“Oh, I--- I am sorry. Yes, you are a handsome driver,” she replied while having a second thought if she was going to move at the front to sit next to him or not.

“Well, should I ask Levi’s permission first, so you would be sitting next to me?” Logan mumbled before she could even decide what to do.

She felt her cheeks suddenly get hotter because of what Logan said.

“No, there’s no need to do that. I am going to the front now,” she replied and then she quickly got out of the car. She went in front of the car. As soon as she got inside, she put the seatbelt on and then she sat properly.

Amelia couldn’t help but wonder why it was Logan who picked her up.

“Ready?”

She nodded. “Yes.”

There was a deafening silence that was between the two of them. It seemed like both of them were preoccupied by their own thoughts.

“Amelia,” Logan called her name as he broke the silence that was between the two of them. “Can I ask you something?” He asked since it was a red light, Logan was staring at her as well.

She looked at him and her heart was pounding so fast.
“No, I mean, can I actually ask you a favor?” He spoke.

“What is it? Tell me and let me check how I can help you,” she said while looking at her.

Amelia saw Logan’s Adam’s apple moving up and down while they were looking at each other. She could see how serious face was as he looked at her.

And the next few minutes, he talked, and she patiently listened to him as he asked the favor, he was asking her. She didn’t know if she would be laughing, or she should cry because of Logan’s situation. She had no idea that this man sitting next to her was aside from being noble and dignified, he was having difficulty expressing his feelings. And she just found it very cute.


Amelia agreed to help him in the end as she could see that he was sincere in everything that he said to her. She wanted to help him because Amelia could say that Logan was the exact opposite of his brother Levi. Or it could be because they were just introduced by Elene and that’s why he had the courage to court her at that time. Because of their past, maybe that was the reason why Levi was too bold to express his feelings towards her.

In short, Levi already knew where he stood in her life so he was not having any hesitation anymore.

It didn’t take long, and they finally arrived in the building of Alvarez's company. Through the private elevator door, they went upstairs but when they reached Logan’s apartment, she needed to put her finger print to continue inside Levi’s penthouse.

Even if she had been staying there for quite a while now, she couldn’t help but notice and be amazed by the technology that had been used going through the penthouse up to the inside of it. It seemed that they had planned about it carefully and really had a dedicated budget to achieve this kind of security system. She was amazed especially when the elevator opened, and she would be directly inside Levi’s living room. Though no one else but only them who could get up there.

As soon as she arrived, Amelia went straight to her bedroom and then she took a quick shower to freshen up before she changed her clothes. Even if they were sleeping together, she still chose to use the bedroom that she was occupying. She was using it as her dressing room.

Amelia didn’t take time under the shower as she needed to go to the kitchen and prepare everything that she needed for cooking the chicken menudo.

She took out all the ingredients that she needed, the chicken breast and the liver for the menudo dish that Levi asked for her to cook. Since the chicken breast was still frozen, she needed to thaw it so she put it in the basin filled with water. Then, she started to peel the potatoes and carrots. She wouldn’t deny the fact that she was enjoying everything that she was doing at the moment.

She felt like she was a wife waiting for her husband as she prepared for their dinner. Suddenly, she wished that Luke was with her.

She turned on the music on her phone so she wouldn’t be missing her son. The songs that were playing gave her an excited feeling while she was cooking.
She couldn’t help but think about Levi and everything that was happening between the two of them.

And she wished this would never change. It was okay to her if she would be cooking for him every night or even every time, they would be having their meal. Amelia was willing to serve the man wholeheartedly because she knew to herself that she still loved him. Even if they had been apart for a couple of years, nothing had changed for what she was feeling for Levi. In fact, she realized that it was right when they said that absence makes the love grow fonder.

The excitement that she was feeling every time that she was with Levi was unexplainable. She didn’t leave any reservation to herself anymore because she was hoping to be happy and their family would soon be complete though until now, she hadn’t figured out yet how she could admit everything to Levi. She couldn’t understand why there was something that was trying to stop her from saying the truth to the man.

As Amelia was so engrossed in cooking their meal, she had no idea that someone was already behind her and was looking at her every action while she was preparing everything that she needed.

She almost jumped when she felt that someone wrapped his arms on her waist and then kissed her on her cheeks.
