Chapter 85

Finally, the day that they have been waiting for a long time has come. Levi could finally walk without the help of a wheelchair or any other support. On top of that, Levi and Amelia were also in a relationship again. Though this wasn’t officially announced yet to their family. They were still trying to get the perfect timing for it as there were a lot of things happening to Levi’s family and she didn’t want to add up to the stress that they were feeling at the moment.

On top of that, she didn’t want his mother to think that just like Cameron, she only wanted to use Levi for her own good. She wanted everything to be taken slowly. Amelia wanted to be accepted by Levi’s family as a decent woman unlike how they were looking at his ex-fiancée Cameron.

Since Levi had already recovered, Amelia finally went back to her work at the hospital but this time she was no longer living at her old apartment but instead, she was staying at Alvarez's company. She and Levi agreed that she should be living with him, and Amelia couldn’t see any reason why not. They were already sleeping together so there was no reason for her to say no and on top of that, she could save the monthly expenses for Luke’s future.

Levi was dropping and picking her up at the hospital. She wouldn’t deny that she indeed felt the most beautiful woman in the world and at the same time the luckiest one for having Levi as her man. He had been taking care of her since they got back together.

Amelia couldn’t believe that it really happened. Sometimes, she was still thinking if it was really fate that brought them back together. Like what she had always thought, never in her wildest dream that she would be getting back with the man.

After she attended the last patients she had for the day, she prepared herself for getting home. Then, she received a call from Levi.

“Hello, babe,” the man greeted her as soon as their lines got connected.


“Hello,” she couldn’t hide the excitement in her voice. She admitted that even if they just saw each other earlier, she already missed the man. Probably, this was what really in love people feel. It was as if they wouldn’t want the person they love to be out of their sight.

“Babe, I cannot pick you up, but the driver is coming to pick you up there. I just had an important meeting with my coach. He just called me,” he said to her.

Though she felt a bit dismayed. She tried to keep herself cool.

“Sure. No worries. Is he on his way already?” She asked instead as she tried to make her voice lively.

"Actually, he is already outside of the hospital and waiting for you.”
“Oh, that’s great. I am just taking my things here in the locker and I am coming out shortly.”
“Alright, I will tell him.”
“Is there anything you want for dinner?” She said she didn’t want to cook anything that the man didn’t like. She always considered what the man wanted to eat for dinner.

“Yes, please. I will definitely have dinner with you, babe,” he said to her which touched her heart. Levi always wanted to spend time with her more than anyone else.

“So, what do you want for dinner so I can cook it for you?” She asked again.

There was a long silence on the other line.
“Can you make my favorite chicken menudo, please?”

“Of course. I will cook that for you. Alright, just take care and I love you. See tonight,” she said as they ended their call.

“I love you too,” Amelia heard Levi say before the call finally dropped.

Amelia couldn’t help but finally smile. She felt like she was on cloud nine even if Levi wouldn’t be able to pick her up. Levi was so kind and sincere to her. She could feel it in every word that the man was saying to her since the time they officially agreed that they were already together. Though, something was still bothering her. She felt guilty because she hadn’t told him about Amelia. She felt that she had no strength yet to tell him the truth about her son. She couldn’t help but wonder what his family’s reaction could be once they knew the truth about her and her son.

She took a deep breath as she planned a surprise for Levi on how she was going to tell him about Amelia. She had to be patient. One more month and she was hoping that she could tell him everything that happened for the past three years and hoping that he would forgive her and accept Luke like how he had accepted her after what happened. Deep inside her, she was hoping that everything would be easy to be accepted by the Alvarez’s family because she didn’t want everything to be complicated for her son. She only wanted the best for Luke.

Amelia was already done changing when she decided to go out of the hospital. She bid goodbye to her colleagues and then she walked her way out of the hospital. Then, she found a familiar black BMW outside of the hospital entrance and then the driver honked as soon as he saw her.

She got inside and then she sat at the back side of the car, but she was surprised to see in the rear-view mirror the driver of the car.

It was Logan who was inside of the car, and who was sitting in the driver’s seat.

Her eyebrows were drawn together as she was confused why he was the one who picked her up.

“Well, I guess, I am a handsome driver, right? What do you think?” Logan mumbled which brought her back to her senses.

“Oh, I--- I am sorry. Yes, you are a handsome driver,” she replied while having a second thought if she was going to move at the front to sit next to him or not.
