Chapter 25

Levi’s anger earlier suddenly subsided when he saw the beauty of the woman whom he had loved three years ago.

He never thought that this day would come. It never entered his mind that their path would cross again after those years that he had felt miserable because she was suddenly gone.

Amelia left him without any trace. She was like gone out of nowhere and since then, he never heard anything about the woman. So, it was surprising on his part to see her again. A lot of questions started to run inside his head.

Levi wanted to laugh because of how playful fate could be with him. After being abandoned by Cameron, the woman he thought that he would be spending his life with, here he was in a place far from her and the people who kept on trying to dig the story that he chose to keep to himself. It seemed like he was being haunted by his past.

He felt like he had run out of words and a strange question came out from his mouth which made him frown.

“Good thing that you weren’t lost on your way here,” he added. “Uncle Mon,” he shouted. He didn’t wait for Amelia to answer. He saw the old man coming in a hurry.

“Yes, Sir Levi?” The old man asked him right away as soon as he got near them.
“Is her room already clean?” He asked the man without any emotions in his voice.

The old man nodded and then he looked at her.

“Yes, sir. I just finished cleaning it,” he answered.

“Okay, can you please help her with her things and then show her as well the room that she is going to occupy while she is staying here,” he said in a bland tone as he turned his gaze to Amelia. Though deep inside his heart, Levi could feel his heart beating so fast. He couldn’t understand his heart reaction from seeing the woman who had been gone for a couple of years.
Levi looked at his cousin who was standing next to his ex-girlfriend. “And you,” he called Elene’s attention. “You can go with her. It seems like there are a lot of things that you are going to talk about,” he said and then he turned his wheelchair around heading to the kitchen.

Amelia and Elene were smirking when Levi turned around while Uncle Mon took the trolley bag from Amelia.

Amelia just shook her head because she could tell the naughtiness that was starting to run inside her best friend’s head. She knew very well that she was looking intently at her cousin because she was so curious how Levi would handle their first meeting.

She could say that it was far from what she had imagined where Levi would turn her away. The man remained civil to her even after learning that she was going to be his therapist and his personal nurse. It would also mean that they would be seeing each other more often than he could imagine.


They started to walk heading out to Amelia’s bedroom.

“Hey girl, come here. I really have a lot of things to ask you,” Elene said to her while she was looking at her cousin. It was very obvious that she wanted Levi to hear what she was saying.

Then, they started walking.

“Did you see his reaction? Have you seen it?” Elene said in a low voice as if she was whispering but at the same time the woman giggled. It seemed like she was enjoying the surprise and the shock that crossed Levi’s face as soon as the man had seen her.

She couldn’t help but smile. If Elene was not there, she didn’t know what else had happened to her and Levi.
Though she was naughty and was not taking everything seriously, she couldn’t deny that her presence was a big help.

Amelia couldn’t be mistaken because she saw anger registered on his face when he saw her.
He was just unable to say anything because Elene spoke nonstop.

“Shhh… Just be quiet, he might hear you,” she murmured as she was already stopping her best friend from talking. They were still in the hallway heading to the bedroom that she was going to occupy.

“That’s his bedroom,” Elene said and then she pointed to the bedroom next to her even if she was not asking. “Why don’t you guys just don’t sleep together? He is paralyzed. He can’t touch you anyway,” Elene said and then after that she laughed. It was an evil laugh which made her shake her head.

“Silly, don’t say that,” she said to her best friend who was still laughing like a witch next to her.

“Oh, come on. I am not telling you this because of any other reason. We never know but it might motivate him as well for him to walk again or give his full cooperation with your sessions with him. He might feel differently if you will sleep next to him,” her best friend said, but she didn’t know if she was serious or not.

She couldn’t believe everything that was playing inside her mind. It was as if everything was easy to do for her and to make it happen. She didn’t even know if Levi was okay with her presence since the man quickly left them.

Amelia was not given a chance to weigh his reaction.

She was about to talk when they saw Uncle Mon come out of the room.

“Ms. Amelia, the bedroom is already clean. I will just call you later when the lunch is ready,” the old man said.

“Thank you, Uncle Mon,” she replied as the old man continued his way out of the bedroom.

The two women immediately came inside. Elene quickly closed the door from behind as soon as they got inside the bedroom.

“Have you seen his reaction?” She asked her while the mischievous smile was still on her lips.
