Chapter 89

Chapter 89

Amelia could see the seriousness in Levi’s eyes. She knew the reason why the man had said that, and she couldn’t blame him. He had been left not only once but twice and she admitted that she was one of those women who had left him even if she would say she had her reason for doing that.

But even if that was the case, she knew that she caused a lot of hurt to the man. That's why he had thrown that question to her.

She looked at him directly in his eyes and she could see the fear in his eyes. Fear that everyone could understand because of everything that he had been through in his life. Twice, he was abandoned and now, he was still willing to take the risk to the first woman who had left him without any trace.
And Amelia must admit to herself that she was thankful to the chance that Levi gave to their relationship. She was just really hoping soon, she could tell him everything about her.

She nodded while she was looking at him to assure him that what happened three years ago wouldn’t be happening again.

“Yes, I promise. I will just be here, and I will wait for you,” she replied. After that Levi held her hand and then he kissed her knuckle. “I won’t leave again without any trace. I wouldn’t hurt you the way that I disappeared a couple of years ago. That is not going to happen again,” she added.

The meal was harmoniously finished, and Levi even volunteered to wash the dishes while she was tidying up the table.

They really looked like husband and wife who understood each other and helped each other in everything that they were doing.

“Do you want coffee or tea?” She asked Levi while he was washing the dishes.

“Tea, please,” Levi replied.

Amelia took two cups and two pieces of teabags. She chose chamomile tea as it was her favorite. The chamomile tea could bring a relaxing feeling to her and as well as it never failed to make her stomach feel good after drinking a cup of it.

“I will just go and prepare your medicine,” she said and then she stood up.

“Yes, please. Thank you,” Levi said as he continued to do what he was doing.

Levi was left alone in the kitchen while he was putting all the dishes inside the dishwasher machine. Then suddenly, he remembered that he needed to call Henry about the meeting that he would be attending the day after tomorrow. He remembered about his practice with his coach after he put all the dishes inside the dishwasher machine. He couldn’t deny to himself the excitement that he was feeling for tomorrow. He put hot water in two cups and then he put it in the center in the living room.

He turned on the television and left it as he decided to go to his bedroom while thinking about the practice that he would be having with his coach. He was so happy that he was already close to his goal. He never expected this would happen this soon. And he knew that if there was a person he should be thankful for that was no other than Amelia.

Levi almost bumped into Amelia as he got inside of his bedroom. She was holding his mobile phone and he couldn’t help but wonder why it was in her hands.

“Ops,” Amelia said as she was startled to met him on her way out of his room. “Your phone is ringing. I tried to ignore it but the caller was calling you non-stop so I thought it might be an important call,” she said and then she handed him his phone.

“Who’s calling?” Levi asked. He was not expecting any call.

Amelia just shrugged her shoulders.

“I don’t know. It is from an unregistered number,” she replied to him and suddenly, the phone rang again.

But to her surprise, Levi gave it back to her. Levi saw it was Cameron’s number.

“Babe, answer the call and tell that person that you are my girlfriend just in case they would ask who you are,” he instructed, and he saw Amelia’s eyebrows knitted. She was obviously wondering why he didn’t answer it and instead gave it to her.

“Hello,” Amelia said as soon as the line got connected but Levi took the phone from her hand and then he put it on a loudspeaker.

“And who are you?” The other line said in a growling voice as if she didn’t expect that a woman would answer Levi’s phone.

“Well, I am Levi’s girlfriend. And you? Who are you? What do you need from him? Why are you calling him?” Amelia said while she was looking at Levi who just quietly listening.

“Ah, okay. Nothing,” the woman said and then she immediately ended the call.

Levi was smiling after they heard the emptiness from the phone. The woman was already gone on the other line but he couldn’t erase the smile on his face. It was pretty obvious that Cameron didn’t expect to hear Amelia from the other line, especially as she introduced herself as his new girlfriend. At least, he made Cameron feel that he no longer cared for her.

“What’s that smile? You know that woman, right?” Amelia asked while her hands were on her waist. Her eyebrows were raised while she was looking at him. She could see that she was trying to read what was inside his mind.

“Levi,” she said in a firm tone. It was as if he wouldn’t answer, it would be a war.
So, he raised both of his hands and a sign like he was already giving up.

“I am sorry, babe. Yes, you are right,” he said and looked at her with an apologetic face. “That is Cameron,” he admitted to her. He looked at Amelia to see her reaction and he was not mistaken.
