Chapter 71
Amelia’s heart was hammering inside her chest as she saw Cameron stand up from their table.
She didn’t know what Cameron would do to her. She wanted to get out of the place as she couldn’t take the shame that she might be experiencing if the woman would talk to them.
But she was not doing anything or even saying anything about her. It was all Harper so why would she feel that way? God, she was already being paranoid. She admitted to herself that she was affected because something already happened between her and Levi. She was afraid that Levi would be changed as soon as Cameron came back to his life.
They waited for her to confront them, but it took a while when they saw the woman just passed by their table.
It looked like she was not even interested in them.
Amelia saw Harper looking at Cameron’s back. She didn’t know why Harper was so curious about this woman. Probably, she had seen all her interviews trying to ruin the image of Levi and now Cameron was acting as if she didn’t do anything.
She couldn’t help but feel dismayed at the woman. The way that she was acting was like she was so cheap. It was pretty obvious that she only wanted to be with Levi because of the fame and his money. Levi would really be stupid if he would accept the woman in his life after everything that happened between the two of them.
If only she had the right, she’d tell him about everything that she heard but she had to stay silent for now like how she was trying to hide the truth about her son.
“Oops, she’s heading out of the restaurant,” Harper whispered. The woman followed Cameron with her eyes.
So, Amelia turned her head and she saw Cameron was talking on her phone and then she waved her hand to someone as if calling their attention.
She couldn’t understand what she was feeling at the moment. Every word that Cameron uttered inside the washroom made a big impact on her. She couldn’t deny that. Probably because she had already surrendered herself to Levi again. What would happen to her if Cameron would come back? Would Levi accept her?
That was the question that was running inside her mind.
The waiter arrived to serve their orders. She was thankful because their focus was diverted on the yummy dishes that were served on their table.
“The dumplings are so yummy,” she said as she praised the food. They were so tasty. The taste was just so balanced in her taste buds.
“Really?” Harper asked while looking at the dumplings.
“Yeah, you should try it,” she suggested to Harper and then the woman took a piece of it so she could also taste it.
“Wow, it’s really yummy. Let’s take out some for the two brothers,” Harper suggested. “They can prepare it before we go.”
Amelia could see how Harper was caring and concerned for Logan. She was sure that the woman would not come here with the man if she was not into him. No matter how the woman denied it, she could see it in her every act. It seemed that she was just afraid because just like her, she didn’t know if she had a part in his heart.
She wanted to laugh at herself for thinking so much about Cameron and Levi. She had been okay for the past three years so what she should be afraid of?
Amelia wanted to scold herself for acting so strange because of getting affected by what Cameron had said.
“Okay,” she said and then she called the waiter so they could order two dumplings for Levi and Logan.
When they were finally done and about to come out from the restaurant, her phone suddenly rang. She received a message from Levi.
“Hey, babe. Can I ask you a favor?” The man said in his message.
She couldn’t help but wonder what the man would be asking her.
“Sure, what is it?” Amelia answered.
“Could you buy me some swimwear? If that’s okay?”
It seemed like Levi wanted to go back into swimming. She was happy for him that he was already recovering but at the same time, she was worried. She couldn’t help but wonder what would be the impact of Cameron in his life? She couldn’t stop herself from thinking about the woman and Levi no matter how she tried to stop herself.
“Yes, no problem. It seems like you really wanted to go back to swimming. So, are you now about to prepare for the Olympics?” Amelia couldn’t help but ask. At the same time, she felt scared because she knew that the moment Cameron knew about that, she would do her best to get in Levi’s life again.
“Yes, and it’s for you. I will do it for you because you are my inspiration and the reason why I am actually back on my feet,” the man answered.
Amelia felt flattered because of Levi’s message. She was Levi’s inspiration according to the man. It was so different from what she had heard from Cameron inside the washroom. The woman said that she and Levi were texting.
She frowned as she was getting confused. She diverted the conversation to something else which was related to her work. The main reason why she was with Levi.
“Did you already take your medicine?”
“Yes, I just finished taking it as soon as I was done with our lunch. How about you? Did you already have your lunch?”
“Yes, we just finished it too. We are about to go home but I will tell Harper that I will stop at a shop so I can buy you some swimwear,” she said.
Amelia put the mobile phone back in her bag when she didn’t receive any response from Levi.
She didn’t know what she should be thinking. Would she really have to be affected with what she had heard from Cameron? Or would she believe what Levi was showing to her?
