Chapter 57

It had been six months and she was watching Levi and Mr. Logan. They were bonding. The siblings looked so cute and admirable. For the months that Mr. Logan came back, he saw how supportive he was to his little brother, Levi. He was always there, especially when it was already time for Logan to practice standing and walking. He never missed any session. He was always with them, and he was always helping her with his brother.

Amelia was thankful to Logan because most of the time that she was next to them, he was making the session very easy for her and Levi. She knew that the man also wanted his brother to recover as quickly as possible.
She felt a little sadness in her heart because the two were separated when they were young. She could already see that if they had just grown together, they would be partners in crime.

She could feel the fondness of Logan to his younger brother and she couldn’t help but admire him. Logan didn’t let the distance that he and Levi had to be a barrier for him to get closer to his sibling.

And Amelia couldn’t deny the happiness that she saw in Levi’s face since his brother arrived. She knew that they were longing for each other and the session was like a bonding to the both of them.

They were spending their time at Mrs. Alvarez’s house. Since their father died, they see to it that every Saturday, they were there at the old woman’s place. They didn’t want the woman to get lonely and feel that she had been forgotten by her children. And she admitted that she was admiring the Alvarez brothers for showing the love that they had for their mother.

She was happy that they were always thinking about their mother because she knew to herself that it was not easy to be parted with the person you love, especially with their mother’s situation. Their dad was gone forever, and their mother would need a solid support system in order to move on and go on with her daily lives without thinking so much about her husband.

Amelia was just stunned by Logan's question. She never expected that question would be thrown to her. She never thought about it because it was quite a personal question. Though she knew that she had the right not to answer it, she had responded anyway with confidence. She answered them with the truth. She told him that she was spending her time with her family and especially with Luke. Just like them, when it was her day off, she would see to it that she would be spending the whole day playing and taking care of him for those days.


The salary she got from working with Levi was a big help to save for Luke's education in the future. She wanted to secure the future of Luke because she couldn’t never guess what could happen in the coming days. She wanted to have the money to send him to college so he could study what he wanted to take.

She couldn’t help but wonder when she saw Levi’s facial expression. His face was dimmed since they left Mrs. Alvarez’s place. She didn’t want to think that she was seeing anger in his eyes as he looked at her. She couldn’t recall anything that she had done that would cause the man to get mad at her. So far she knew that she was able to perform her task before having her day off.

She wanted to ask but she kept silent as she was afraid that the man may get mad at her.

“What time will you be going tomorrow? And what time are you going back?” Levi asked while she was helping him change his clothes into pajamas. Though he could already walk and stand up, she wasn’t allowing him to abuse that.

She still wanted to support and help him with everything that he was doing. She knew when he could do everything by himself.

“Well, just like before. Why? Do you want me to bring anything for you?” She asked while looking at him. She was hoping that would bring the man’s good mood back.

Amelia saw when Levi shook his head. She wanted to ask him what was bothering him but she didn’t want to since in their arrangement, Levi was still her boss and she had to respect his privacy.

“Ahmn… Nothing,” he said and she could see that there were no emotions in his face. Amelia was confused because of how the man was acting towards her.

When she was already done, she gave Levi his medicine. She helped him to lie down on the bed like she was always doing.


Amelia spent her time with Luke in the arcade. Since she had been away from him for a couple of weeks, they played almost all the games that he wanted. If this was the way that she could make up with the time that she was not on his side, then she was willing to spend all the money that she had.

When they finally got tired, she brought him in his favorite fast-food restaurant. They went inside Jollibee and then they bought a kiddie meal for him with toys. While she only got spaghetti for herself. She was busy feeding Luke when all of a sudden, someone kissed and hugged her.

She lifted her head and she saw that it was her best friend and the man next to her.

“Hey, why didn't you call me?” Elene said while she was pouting her lips.
