Chapter 39

“Wh--- what is it?” She couldn’t help but to stammer as she was thinking about what happened to her and Levi last night.

Amelia didn’t know what to think of as she looked at the man.

She was scared that the man might ask something about it. She couldn’t help but think that she might be snoring when she was sleeping or probably, she was doing more than that. She was nervous if she was even talking about Luke in her sleep. She knew that she would be in trouble if that’s the case.

She wanted to get mad of herself because of falling asleep beside the man.

Amelia held her breath while waiting for the man to speak. She felt like she was going to collapse because her breath started to shorten. Her heart rate doubled since the man spoke.

She had no other idea what the man would like to ask her.

She was just silently praying that it was not about what happened last night. She was hoping that the man was unaware of everything.

“Ahm…” Levi shook his head. “Nothing, just forget about it,” he said, and she didn’t know if she should be glad or not. She couldn’t hide the tense that she was feeling at the moment.

She was afraid that she might have slipped, and she might reveal her secret accidentally with her own mouth.

Though she felt a bit irritated because she knew that Levi had something to ask but he didn’t continue to ask what he wanted to ask. The man just made her think more about a lot of things. Her mind was already in turmoil.

She knew that she wouldn’t stop herself from thinking about what the man was supposedly saying to her.

But she didn’t make that obvious. And Amelia just shrugged her shoulders as if she didn’t care what the man was going to say. She didn’t want to look like she was affected with whatever he was going to say.

“Well, it’s up to you,” she simply replied and then she pushed his wheelchair as they went out of his bedroom and headed to the dining room so he could have his breakfast.

Amelia was just silent and she didn’t say any word after that.

As soon as they were already in the dining room, Amelia left him.

“I am just going back to your room and getting your medicine,” she said and turned around without waiting for his response.

Levi wanted to ask questions to Amelia, but he chose to just zip his mouth. He just wanted to ask about her whereabouts in the past three years. He couldn’t understand himself but he got interested all of a sudden to the woman’s whereabouts in those years that she ran away. He was thinking if it was really possible for them to rekindle the past just like what his cousin, Elene said to him. But, he suddenly felt shy. It was as if he couldn’t find the right words to begin with his question. He didn’t know what kind of approach he would be using so he wouldn’t scare the woman or not to make her angry.

He couldn’t understand himself but he was always thinking about what the woman would feel.

He took a pancake that was on the table. Then he put butter and honey on it. Again, he was just alone at the dining table. But tomorrow, like what he requested of Amelia, she would be joining him for breakfast. He no longer wanted to be eating alone just like what he was doing since he arrived in the townhouse.

He was glad that the woman agreed to what he wanted and didn’t insist on anything else.

Levi didn’t know why but just thinking about it made him excited. He wouldn’t deny the thrill that started to be inside him.

While eating, he took out his mobile phone and opened his social media account. He knew that he was not supposed to be doing that, but he couldn’t help but get curious about everything that was happening.

And, he was not mistaken, he saw another interview of Cameron in another show. This time he was stunned when he saw the woman. She was sitting next to a man who didn't know who it was. So, while he was eating, he just continued to watch the interview as he got curious of what the woman would be talking about this time. It seemed like she was not yet tired being in the spotlight after everything that she had said to him.

Levi could say that the woman had a thick face because she continuously entertained these people to interview her. And that's what he couldn’t understand. Did she just love being in front of the camera, and she wanted the incident to be brought up over and over again?

She looked like she never got tired of answering questions about them. It seemed like she was even enjoying the attention that she was getting from the incident that happened to them.

Levi felt like Cameron used his situation to take advantage of it. She used it so she would become popular to the crowd which he couldn’t understand. What could she get from it?
He felt really disappointed with this woman.

“Ms. Cameron,” the host started. “Someone saw you with Mr. Henry. Are you guys dating?” Then the host asked. He saw the smile on Cameron’s face. It looked like an evil smile for him. The smile that used to be lightening up his day was a smile that he already hated to see.

He couldn’t even explain, and he couldn’t think how on earth he fell in love with this woman. Cameron was so different from the woman to whom he fell in love. Levi couldn’t help but think that the woman may have been possessed and that’s why she was doing things that she never thought she would be doing just like saying those words in her interviews.
