“So, you are telling me now that you are ready to reveal yourself?” Her friend’s tone was somewhat surprising, which she could understand. She had hidden herself for a couple of years and all of a sudden, she decided to show up.

Just how quickly she was gone in Levi’s sight, the instant she would be appearing in front of him.

“Yes, I am thinking about that,” she said while looking at her best friend while nodding. “I guess this is the right time for him to see me after three long years,” she added as she recalled the man’s face.

She felt the strange emotions that she could only feel when Levi was around her. She couldn’t explain but Levi had the same effect on her like how he was able to affect her heart beat a couple of years ago.

“Oh, rekindling the past,” Elene said and then they both giggled.

“Silly, but who knows, right? I don’t want to say anything yet that I might regret later,” Amelia replied to her best friend who happened to be Levi’s cousin as well.

They were sitting in the lawn while watching the sunset together. It was one of the beautiful sceneries and her favorite. It just showed to her that ending was all the greatest part of everyone’s life.

Just like a fairy tale with a happy ending. Would she have that in her life?

The orange color of the sky actually blended perfectly in the emotions that she had inside of her. She couldn’t explain why these emotions suddenly stirred up inside and she wanted to scold herself.

She let out a deep sigh before she took a sip of coffee. It was a coffee they bought in the nearby café at the place.

“Do you know that he is already thinking that it might be you? The one that would be his personal therapist?” Elene suddenly mumbled which made her eyes go wide.

“Really?” She asked as her forehead was knitted. “I had a face mask when Doctor Sandoval introduced me to them so how is that even possible?” She asked as her eyebrows were drawn together.

Elene looked at her as she couldn’t even believe that she was really thinking of doing that. Then she nodded.

She shook his head because of disbelief.

“Yes, he told me. But you really didn’t remove your mask when you met them?” She asked, full of curiosity in her voice, and she was trying not to laugh.

“Well, yes. But it was not because of that,” she giggled. “I don’t have the intention to surprise him once we meet but because I am coughing really badly that time I don’t know if I should be thankful or what. I am worried that I would be creating an awkward ambiance at that time. You know that when I ate nuts before I came at Doctor’s Sandoval’s office,” she exclaimed.

That was true. Amelia had no intention of hiding herself again just like what she had done for the past three years though she was trying to prepare herself for the encounter that she would be having with Levi. She knew that she might add to the wounded heart of the man but what else could she do? She needed the money and if she would decline the offer, she would not know when the chance for her would come again.

She comforted herself silently with the situation that she would soon have with Levi.

“Yes, I knew that. Actually, I really wanted to see my cousin’s reaction when you both are going to meet and then you started to work for him. Gosh! I can’t wait for that. Just like those scenes I see in movies,” Elene in a thrilled voice. She was obviously fluttering as she imagined the things that she was saying.

She shook her head because of her friend’s reaction. What was thrilling with that? For all she knew the man had hated her because she was suddenly gone before.
She couldn’t tell if the man even wanted to see her, but he was left with no choice because she was already hired, and everything had been already settled.

“You know what? You are really naughty! Why don’t you just come with me on my first day of work? So that I would not feel awkward at all,” she said while looking at her. She didn’t know why but she felt her heart pounding when she realized that she would be starting soon as her ex-boyfriend’s physical therapist.

It had been a couple of years, but she couldn’t deny the sudden excitement that rose inside her

“Well, I like that idea,” Elene responded and then they both laughed.

“You are really naughty but to be honest, I am worried and scared at the same time,” she said with a sullen face. “I don’t know what I should be doing once I see him.”

It was the truth. She knew that Levi might confront her because of what happened to them three years ago, but she could be wrong.

“Why? Do you really have to feel that now? I mean the offer had been already accepted,” Elene said.

“Yes, I know that but what if he gets mad at me? Then he would say that he just wanted to terminate the contract. Instead of me letting him work for him,” she replied. Fear crippled inside her heart. This job meant a lot to her.

She couldn’t understand how fate was trying to play at her. She had been waiting for this opportunity for so long but when it came, she had to work for her ex-boyfriend whom she left three years ago. She couldn’t imagine how Levi would take everything in.

Amelia suddenly looked to nowhere as she questioned herself if everything that she had done was the right thing to do.

Yes, Amelia knew that the pay was higher than the position in the hospital but along with that was also her peace of mind might be taken away from her. She might be always thinking about the man.
