Chapter 59

She was startled when she felt the hands that were wrapped around her body from behind but she knew who it was because of the scent of the perfume that didn’t escape her nose.

She knew that it was no other than Levi. She found herself sitting in his lap.

Amelia could hear her heart hammering because of what the man had done. She didn’t want to think about what could happen next. It was as if there were butterflies in her stomach at the moment.

She closed her eyes for a couple of seconds to collect herself and calm down. She didn’t know what was exactly running inside Levi’s head to do that to her. What if she lost her balance? They might both stumble.

When she felt that she had already recovered. She opened her eyes and spoke.

“Let me get up. You might get tired,” she said, and she was about to stand up when the man held her waist and stopped her.

“No, can you just please stay,” he whispered to her. His breath touched her nape, and she couldn’t help but gasp because of the sudden sensation that she felt inside her body.

“Where have you been?” He asked her when he put her back to sit down in his lap.

“I have been to London to see the queen,” she answered.

“What?”

“It rhymes. Where should I go? I went home to my family and…” She was unable to finish her words and Levi already took her lips.

Amelia couldn’t help but close her eyes as she responded to the kiss of the man. She felt like there were a thousand bulbs that were lit inside her body. She admitted to herself that she missed those kisses. It had been a while since she tasted his lips. She didn’t know but for her, his lips tasted like a lollipop. It was so sweet, and she didn’t want their lips to be parted.

She felt his hands were starting to caress her back and she was holding the back of his head.

Their lips just separated when they were almost out of breath.

Amelia could feel her heart beating so fast. It was hammering inside that she felt like her ribcage was going to collapse any moment.
She never thought that this would happen again. She never imagined this even in her wildest dream.

That heat rushing in her blood made every part of her awake.

She finally felt her heartbeat was slowing down.

“I miss you,” Levi whispered to her. His breath was so warm, and she couldn’t help but smell the mint scent of his mouth. Probably, it was the toothpaste. She couldn’t deny that she felt like she was getting burnt because of the kiss that they had shared. It just lasted for a couple of seconds and yet she felt like his lips were still on her lips.

“It has only been twelve hours since I left, and you are saying to me that you miss me that much?” She giggled.

Amelia couldn’t believe what Levi was saying. What kind of air he had breathed and he was acting so strangely?

“Yes, I do,” he said in a serious voice to her surprise. She felt her heart pounding so fast because of the tone of his voice. She couldn’t understand but her heart couldn’t calm down.

She was starting to realize what was going to happen between the two of them. The feeling that she had was like the feeling that she had three years ago when they were still lovers.

“Oh, by the way, did you already take your medicine?” She asked and then she immediately stood up when she remembered that he had to take his medicine. She went to the switch and then she turned on the lights.

"Did you take your medicine?" She asked and immediately stood up and went to the switch of the light and turned it on.

Then Amelia started to push his wheelchair as they headed to Levi’s bedroom. But before they could even get inside, Levi stopped her.

“I can manage. Go to your room and change your clothes. Just give me my medicine,” Levi commanded her.

“Okay,” she replied and then she immediately went to the room that she was occupying.

As soon as she closed the door, she couldn’t understand herself, but she touched her lips. As she couldn’t believe what had just happened earlier.

She pinched herself because she wanted to know if it was just a dream. She couldn’t believe until now that Levi had kissed her. She kissed him back. Did it mean that they were already in a relationship again? But she didn’t want to assume, however, what did that they had shared meant for the man?

She couldn’t deny the sudden excitement that she felt just thinking about it. There was a different kind of thrilling sensation that was inside her body. She was like a teenager who had been in a relationship with her crush. She suddenly recalled their relationship three years ago. It was a picture-perfect relationship. If that incident didn’t happen, probably, it was her and Levi up to this day. But sometimes, there were just things that were out of control.
She wanted to let her heart be glad because of what happened to her and Levi.

She erased all the negative emotions because it had been a long time since she felt this way. But, she knew to herself that she couldn’t just jump into something or else, she might get hurt.

Amelia wanted to shout because of the joy that she was feeling inside her heart. But she kept quiet. She didn’t want Levi to think that she was affected by what happened. She didn’t want the man to think that he could easily get her because of his kiss.

She and Levi were boyfriend and girlfriend again just like three years ago. Was she going to run away again from the man?
