“He is getting better now. You really don’t have to worry. It’s a viral infection that caused his fever,” her mother answered. She was thankful that her mother was there to do everything that she was supposed to be doing for the child. “The doctor said that we will just continue giving him his antibiotics and then observe him. After that we can go back home.”
As much as she wanted to stay by the little boy’s side, she had to go to work. She had to do everything that she could do to earn money and help her parents. Her life was a total opposite of Levi’s life.
“Please take care of him and just update me when you get back home,” she said to her mother. Her mother knew that she was worried, and she knew as well that she was doing her best to take care of her son.
“Yes, dear,” her mother said. “Don’t worry about him and I am doing my best here to follow everything that the doctor is saying. So, just focus on your work.”
She took a deep breath as she uttered a prayer in silence. After she texted her mother, she was looking at the little boy who was playing with Mrs. Alvarez and Levi. The man who just arrived was sitting in the vacant chair next to Mrs. Alvarez. She had no idea that Levi had a sibling. He never told her about it even Elene. Though she could tell that the man looked familiar to her and she was thinking where and when she saw him. She couldn’t just remember when she had seen him but she couldn’t be mistaken.
It seemed that Henry noticed that he was looking at the man.
“He is Sir Levi’s eldest brother,” Henry murmured, which made her shift her gaze to him.
“Really?” She said pretending that she didn’t know anything, but the truth was Levi already told her about this man. Before they left the company, he mentioned his brother who had been away from them as he was taken away by their cruel grandpa. She didn’t know what he meant by cruel but she just chose to zip her mouth. She didn’t like to look like those paparazzi who were already invading his life. She would just let him talk when he was already ready. There was really no need for her to ask questions because if Levi would be comfortable then he would say everything she wanted to hear.
“Yes, if you noticed sir Levi yesterday, he looked like him when he arrived in the office. Remember how the makeup artist transformed him like him?” Henry continued while they were both looking at the man.
Then like a bulb flashed in her head, she remembered where she saw that face. Henry was right. It was yesterday when she saw that face. Levi was the one who was wearing that face that’s why it was looking familiar to her.
The two men have the same brown eyes. The only difference was the thick eyebrows, the lips of the man and the jaws along with his nose. He looked more mature than Levi. He was using eyeglasses like what Levi was using yesterday.
Her eyebrows were drawn together and wondering.
“But why does Levi try to copy him?” She murmured.
“Oh, that’s all because Sir Logan is the one who is going to manage soon. Sir Levi is next to his position. The siblings have the power with all their businesses. God forbid if their father couldn’t make it, Sir Logan is going to inherit the position of their father in the company. Then, Sir Levi will be next in line to his position.”
“Does it mean that for now Sir Levi would continue pretending to be Sir Logan? Because he is not around?” She continued asking.
Amelia couldn’t help but get curious because of how these people were doing things.
Henry nodded.
“Yes, absolutely. For the investors and the employees to be familiar with Sir Logan and for Sir Levi, no one actually knew about him. Though everyone knew about Levi Alvarez who is an athlete. They know nothing else about him,” Henry exclaimed.
“It seems like you know a lot about their family,” she couldn’t help but utter. “How long have you been working with them?”
“Thirteen years to be exact. The boys were still small. Levi is ten years old and Logan is thirteen by that time. They are a perfectly happy family until one day Mr. Alvarez’s father took Logan away from them. They couldn’t refuse because at that time, the old Mr. Alvarez was sick. So not to make his condition worse, they just let him take Logan. And it is only in some special events that they are going to visit Logan in Cebu,” Henry narrated.
Elene had been her friend for the longest time, but she never told her about Levi’s family. Well, probably, she respected their privacy.
“Please don’t tell them that I have told you about their secrets, especially the idea that Levi is pretending to be Logan. Not all the employees knew about it except me and the secretary of Mr. Alvarez and then now you,” they both giggled after what the man said.
She was happy because even if the man just knew her, he shared one of the secrets of the Alvarez’s.
“I know that you are wondering but they are doing all of these for Sir Levi’s sake. This is their way to hide his identity for being a son of a billionaire. There are a lot of things that you don’t know about them yet,” Henry said which made curiosity rise inside her.
But Amelia didn’t ask any questions. She didn’t want the old man to think that she was interested in the Alvarez Family.
She just nodded her head as she understood what the man meant. She couldn’t deny there was something inside her that wanted to ask about their cruel grandfather.
