watching Henry walk away, said to Ellie, "Slave traders must have injured her."
"Yes! A hooked spear definitely caused the wound on her arm." Ellie said with a serious expression.
Hooked spears were the favorite weapons of slave traders. The spearheads had barbs that made them difficult to pull out once they pierced someone.
"Keep an eye on her. I don't want Henry to get hurt." Mila said coldly, leaving out the unspoken part about not wanting Henry to see the hatred in the eyes of beast folk towards humans.
"Understood. I'll talk to her when she wakes up." Ellie said seriously, her usually lively demeanor replaced by a sad one.
The atmosphere fell silent, and Ellie felt uneasy. She thought, 'If without encountering a nobleman like Henry, she might one day be pursued by slave traders like this rabbit tribe orc.'
Meanwhile, Henry was contemplating a medical question—whether to establish a hospital.
"Minor ailments can be resolved, but major illnesses pose a challenge." Henry wrote on paper with the words "Traditional Medicine" and "Modern Medicine" at the top.
Traditional Medicine focuses on nourishment, immune enhancement, and other aspects. Modern Medicine emphasizes quick results but relies heavily on pharmaceuticals and surgery.
Henry circled the words "Traditional Medicine." Both had their strengths and weaknesses, but as he wasn't a medical expert, he could only discern what was effective.
He decided to open a hospital, train a few doctors to treat common illnesses like colds, and emphasized that Traditional Medicine was most suitable for the era. Using herbs and following popular prescriptions could heal many diseases.
He planned to start from scratch, collecting case studies, drug reactions, and more. Sustainability was his goal—relying less on the Earth. Traditional medicine would be the primary support for Modern medicine, which would develop first depending on society's receptiveness.
Henry said, "I wonder if this world has ginseng, angelica, and other medicinal herbs."
Henry nibbled on a pastry, leaning back on a soft wolf-skin chair. "If they exist, a few millennium-old ginseng roots would suffice. No need to sell gold next time; too many sales will eventually cause issues."
Henry murmured, "I'll ask Wyatt. If he knows, it'll save a lot of effort."
Hunter? Wyatt was a powerful knight and hunter, as were his five sons.
Mention Wyatt, and he appeared, ready to report on the estate's finances to Henry.
"Henry, this is the situation in the estate..." Wyatt began, but Henry cut him off.
Henry asked, "Wyatt, have you seen these types of herbs?"
Henry described the appearance of ginseng, angelica, and other herbs to Wyatt.
Frowning, Wyatt tried to recall the descriptions of these herbs. He managed to recognize one.
"I remember seeing an herb similar to ginseng in the Azure Peak Range, but I'm not sure if it's the same as what you described." Wyatt said.
When Wyatt was young, he was one of the top hunters in this region, and he ventured deep into the Azure Peak Range.
"That's great news! Can we find it now?" Henry asked anxiously.
"We can!" Wyatt nodded. He had a vivid memory of the area, as it was home to a certain creature...
