Chapter 17

Chapter 17

Levi was sitting in their living room thinking what would happen next in his life. He was young but the pain that he had already suffered in life and the embarrassment seemed to be unbearable. But he had to be strong because his parents were fighting for him to get back the life that he deserved.

Even if he had for a moment a thought of just giving up and letting everything fall right in front of him, his parents gave him reason to fight back.

He rolled his fist into a ball when he heard the sound of the car engine that stopped in front of their house.

He quickly rolled the wheel of his wheelchair heading to the glass window. He was surprised to see the reporters that were outside of the gate.

And that sight made the fury inside his heart rise again. It was like they were making a feast about his life and with everything that was spread about him, it looked like it had never enough for him.

It was his father who's talking with the reporter. He could see the anger on his father's face when he got inside of the house.

“What’s wrong, Dad?” He couldn’t help himself but not to ask his father about what was going on outside of their house and what those reporters wanted to ask from his father. Though he already had an idea why they were so persistent and even had to stay in front of their house, they simply knew the story on his side.

His father shook his head.

“It’s nothing, son. Don’t mind them. They are just looking for a scoop to spread even if it is a lie,” his father’s response with anger towards the people who were outside. “These people earn for a living by ruining another person’s image,” his father added with disappointment in his voice as he shook his head.

He was just looking at his father. He felt guilty because he could see that he looked like double his age since this incident happened. He knew that his father was worried about him and at the same time, he was irritated with all the people who were chasing him to get the story of his side.

“By the way, did you already have your medicine, son?” His father asked, obviously changing their topic.

“Yes, dad,” he replied. He took a deep breath and while looking at his dad, he had already decided.

“Uhm… Dad?” He called his father’s attention after he saw his father kissing his mother’s cheeks.

Levi was blessed by his parents because despite everything, they have stayed on his side. They never left him since the day of the accident.

“Yes, son?” His father replied. He looked at his mother as he wanted her help to convince his father about his plan.
He had told her about it already.

At first, she didn’t like the thought of him being away from them especially with his situation but in the end, she understood why he wanted it.

“Well, Levi wanted to tell you something,” his mother started. She looked at him and then his father. “He wanted to do his therapy sessions there in Subic instead of doing it here at home,” his mother added while looking at his father.

His father’s face became serious and then he looked at him.

“Do you really want that?” He asked him.

He nodded. He wanted to be away from this loud city.

“Yes, Dad. I want to do it alone. Of course, along with my therapist. That shouldn’t be a problem, right? Isn’t it we have a townhouse there?” He exclaimed.

Levi had already thought about this for quite some time. The sadness and the anger would always be inside his heart if he would stay near the people who were trying to ignite the fire that was already burning inside of him.

He saw his father take a deep breath. He knew that he was hesitating. Since the incident happened, his father and his mother didn’t do anything but to help him recover from it.

“Yes, we have a townhouse there and the caretaker is also there. If you have already decided, then let me inform them that you are coming so they can prepare your room and the room of your therapist ahead of time. I have no problem with what you want if that’s what you think is best for you, Levi,” his father said while looking at him.

He nodded at his dad.

Levi wanted to go to Subic for so many reasons and he admitted that he wanted to get away from the chaos that was happening around him. He wanted to get out of the sight of the paparazzi who were patiently waiting for him outside the house.

He couldn’t believe that he was like a criminal. Most of the people in the media wanted to hear his side. His story. His point of view and what he had been feeling with everything that was happening.

But Levi chose to stay silent instead of answering the allegations that were thrown at him by the public, especially his fiancée, Cameron.

Until now, he couldn’t believe everything that was happening. He felt like he was just in a nightmare, and he would be waking up soon.

Levi even changed his number and chose to disable all his social media accounts. It just gave him stress.

Every time he scrolled down his news feed, there would be no chance that he wouldn’t find his name. This incident that happened to him was just everywhere.

“By the way, how about your therapist? Are you going with her?” His dad asked which brought him back to his senses.
