Chapter 55

Chapter 55

They were in front of Mr. Alvarez’s tombstone. The head of the Alvarez family died after his surgery. The operation was successful, but Mr. Alvarez had a cardiac arrest after a couple of hours. Now, the day of his burial, the cemetery was crowded. There were a lot of media people trying to cover the burial. And it was also the same day that Levi’s personality was exposed in the public. The news about Cameron and Levi’s break up was on the air again. It was like a fire ignited because of his father’s death.

He couldn’t believe that the media people would really do everything just for them to get a scoop. His father was right that they were feeding their families using the money that they had earned by destroying a person’s image. He couldn’t just believe that was really happening.

He didn’t know for how long he would be haunted by the incident that happened to him and Cameron. He wanted to disassociate himself to the woman and yet this happened. He wanted to stay away from her because he knew her true color and she was not someone that you can trust. She was a typical woman who would stick to you while she was able to get what she wanted. She was like a parasite. And he was the host.

Just like how everything had happened the other day in the chapel.

The media people would really not stop until they got what they wanted. They were insensitive not considering that it was his father’s burial.

“Mr. Levi Alvarez! Finally you showed up to the people. Condolence. But we need to ask you about your current relationship with Ms. Cameron, especially that she was here to attend your father’s burial. She told us that she was here with you,” the reporter said and he was no longer surprised with what he had heard. He knew that Cameron would be saying to these people that the two of them were together because she wanted her face to be all over the television. She was the type of woman who wanted to be the headline of every news.

He couldn’t help but feel dismayed towards the woman. He couldn’t really believe that he had fallen in love with her. Why was he unable to see her true color when they were still together? How could he be blind with this woman’s attitude?

Levi didn’t respond and he chose to zip his mouth. Then, he heard Henry ask the media that they wanted peace and if they would continue asking questions, he would be sending them out.

He couldn’t believe that these people wouldn’t even pay any respect to his father’s death.

Then, he saw Cameron was sitting in front not far from his father’s coffin. The woman immediately stood up and went to him as soon as she saw him. It was as if she really cared for his family, and she acted as if nothing that happened in the past few months between her and him.

He couldn’t believe that the woman was acting as if she didn’t say anything against him on national TV.

“Condolence, babe,” the woman shamelessly said in public. She was looking at him full of worry and concern, but he knew that she was just faking it. She was a good actress. She wanted to push him away but he tried to stay calm.

He wanted peace so he didn’t say anything. He just patted her back when she hugged him. He didn’t want to get attention and start a drama. He was already sick of those for the past couple of months. There was nothing that happened to him the past couple of months except for the fact that the rumors about him and Cameron kept on circulating and he was hating it.

But Cameron was a shameless woman. After that, she really came daily, and she sat next to him as if they still had a relationship. She was acting as if there was something between them that was going on. He couldn’t help but wonder where the woman was getting all the courage to act like that in front of him. He didn’t know what she was planning because she was like a whore who wanted to be with him all day.

It was as if the woman was acting; everything was fine between the two of them. It was as if she didn’t say anything to drag his family’s name in shame. She was acting innocent as if she was not the cause for him to get hurt.

Cameron was standing next to him while Amelia was standing behind him like a personal nurse would do to his boss. But he wanted the woman to be next to him instead of Cameron. As much as he wanted to, he couldn’t do anything especially because they don’t have any relationship except for the fact that she was his ex-girlfriend.

Everyone was leaving one by one after they gave their condolences to them. Their friends, relatives and employees were there to support them in this darkest time of their lives.
Though they were surprised when they saw him, everyone respected his father’s death and no one had dared to ask him.

“Levi, let’s go,” Logan mumbled while he was carrying his son in his arms.

“Yes, bro,” he replied.

“Let me come with you,” Cameron said, and he couldn’t understand why she was like a dog tailing him everywhere he was going. She liked to push his wheelchair as if she was a caring girlfriend. She was acting like she didn’t abandon him when he met with an accident and when he was unable to move his legs.

“No,” he immediately replied. He saw how everyone was looking at Cameron. But he didn’t care. He just didn’t want to see the woman.

He looked at his mother, hoping that she understood what he wanted to say.

“Don’t worry, my dear. You can come into the employee’s service if you want. I am sorry but you need to respect my son’s decision. He just kept silent after everything that you have done to him because he has the dignity to take care. So, if you can understand, please don’t insist on what you want to happen. We have been civil to you during the burial, but we can only handle so much,” his mother said and then they all turned around without waiting for her response.
