Chapter 53

Amelia was looking at Levi who had been so silent since his father’s death. She couldn’t even believe that the man allowed Cameron to come to his father’s burial. Even if it was breaking her heart, she knew that he had done that because he still loved the woman. Despite everything that the woman had done to him, his heart was still beating for her. That was something that she could never change.

She didn’t know what exactly she should be feeling but she knew to himself that she had no right to say anything. Everything that happened between her and Levi had already ended three years ago when she ran away from the man.

But Amelia couldn’t deny that she felt irritated when she saw Cameron in Mr. Levi’s burial. She couldn’t believe that she had the audacity to show up with the family after everything that she had done in dragging Levi's name into shame. To her surprise, she even took the medicine for Levi and she was the one who handed it to Levi. And, the man just quietly took his medicine. He didn’t even react when it was Cameron who gave it to him. He just let the woman do whatever she wanted.

She couldn’t believe that Levi would just act like that as if nothing happened. It was as if the man’s heart became soft when he saw the woman paying a visit to his father’s wake. So, was really that enough for him to forget all the things that the woman had said to him? She couldn’t believe that after dragging their name in shame, Levi was still into her. Was it really love that he was feeling or obsession? It was pretty obvious that the woman left him during the darkest moment of his life. Was he not wondering why all of a sudden the woman was starting to linger around him again?

She couldn’t help but feel dismayed because of how Levi was reacting from Cameron’s presence.

“Ms. Cameron, Mr. Levi needs to go to bed.”

“I am coming with him,” Cameron replied and then she pushed her aside. Cameron was the one pushing the wheelchair of the woman. She felt irritated because all of a sudden, she would appear as if she wanted to really take care of the man.

She had to fight back all the emotions that arise inside her because she was nothing compared to Cameron. She was the woman to whom Levi had proposed to. She had no right to stop the woman for what she wanted to do especially that Levi seemed to be enjoying the attention of the woman to him.

So, without a word, she just let Cameron push the wheelchair for Levi while she just stayed behind them. She couldn’t help but stare at the woman.

She looked sophisticated and a body to die for. She knew that there must be a lot of men who were after her and that’s why Levi couldn’t forget the woman even after the incident that happened between the two of them. she knew that Levi still lobe this woman,if not he should say something. but instead he let this woman stayed in his side, and do what is pleased on her, it seems like Levi was enjoying it as well.

Probably, the man was really in love with the woman and he could forget everything that she had done just for them to get back together. Maybe, that was really Levi’s happiness and they never knew if that would even make him stand up again.

“What are you doing?” She heard Cameron’s voice and then she looked at her sharply. “Go and prepare his things,” she added in an almost growling voice. She couldn’t believe that she was acting like her boss.

But she just let her be. She didn’t want to say anything to this woman because she didn’t want Levi to think that she was affected by her presence.


“Ms. Cameron, are you sure that you wanted to help?” She asked as she couldn’t believe that the woman would be stepping in all of a sudden because she really wanted to help. She might be thinking so much but she felt that she was up to something that’s why she was back and acting as if she was still in a relationship with Levi. She didn’t know but there were a lot of thoughts that were running inside her head which she couldn’t stop since she saw the woman.

She looked at her while she was speaking.

“Of course, he is still my ex-fiancée. I know that it’s very difficult for him what he is going through right now. He lost his father, and he had this condition. So, I am here to help,” Cameron said to her and it was obvious that she was making her voice louder so the people around them could hear what she was saying. Amelia didn’t want to think that she was just doing everything because of another publicity.

It was not hidden to her knowledge how this woman made herself popular out of the incident that Levi got involved in. The incident where she was given an opportunity to make up stories.

Amelia really had no idea what this woman was planning while she was there. She couldn’t believe that now she was acting like a kind and concerned fiancée to Levi. After everything that she had said to ruin the reputation of the man, now she was back as if nothing happened.

But she just shrugged her shoulders and then she did the things that she needed to do. She had to remember that she was hired to be a personal nurse and physical therapist, nothing else. While Levi was quietly listening and watching them.

Amelia felt irritated because he looked like a dumb. She couldn’t just accept the man suddenly accepted Cameron back in his life after all the pain that he had felt because of the woman.

She got inside and then she prepared Levi’s toothbrush. She handed it to him, but he was just like a statue.

Cameron took the toothbrush from her and then she started to brush Levi’s teeth. When she was done cleaning Levi’s face, hands along with his upper body and about to work him a pajama top, Cameron also took it from her.

She wanted to shake her head because of surprise and shock but she just remained not showing her emotions.

She just kept quiet. She just watched her as she put it on Levi. She couldn’t imagine what happened and all of a sudden Levi just became a statue.

Before he was even helping her by wearing his shirt by himself but now, he wasn’t moving. She couldn’t quite imagine that it was a big shock to him losing his father though this morning when they went to the chapel, he was sad, but he looked fine. So, she couldn’t help but wonder what exactly happened to him and he was acting like this.
