Chapter 104

Chapter 104

“Oh, is that so? It could be very difficult to be alone. There’s no one else you could rely on except your parents,” Mrs. Alvarez exclaimed.

She nodded her head. “Yes, Auntie. You are right. That’s why I need to be strong,” she said smiling though deep inside her she felt lonely because the truth was, she was not alone like what the old woman was thinking. When she found out that she was pregnant with
Luke, she was grateful that her best friend, Elene, was there to help her. She was the person whom she leaned on during those times of her life. If her best friend was not with her during that time, she didn’t know what she should be doing.

Levi and Amelia left Mrs. Alvarez’s house and they went back home. But when they were on their way, Levi asked her if she wanted to go and watch a movie.

“Babe, I think it’s still early for us to get back home. I am thinking about how we let’s go for a movie?” Levi asked her.

Amelia looked at her wristwatch. It was past six in the evening. It was still early, and they could only watch one movie.

“Alright, so, what are we going to watch? Do you have any idea what movies are showing?”

Levi shrugged his shoulders as a response.

“Hmn… Let’s just decide when we get there and see what’s currently showing,” Levi said.

As soon as they reached the mall, they went straight to the movie theater. The movie was about to start so they didn’t wait for so long outside the cinema.

They chose to see a science fiction movie. Levi and Amelia were there for more than an hour and it was already past eight in the evening when they decided to have dinner in the restaurant which was just next to the cinema.

“Table for two please,” Levi said to the waiter who greeted them at the entrance of the restaurant.

“Okay, sir. Please this way,” the waiter led them inside of the restaurant.

Amelia immediately noticed that Cameron was also inside the restaurant. She was with her friends in the corner. She didn’t know whether she would just ignore their presence, or she should be telling Levi about it. She sat down on the chair that Levi pulled for her. He took the menu that was given by the waiter.

Her heart was pounding so fast as she was silently hoping that Cameron didn’t notice their presence. She couldn’t imagine what the woman could do just in case she saw them.
Knowing everything that Cameron had done in Levi’s life, she couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.

Levi and Amelia gave their orders to the waiter. She ordered mashed potato paired with steamed vegetables since she had a heavy meal at Mrs. Alvarez’s house while Levi had a steak and steamed rice for him.

“How about wine? Do you want a glass of wine?” Levi offered.
“I should be okay with a glass of orange juice,” she said and smiled.

It didn’t take long, and the waiter arrived with their orders. They quietly had their dinner. Levi even cut a piece of meat and then he fed her which she didn’t refuse. They were already official, and she thought that there was no reason for her to embarrass the man. Finally, the meal was over. She was surprised that Cameron didn’t come to their table and ruin their dinner until the time that they already left. She just shrugged her shoulders. Probably, Cameron didn’t notice their presence and Amelia felt relieved because of that thought. But at the same time, she couldn’t turn away the worry that she had inside her chest just in case Cameron learned that Levi was already in a relationship with another woman. How would the woman handle that? What would she be doing given that she was even bragging to her friends that she would be able to get back Levi’s attention?

“Is everything okay?” Levi’s voice brought her back from sanity. She lifted her head and then she answered him.

“Yes, I am. Why?” She asked as her eyebrows furrowed. She was surprised with the man at her.

Levi looked at her intently. It was as if the man was trying to read her mind.

“I just noticed that you seem to look bothered. Are you sure that you are, okay? That everything is okay?” Levi asked her again. He looked like he was not convinced of her answer.

Amelia nodded her head. “Yes, of course,” she smiled.

“Okay but promise me that you will tell everything that’s bothering you and that you will not leave me again without saying any words, okay?” Levi said and Amelia nodded again as a response. “Do you want anything to buy before we go home?”

She shook her head.

“No, and I guess that we need to go home because I still have work for tomorrow. And remember that it will also be the first day of your practice,” Amelia reminded him.

“Alright, boss. Let’s go home,” Levi replied and then he winked at her. She just smiled with the gesture of the man.

She could say that Levi was very far from the man that she had seen at the hospital with his parents. He improved a lot since they had a session and now, they were already in a relationship.

The man seemed to be more positive in life and determined on what he wanted to achieve in his life and she felt thankful. She could see that Levi was able to recover from the pit that he had fallen into. And, she couldn’t be more thankful. Even Logan told her that he noticed the happiness that he had seen in his brother’s eyes.

They were outside of the mall heading into the parking lot when all of a sudden, she closed her eyes.
There was a continuous flash of cameras that were on them and she almost got blind because of the light coming from the cameras.
