Chapter 66
Chapter 66
Amelia couldn’t help but wonder what the man needed from him.
She knew that he was supposed to be working unless something happened. She swiped the answer button,
“Hi, babe,” Levi greeted her as soon as the call got connected. Babe. Her heart skipped a beat when she heard the endearment that the man used to call her. “Can you go with Harper at the department store? You both go shopping for Leonard. You can buy everything that you want. My credit card is in the drawer in my room, you can use it,” he said which made her stunned.
She was shocked with Levi’s words especially when he said that she could buy everything that she wanted.
From how Levi was talking to her, it seemed like the man was thinking that they were already in a relationship again. The proof of how the man called her with the endearment that he used to call her before but she didn’t want to assume. She heard that Cameron called him with that word too.
She didn’t know what Levi was up to and what his plan was for them but she would just follow what he wanted to happen.
“Okay. But how about you? Please take your medicine on time and don’t skip any of them,” she said as a reminder to the man.
“Yeah, don’t worry about me. I will take it after lunch. Just enjoy this day with Harper and Leonard. I will see you when you come back.”
“See you around,” she replied and then she put the phone down as the call ended.
Amelia looked at Harper who was also busy talking on her phone. All of a sudden, she received a message, and her eyebrows were drawn together when she saw that the message came from Levi.
“Are you upset with me? Is there something wrong? You ended the call,” Levi said in his message.
Amelia shook her head because of it. How could the man think that by ending his call she was already upset? She felt like he was overreacting.
“No, I am not,” she responded.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. Everything is fine.”
“Okay, take care then.”
“You too.”
“Chris,” Harper called her attention. She lifted her head after she sent the last message she had for Levi.
“Is it Levi who called you? Because Logan called me saying that you are coming with me and Leonard at the department store,” the woman asked.
She nodded her head.
“Yes, it’s Levi. Before we leave, do you need anything to prepare for Leonard?”
Harper nodded her head.
“Yes, I need to get his bottles and then add more diapers just in case we will be taking long though he already did potty,” the woman answered.
“I see. Go and prepare his things. You can leave him with me,” she instructed the woman.
“Thank you. I get going now,” Harper said and then she went into the elevator where she stood up and put Leonard in his stroller. She pushed it as they headed to her bedroom.
Amelia decided to wear a white skinny jeans and a pink tank with high cut shoes. She just tied her hair at the back since it was just below her shoulders. As soon as she was done fixing herself, she pushed Leonard’s stroller and they both went to the living room and Harper also just arrived.
“Are you guys all set?” She asked.
“Yes, we are. I already changed Leonard with his extra clothes that’s in his diaper bag.
“Thank you, Amelia. I appreciate all the help,” Harper said while she was putting all the extra things for Leonard in his diaper bag.
“Amelia, do you know how to drive?” Harper asked her.
She shook her head. She never tried as she didn’t even have her own car.
“No. How about you?” She answered the woman.
“Yes, I do. Logan’s grandfather sent us both to a driving school though back then, I was not eligible to get a driver’s license,” she said.
“Really?”
“Yes, but Logan doesn’t want me to drive even though I know how and I already have my own license,” she narrated.
She couldn’t help but wonder why she was not allowed to drive. What was the sense of her going to the driving school if she wouldn’t be driving for herself?
“But why?” She couldn’t help but ask as she was already getting curious. She saw Harper shrugged her shoulders.
It didn’t take a while and they finally arrived at the shopping mall. First they went to the kids’ shop and then they chose clothes for Leonard.
“It will be his third birthday party soon,” Harper said after she wore blue jeans and a striped blue shirt.
“Really? When will it be?”
“Three months from now,” Harper replied, which surprised her. She couldn’t believe it. Luke’s birthday would be soon as well so it would be the same month as Leonard.
The curiosity inside her mind suddenly awakened because of what she had heard.
“Harper, can I ask you a question? But promise me that you will not be telling anyone that I ask you about it especially, Logan. I don’t want him to get mad at me,” Amelia said to Harper. She was hesitating but she knew that she wouldn’t know the answers from her questions unless she asked.
Harper looked at her. It was as if the woman already had an idea of what was running inside her mind because of the gaze that she threw at her.
“Is this about Leonard’s mother?” She was not mistaken. Harper knew what was running inside her mind so she nodded her head in response.
It took a couple of seconds when she saw Harper looking around to ensure that no one was near them and no one could hear what they were talking about.
"I trust you, don't tell anyone about this or else we might get in trouble. Logan found Leonard on his doorstep.”
