Chapter 56

Chapter 56

Amelia was just listening and looking at them. She pushed her wheelchair as they followed his family. He didn’t know what exactly was running inside her head but he was thankful that she was there for him.

“I cannot believe that you became a celebrity for quite a while now, bro,” Logan teased him which made him smile. He couldn’t do anything about it anymore so he just had to go with the flow of his brother’s joke.

“Well, yeah. Since that stupid day that I propose,” he said while smirking. He didn’t want to remember that day. He felt like it was the biggest mistake he had made in his entire life.

He was staying in the penthouse with Amelia while his brother decided to stay with his son in the apartment which was also in the building of Alvarez’s company. Finally, Logan took over the company like what the family was expecting him to do.

Levi could now concentrate on his therapy session. He had to put his focus on his recovery so he could get back on his mission and join the Olympic games. It was a promise that he made to himself and that’s the reason why he was eager to recover faster than the ideal time.

He was thankful that Logan was finally back because his attention will no longer be divided. He was looking at Amelia while the woman was massaging his legs. She never left him, and she did her best to comfort him in her little way while he was grieving his father’s death.

Levi could see the dedication and patience in what she was doing. Amelia never complained to him but instead, she was always meeting beyond his expectations.

The more it gave him motivation to walk so he could kneel and propose to her. He couldn’t believe it while he was having this kind of thought, but he heard from Doctor Sandoval that Amelia was still single. She had no boyfriend, and she was also not married.

The woman had no idea that they were talking about her when he visited the hospital for his check-up, and he couldn’t deny the happiness that he felt when he found out that no one owned her heart.

“Come one, bro,” Logan was cheering him up while Harper and Amelia were on the side. They were watching them as it was almost six months since he got into an accident and their father’s death. For the last five months, he didn’t do anything but focus on his sessions for his recovery. And, finally, he could walk slowly though sometimes, he still needed a wheelchair when he felt exhausted from walking according to Doctor Sandoval.

He knew that he improved a lot more than what they had expected. He knew that his strong will had helped him a lot to be able to achieve this progress and his solid support system had made difference to his fast recovery. He couldn’t be more thankful to his family and Amelia.

Levi just smiled for the compliment that he received. It was all because of his determination as well to win back Amelia’s heart aside from his desire to join the Olympic games again for the swimming category.

A sound of a clap brought him back from his senses while his brother was helping him to get back on his wheelchair.

“I am so proud of you, bro,” Logan mumbled after he finally sat down. He couldn’t help but feel the same way as well for himself. All his hard work had paid off and he knew that he was already close to his goals. If he would put all his concentration in his sessions then he would be able to walk in no time.

He smiled. “Thank you, bro,” he said in between his panting.

“Yes, you are right.”
“Bro, isn't she beautiful?”
“Please, bro. If you have any plans for her please, forget about it,” they both laughed because of what he said.
“Well, can we say that the best man wins?” Logan said that made his heart skip a beat. He couldn’t quite imagine that his own brother would be his rival in Amelia’s heart.

Just thinking about it already made him feel stressed. Even if his brother was just joking, he couldn’t imagine that someone was pursuing Amelia aside from him. Though he had no idea where Amelia was going or how she was spending her time during her day off.
He gave her twice a month a day off and then gave her many alibis just not to let her take her day off once in a week.

“Amelia, where do you usually spend your day during your day off?” Logan asked Amelia the question that was lingering inside his mind for the longest time. They were having lunch at their mother’s house. He couldn’t believe that his brother would be asking the woman.

It was Saturday and tomorrow would be Sunday. It would be Amelia’s day off.

He felt his heart beating so fast inside his ribcage. There were like horses racing inside of him while they were all waiting for Amelia’s response in Logan’s question. Though at the same time, he couldn’t believe that his brother would really be asking Amelia that question. Logan and Amelia were not that close so how could the man ask her. He couldn’t help but hold his breath while waiting for Amelia to open her mouth.

“Well, I spend most of my time with my family, especially Amelia,” Amelia answered, which made him stunned.

“Who is Luke?”
