Chapter 19

She couldn’t help but wonder why there was a sudden change. He sent her the address. She knew that she couldn’t do anything else since she had already agreed and signed the contract.
It was just that the place was far from her place.

She didn’t know if she would inform her mom about it or what because she knew her very well. Like the last phone conversation that she had with her, she would be worried and might be thinking something else.

She let out a deep sigh and after reading the message, she got inside of the washroom to have a shower and prepare herself for her trip to Subic. She knew that it would take her a couple of hours since she would be commuting by the bus.


She had no car like others. All her earnings were put in the expenses they had at home, but she was okay with that. Suddenly, she remembered her best friend, Elene.

What if she would go with her and accompany her instead like what they had talked the other day? Since she wanted to see Levi’s reaction when he found out that it was her who was going to be his private therapist?

She knew that it would be a great idea to have someone with her to meet her ex-boyfriend a couple of years ago.

With that thought in her mind, Amelia quickly rinsed the soap in her body and then took the towel from the towel rock and came out of the washroom.

She’s the hope that she had. She didn’t know why but since last night she was unable to sleep. There was excitement and nervousness that were mixing up together inside her chest as she was thinking that today would be the day that Levi would finally meet her.

As soon as she got out from the washroom, she took her phone from the side table and then she dialed Elene’s number.

It took a few rings before the call finally got connected.
It was early in the morning so probably; she was still sleeping. She waited for a while until she heard a voice of Elaine from the other line,

“Hello,” Elene greeted her in a sleepy tone. “I wonder what is the emergency that you called me this early in the morning.”

She smiled. She was already used to Elene’s attitude. But she was kind, it’s just more often than not, she couldn’t control her tongue. She was straightforward. And, she had no problem with that. In fact, she liked Elene’s attitude because she could tell everything that she wanted to know even if it would hurt her but for some who hadn’t known her, they would think that she had an attitude.

“Hello, sleepy head. I am sorry to bother you but you have to wake up,” she said to her.

“Why? What’s wrong?” She could hear her tone become alive. She felt the worry in her voice as she answered on the other line.

She smiled at herself. She felt a bit bad for waking her up in the middle of herself at a very early hour of the morning but she needed her.

“Well, it’s my first day of work. Do you want to come with me?” She asked. Though she knew that she really wanted to come because she wanted to see her cousin’s reaction once they finally met after a couple of years.
And, with that thought inside her, she felt her heartbeat doubled.

“Of course, call me back when you are already near their house. Levi’s place is just nearby,” Elene said to her which made her eyebrows were drawn together, she doesn't know if she heard ir right , because She didn’t know that Elene was in Subic. She never mentioned that to her. Or she just didn’t remember because there were a lot of things that were running inside her mind.

“Are you sure? Are you in Subic today? You didn’t tell me?” She asked one after the other.

“What? Subic? What are you talking about?” Her best friend asked, and she could sense that she was already fully awake because of her tone.

And it looked like Elene had no idea where she was supposed to be going.

“Well, I am going to Subic today. He texted me that he was there. I am going to meet him there and he even texted his address to me,” she explained to her friend. It seemed like Elene was surprised. “So, yeah, are you in Subic? I can’t remember that you mentioned being there,” she asked again.

“Oh, shit. No. Are you serious?” She asked again as if she couldn’t believe what she had said.

“Do I look like I am kidding?” She knew that Elene was now awake and curious why instead of Levi’s house, she had to travel all the way in Subic.

She heard when her best friend let out a deep sigh. It was as if she never expected that she would be working that far,

“Alright. You have to wait for me. I am coming with you,” she finally heard what she wanted to hear. Amelia felt like she would be okay if Elene would be around her during her first day of work. Since she had no idea how Levi would take the fact that she was his personal therapist and nurse. Though Elene already told her that he had already moved on from her, she couldn’t help but think that she had hurt the guy when she left without a word. She knew that whether she liked it or not there might be a moment that Levi would remember the pain that she had caused to him.
