Chapter 87
Amelia was startled which made the pan lid slide in her hand and that made her finger burnt.
“Ouch,” she uttered, and she quickly pressed it with her other hand. She bit her lower lip as she felt the pain in her finger.
She felt the hands wrapped in her waist loosened.
Levi turned her around and she could see the worry in his face.
“Oh, I am sorry, babe. I didn’t mean to startle you,” Levi apologized and then he turned off the stove. He pulled her in the chair and made her sit down.
“Let me see it,” he said and then he took her finger that was burnt.
“It’s okay. Don’t worry. I just need to put cream on it,” she said and then she took her finger again from him. “This is far from my intestine,” she added in a joking tone.
Deep inside her, she was enjoying the concern that she could see from Levi’s face. It seemed that the man couldn’t afford her to get hurt.
She was so focused on what she was doing, and she didn’t notice his presence inside the penthouse. There were a lot of things that were running inside her mind that she had lost herself while she was preparing their meal.
Levi shook his head and looked at her as if she was like a child that got burnt.
“Alright, just stay here and I am just going to get the burn medicine for you,” Levi said and before she could even say anything, he walked out of the kitchen and went to the direction where the first aid kid was.
Levi didn’t take a while and he was back in the kitchen. Amelia was just watching the man as he started to put the cream in her finger that was burnt. Then, he continued what she was doing.
“Just stay here and let me continue cooking our meal,” he said in a firm voice. It was as if he was saying that she shouldn’t be stubborn and just stay where she was.
“There’s really no need. It is almost cooked. I just need to put the vegetables in. Go and change your outfit and I will serve dinner,” she insisted.
He looked at her directly as if she wouldn’t listen to him, he wouldn’t be happy.
“No, just stay there. Let me do this instead,” Levi said in an authoritative voice and she knew that he was not going to take no as an answer. He didn’t let her continue cooking the meal. He went to the stove, and he was the one who did it.
Amelia was quietly looking at him while he was doing all the things that she should be doing. She couldn’t imagine how lucky she was to have Levi in her life. She stood up and she prepared the table for them. She was perfectly fine as it was only a little burn on her finger. Levi was just overreacting about it or it was possible that he felt guilty because he startled her. That's why the pan slid on her hands.
“Alright, this is all done. I am just going to change,” Levi excused himself and then he went out of the kitchen.
Levi was busy in his work at the office when he received a call from his coach. He wanted to meet him regarding his plan of going back into swimming. He wanted to join the Olympic games and he knew that his coach was already aware about his recovery.
Levi met his coach in a nearby restaurant and then he asked the driver to pick up Amelia at the hospital. He was so excited, and he couldn’t delay that meeting. He knew that Amelia would understand him because she was well aware that he wanted to go back to his passion. It was the main reason why he wanted to have the therapy in the first place.
But in the middle of his meeting with his coach, he received a message from his driver and Logan. The latter told him that he would be the one who would pick up Amelia at the hospital because he sent the driver to bring his car to the car shop for maintenance.
He was surprised when he read the message. Levi couldn’t deny to himself that he felt annoyed with his brother. It looked like Logan was trying to get Amelia’s attention. It was like he was flirting with the woman, especially that he didn’t tell Logan about what kind of relationship he and Amelia had.
Since a lot of things happened to his family, he wanted to take everything slow.
He didn’t want them to be surprised because he got into a relationship with his nurse and at the same time a private physical therapist.
Levi’s family only knew that Amelia was still working with him because he still needed her for all his needs. They knew that he couldn’t abuse his legs, so he still needed Amelia when he felt pain in his legs.
He didn’t want to compete with his brother and aside from that there was a part of his heart that was saying that he should trust Amelia. He should always think that the woman wouldn’t do anything that would hurt him again or even ruin the relationship that they have.
Levi could feel that Amelia was being true to her.
He shook his head to turn away the negative thoughts that started to be inside his mind.
The coach asked him to meet him again on Sunday after lunch for his practice. He said that if he really wanted to join the Olympics, then they needed to warm up for him since he had been missing in action for a long period of time. He would be helping him warm up his body so he could swim again. Slowly, he assured him that he could swim fast, and he really had to because he only had two months for the training until the competition started.
