Chapter 35

Amelia was so mad at herself. She couldn’t believe that she would find herself sleeping on Levi’s side. It was as if she never learned from what happened between the two of them back then.

She cursed as soon as she realized what happened. She was awakened when she felt that someone was actually rubbing her back. Then, when she opened her eyes, she saw herself using Levi’s arms as her pillow.

She was glad that the man was in deep sleep, and he didn’t know what happened.
So, she quickly got off the bed and then came out of the room like a flash of lightning. It was just so embarrassing, especially since they don’t have any relationship anymore. There’s nothing between them anymore as what they had been over three years ago. They were just employees and employers. Nothing else.

And, Amelia knew that relationship should just remain like that. She had to put boundaries and learn to guard her heart.

She looked at the time of her wristwatch and it was almost six in the morning.
She was glad that she woke up first because she couldn’t imagine what Levi would say if he would find both of them in that kind of position.

She let out a deep sigh and instead of going back to sleep in her bedroom, she got inside the washroom and took a shower. After she was done, she went out and then looked for her mobile phone. She saw a message from her mother. It was a video message where Luke was peacefully sleeping with sounds. She couldn’t help but smile because he was even snoring. She couldn’t believe that her mother really recorded the video while Luke was snoring.

She couldn’t help but laugh because she found him so cute. He didn’t have any idea that someone was already getting a video of him. She couldn’t imagine what would be his reaction if he saw the video.

Just right after she watched the video, she saw a message that popped out from her notification.

“Good morning, girl,” it was from her best friend, Elene.

“Good morning,” she responded.

“So, what happened last night?” After reading her best friend’s message, she felt her heartbeat pounding so fast. She couldn’t help but think if Levi had sent her picture while she was sleeping beside him. She felt awkward because she was hugging Levi like they were loved. Probably, if Levi was not crippled, what happened three years ago between the two of them would happen again. She hated the idea that they had a movie marathon. She should have been careful because of what happened in the past. They ended up in that position though they just watched one movie.
She fell asleep without knowing it because she had been so exhausted for the whole day. She regretted that she stayed in Levi’s room. She should have not listened to him.

“Why? What happened?” She innocently asked as if she had no idea what she was talking about. She was silently hoping that her best friend was not referring to her sleeping in her cousin’s bedroom. Though she was sure that no one had seen her came out from the room.

The house was still silent when she decided to come out as soon as she woke up and found herself beside Levi. She couldn’t believe that she would fall asleep there.

“Oh, because you didn’t message me last night. You told me that you are in Levi’s bedroom. I am just wondering because you never message me like that. You told me that you will be sending a message after you given his last medicine and come out of the room,” Elene explained to her.

Amelia felt relieved when she heard what her best friend said.

“Oh, yes. I am sorry I forgot,” she apologized. “I am still adjusting, and I admitted that yesterday was an exhausting day for me.”

“Oh, come on! How come you forgot? Did he screw you?” Elene said straight to her without beating around the bush.
She couldn’t help but shake her head because of her best friend’s message. She really hadn’t changed. She would say whatever she wanted to say and asked questions she wanted to ask.

“God! What are you talking …” The message that she was typing was stopped because her mobile phone suddenly rang.

She couldn’t help but shake her head while smiling because it was Elene who was calling her. It seemed like her best friend was really excited to know everything that happened to her and Levi.

“Hello,” she said in a low voice.

“Hey, tell me. What happened? Is there already something that happened between the two of you?” She asked one after the other as soon as she answered the call.

“What are you talking about?” She said in a low voice to her best friend. She didn’t know if she would be pissed off or if she would laugh because of everything that she was saying. Have you forgotten that he is paralyzed? So, how could you imagine that’s going to happen?” She said in a growling manner.

Elene was just unbelievable. It was as if they were not talking about Levi who was his cousin. She couldn’t really hold her tongue.

“Hello, best. That’s the reality. I know that if he isn’t paralyzed then he is going to screw you. Trust me,” she even said which made her roll her eyes.

“I cannot believe you,” she exclaimed. “It is as if you have already had an experience with this kind of thing,” she added.lene
She heard her best friend chuckling on the other line.

“Well, if you are going to ask me, I want to experience it,” then she let out a laugh from the other line which made her smile.

She couldn’t really believe what kind of thinking her best friend had.

“Silly. Behave yourself and stop thinking about these kinds of things,” she said to her.

“What, why not? But tell me what happened to you and my cousin? Did he just finger you? You know?”
