Chapter 88
Chapter 88
The couch would be helping him warm up his body so he could swim again. Slowly, he assured him that he could swim fast, and he really had to because he only had two months for the training until the competition started.
Even if he didn’t want to pressure himself, he couldn’t help it because he needed to.
He immediately got back home after the meeting because he knew that Amelia was waiting for him, and he really missed the woman already.
Levi found Amelia in the kitchen and while watching, he could say that the woman was enjoying what she was doing while she was listening to the music.
She was like a wife preparing food for her husband and he was like a husband who just came from work and looking for his wife to meet him as he came back home from a day’s work.
Levi couldn’t help but hug her from behind which caused her to be startled and accidentally burned her finger.
“I am just going to change my clothes. Just wait for me. It is already cooked, and I just need to boil it for a little bit to make the sauce thicker,” he said and then after that he kissed her cheeks and left.
Levi changed his clothes as soon as he got inside his room. He was about to leave the room when he noticed that his mobile phone was lit up. There was a message.
His eyebrows were drawn together when he saw that it came from an unregistered number wondering who it was.
He decided to open the message and he was surprised to see that it came from Cameron. He never forgot her number, he memorized it since he started courting her. In fact, it was the only number that he memorized.
“Hi, Levi. How are you? I hope that you are doing well. I want to apologize for all the things that I have done before. I just realized that I shouldn’t listen to them. I shouldn’t follow them when they ask me to break up with you. Now, I admit that I am suffering as I can’t forget you. Please, forgive me. Give me a chance. Nothing changed, Levi. I still love you,” this was Cameron's message to him. He could imagine the woman making a face while she was typing this message.
But Levi just shook his head. While reading the message, he couldn’t help but frown and then he smirked. He couldn’t quite imagine where Cameron was getting all the courage to message him. It was as if nothing happened. It was like she didn’t ruin his image back then. She was acting like she didn’t abandon him after she made stories all over the national TV. She was a shameless woman. He couldn’t help but think that six months ago, Cameron accused him for being rude and broke in the public. In his father’s burial, he purposely kept his silence while she was next to him. He knew that the media was around. And, when she went with them to his parent’s house, she even joined him in the bed as if she was still in a relationship with him.
Levi knew that she felt disgusted by him when he pooped in front of him. While her face couldn’t be painted, Amelia was there to clean him. Cameron didn’t even offer any help.
She was just acting concerned and kind when there was a camera. But when there’s none, her true color was being revealed.
He hated her because it was very obvious that the woman was just using him.
If there’s a woman he should forgive after she broke his heart in the part, it would be no other than Amelia and not Cameron. Even though he was paying her for her service as his personal therapist and nurse, he could say that she did it with love and care.
He never saw Amelia complain about anything that she needed to do. She was professional. She had been so patient with him.
Levi threw his phone on the top of the bed and then went outside of his room. He didn’t want his night to be ruined by Cameron. That shameless woman!
“How was the meeting with your coach?” Amelia asked when they were already sitting on the dining table.
“It was great. It went smoothly. In fact, he asked me to meet him again this coming Sunday afternoon, we will have practice,” he said, and he couldn’t hide the excitement that he was feeling in his voice. He never thought that he would really be back on track sooner that everyone had expected.
And he was grateful to the woman who was in front of him. Amelia never gave up on him and he was thankful for that.
“Wow, that’s great. I can see that you really want to join this competition. Isn’t that two months from now?” She asked as she tried to recall the date of the Olympics.
“Yes, that’s right. It will be in Jakarta, Indonesia this time,” he said as he imagined himself being one of the athletes that would represent the country in the said Olympics.
“Alright, I know that you can do it. Just stay focused. Keep your eyes on the goal and I know that there’s nothing impossible,” she said while smiling at him. She was looking at him and she could see in her eyes that she had faith in his ability that he could really make it.
Amelia never failed to make him feel strong.
Levi couldn’t help but look at the woman intently. He was looking into her as if he wanted to stand up from his seat and say to her that he loved her so much. He couldn’t understand himself but suddenly, he felt his heart was beating so fast and he found himself getting a little bit scared.
He looked at the woman directly in her eyes.
“Yes, I know that I can do it and I will do it for you. Please, if ever I leave for the competition, I hope I can see you still. Don’t leave me again.”
