Chapter 31

Levi was shocked. He was unable to control not to express what he felt when Amelia said that she would be leaving him again. He would be totally helpless if the woman would leave him alone without even getting recovered.

He knew that he could never see the kind of concern that he was seeing from the woman. Levi couldn’t tell and he didn’t want to assume but aside from being paid, he could see the sincerity of Amelia in helping him out with all the sessions that they were having.

He could say that it was an advantage that they know each other because the woman was doing her best to help him out.

He didn’t know why he felt Amelia’s presence in his life was giving him hope to survive even though he didn’t know if the woman was still single or if she was already married.

He didn’t think of that. All he knew was, the woman was the key for him to walk again. He didn’t want to make things inside his head complicated so he didn’t want to think about the relationship status of the woman.

Yesterday, he admitted that anger suddenly spiked inside his heart when he saw the woman. But then he realized after their bickering inside his room when his cousin left that there was no sense of asking where she went when she ran away three years ago without saying any word.

She didn’t even say her goodbye to him. The woman left without any trace. Though there were a lot of things that were already happening to him that time including the relationship that he had with Cameron. He didn’t want to think that it was probably fate that brought them back to each other. He didn’t want to think that fate purposely made their paths cross again.

He didn’t know if this was just a test to see if he had already moved on from her, from their past.

But what he was feeling towards Amelia was the least priority that he had in his mind.

He wanted to stand up with his feet again and what he said to her was true. He was going to be cooperative with her because he was eager to walk again. He wanted to join the Olympics again and he wanted to show the world that he would be able to make it again after what happened to him.

He would show them that he had fully recovered and that he was a strong man. Levi wanted to show Cameron that even if she was not there on his side anymore, he could still survive. He wanted to show her that he would finally get back into track. For those people who mock him, who judge him and for those people who believe that he was not a good person, and he was treating his fiancée badly, he would prove himself to them. He would show them what was the whole story, the truth without saying any word. He would let the time unveil everything that they needed to know.

That was the strong urge that was inside him which pushed him to go to Subic. He wanted to have a peace of mind while he was undergoing the session.

Though he couldn’t feel anything while Amelia was massaging his legs, he knew that she was doing it with care and love. Probably, his cousin was right all along. He and Amelia could rekindle the feelings that they had before for each other.


Maybe the years that the woman was away was only a test for their love. What if all along he was still in love with the woman? That his feelings had never changed for her. He just hid it somewhere inside his heart.

Levi couldn’t believe what was running inside his head. He couldn’t help but smirked while staring at the woman in front of him while having those thoughts inside his head.

Until he noticed that Amelia was already looking at him.

His eyes darted to her luscious kissable lips. They were pinkish and he knew that she was not using lipstick. Probably, it was just a lip balm to keep it moisturized just like what she was using before when they were still in a relationship.

Levi was surprised at himself because he couldn’t believe that after being in a relationship without other women for the past three years, he could still remember even the little details about Amelia.

“I am sorry,” he apologized because all of a sudden, he felt embarrassed. He couldn’t believe that he was looking at the woman like crazy. Amelia shook her head and then she continued what she was doing.

The woman might wonder what exactly he was thinking. He wanted to scold himself because he just looked stupid in the woman’s eyes back there. He couldn’t believe himself for acting like that.

Levi let out a deep sigh. He had to fix himself or else he would look stupid in front of the woman. He was like a teenager who had been near his crush. Unbelievable!

The week went well for the two of them. Amelia was sitting next to him while she was reading a book for him.

If not with his situation, he could say that they were like boyfriend and girlfriend having their quality time for each other.
They were a picture-perfect couple.

Levi turned away the thoughts that started to linger again inside his mind. He couldn’t believe that he was having these kinds of thoughts about Amelia.

It was as if he had already forgotten the reason why they were both here in Subic.

“Are you tired?” He suddenly asked the woman. She had been sitting there next to his bed for quite some time. And he didn’t even hear any complaint from her. She had been so patient with him just like his mom.
He could say that Amelia would make a good mom.
