Chapter 44

“For what?” The man asked with his eyebrows drawn together while looking at her.

Amelia but her lips. His eyes were like passing through her very soul while he was staring at her.

“I fell asleep that long and forgot about your time to take your medicine,” she exclaimed and looked down. She couldn’t look straight to Levi as she was ashamed. Being his nurse, she should be responsible and remain professional. She was just lucky because it was Levi who was her patient. If it just happened to be a different person, she doubted what could already happen to her employment.

Levi looked at her.

“It’s okay. You don’t have to worry. Besides, it’s only today that I didn’t take my medicine on time. I am just so engrossed as well in dealing with those proposals coming from different investors,” he said.

Amelia lifted her head and she saw how the man looked so exhausted even if he was just sitting on his wheelchair almost the whole day. Reading and analyzing those papers were really exhausting.
“How is your father now?” She couldn’t help but ask. Since they arrived, his full attention was on the papers that were given to him when they arrived. They didn’t get the chance to talk.

“His surgery is going to be scheduled tomorrow morning,” he said to her.

Amelia nodded her head. She knew how difficult the man’s situation was. After the accident he got involved, his father had to experience this.

“Let’s pray for his successful operation,” she uttered.

“Thank you. My father needs it,” and they started to eat their meal. She handed him a plate of food.

Amelia and Levi finished their food harmoniously. Then, she took Levi's medicine from the medicine kit. She handed it to him along with a bottle of water.

“Amelia, we are going to stay here tonight. I am sorry for the inconvenience. I just have no choice as I really needed you badly,” Levi said to her. His words were passing through her and she felt like she couldn’t also leave him in this situation. She couldn’t understand why she was feeling that way.

“It’s alright. I understand. You can sleep in the bed, and I can sleep here on the couch,” she replied. Though she still didn’t see the private room that Levi was talking about. She knew that it was just a single bed. Only one person could rest on it.

“No, you cannot sleep on the couch. If you do, I am telling you that you have body pain for the next whole day. It’s not ideal,” he said to her.

“But where are you going to sleep? You are my patient, and you deserve to sleep in a comfortable bed. Don’t worry I used to sleep on the couch or even in the chair when I am on duty so don’t worry about me,” she exclaimed.

She had been working as a therapist and if she would be staying with a patient, most of the time, she would fall asleep on the chair, so this was never new to her.

“Oh, you are thinking that we are going to sleep here in my office, aren’t you?” Levi asked which made her confused.
Where else were they supposed to be sleeping?

“So, where else can we sleep?” She asked while her forehead knitted together. It seemed like there’s another place aside from his office.

“In the penthouse,” Levi answered casually to her which made her more confused. She didn’t expect that Levi had his penthouse.

She knew that they were rich but not to this extent.

“So, penthouse? You mean the rooftop?” She asked because she had no idea where it was or about it.
She was just a simple woman and she never got interested in this kind of thing.

Levi nodded. “Yes, in the penthouse on the roof top. Don’t worry because no one will see us. We have a private elevator in the side of my private room,” Levi exclaimed which made her curious. Suddenly, she felt excited to see what Levi was referring to.

She thought that she was just seeing that penthouse in a Korean TV series that she was watching.

After just less than an hour, Levi said that it’s time for them to go upstairs now.

“Let’s go, we need to take a rest. I will just continue this tomorrow,” he commanded her.

“Okay,” she replied and then she stood up to take her bag, but she just realized that Levi had nothing except her.

She looked at Levi and said,” Have we forgotten your bag in Subic?” She asked while her eyebrows were drawn together. Things quickly happened.

“You don’t have to worry. I already have things upstairs,” he answered to her relief. Though she was not sure if those were his stuff from Subic or he already had stuff prior to coming here in his penthouse.

Amelia just nodded her head and they started to walk towards Levi’s private room. Her heart was pounding so fast with the thought that she was staying there alone with Levi.

She quickly shook her head. What could the man do to her? He couldn’t even move without her help. She was being silly.

It didn’t take a while and they were already there. She saw a small bed in the corner and there was nothing else she could see. There was a wall décor. It was like a painting of a garden.

To her surprise, Levi went near it and then he placed his finger in the petal of the rose and the door suddenly opened. Amelia couldn’t help but be amazed because of what she had seen.
